Hip Infection* Life After SCaprae

Back from bear camp, none yet as of now (lots of activity at the baits, but none during daylight hours so far). Rode atv some, but did not over do it. The North Shore is just beginning to exhibit signs of fall / hint of red in a few maples, beginnings of yellow also with cool nights. Had a very pleasant trip, returned home yesterday. Still some members of our group up there till tomorrow. Haven't used my cane for several days and am moving about fairly well (better in the mornings than later in the day). Continuing to work on it.

What great news. I'm happy you didn't over do it on the atv this time.
Aww, the Maples, my fave. Starting to notice changes here too. Minor, but it's happening.
Wonderful news on the cane. You're doing so well. May it only get better, better, better!
@SCaprae

Glad to hear you are able to go without cane so soon.
Onward:egypdance:

Have been doing okay with working more additional hours this week (end of sedentary restrictions/though becoming more active). Monday brings the first day w/o restrictions & believe it's going to be ok. Muscles no longer complaining as they first did after returning them to use. It's good to have "purpose" again.

So very happy for you. It's been a long time coming.
It's good to read work is going okay for you.
Enjoy the rest of the week!

How's life in your part of the world?
Hopefully your hip is still feeling stronger week by week.
Summer is fading fast but that's okay cuz Fall is my fave!
Hope you have a great week!

Nearing the end of my first day back at work w/o restrictions. Actually going very well with minimal complaints from muscle groups. I believe it's going to be okay!!:yes!:

On the drive home after Accupuncture (after work) I had time to reflect a bit. Actually feeling good after the first full day back at work (Fire Alarm calls, intrusion alarm issues in several buildings, normal work orders from new students moving into dorms & the first day of classes). Compared to a year ago I feel GOOD! I wish to thank all of you who have been supportive while dealing with this, it would have been much more difficult w/o your support.

:friends:great to hear...
It's been such a journey for you.
I hope all continues to get better and better!:happyfeet:

We thank you for your kind words. You've added a lot to the forum in your willingness to share your story.
Thank you for that and your continuing updates. It's nice to read how things are finally looking up for you
and how you're moving forward in life.
May it only get better!

Already into day 3 (my how time flies) of returning to work & all is well. Definitely have a slight "hitch in my giddy up " but mostly pain free.

So....one full week later, how are things going now?
Any ill effects from being back to work full time? Hopefully not.
Best wishes for a great rest of the week.
@SCaprae

Holding up Ok during week 2. Getting plenty of exercise: ladder climbing, stairs and walking at work(residential educational institution/ 30 academic buildings on 100 acre contiguous campus w/ 50 houses in the surrounding neighborhood & 900 acre arboretum) Actually achieving some personal satisfaction as well (enjoy fixing things & always more to learn). Mostly some mustle discomfort that diminishes a bit each day.
Spent most of yesterday at Fairview Hospital West Bank of U of M (significant other had another lumbar level fused) , L1 to L2 (now fused to the pelvis) so I had an "easy" day. Will also have another 1 tomorrow when I go to visit. So far so good.

Wow - serious surgery for your OH. Hope all is well. Sounds like you are easing back into the work world very well!
