Natalie,

Do you have any scans? Dr. Maale is very good at figuring things out you know. :wink1:

I am so sorry they are giving you the brush off! I would like to fly over the pond and go to Writington to give them a piece of my mind for treating people like this!

Both you and Dawn deserve so much more!

Take care and keep in touch!:friends:

I've had to really kick off this last weekend make myself be heard as no one was doing anything about it!

I rang my consultants secretary and begged her to find out exactly what was happening,it was all one excuse after another she got back to me within a few hours to confirm that an email had been sent to the radiographer requesting help from the registrar on what scan would be best for my knee and he had replied straightaway confirming what type and to get me on a list but my consultant now has to agree to this and sign off on it and send it to the hospital who do the scan to request it and he's been on leave for 3 weeks and he is only in 1 day next week so she has to try and pin him down and then I'll have to wait again for an appointment!

I'm so so sorry I've not been around but I'm not doing too well maximum 2 hours sleep a night and barely leaving the house every day feels like groundhog day and I am wondering if this nightmare will ever end :( :(

Natalie,
I hope the consultant signs the scan so you can finally schedule and appointment. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Natalie, this is so unfair!! Please don't feel the least bit guilty about badgering them until they do what you need. It's shameful! Can your GP get after them as well?

Sorry to hear that things haven't gotten better for you, Nat. But now that you're making yourself heard, maybe it will. Stay on these people.

Hugs!

Kick off all you want Natalie! Shameful to leave you hanging and in pain. Please update when you can!

Natalie, it is so easy to get depressed when life is not going well for us. But, since you live in the UK, I know that you are surrounded by wonderful gardens---try to get out to smell some flowers every day. Effort yes, but rewarding too. I am an artist and sometimes stay in my studio too often---I am always so amazed when I go out and see a bit of the world outside my window. Can you get one of those motorized scooters so that you can go outside with a little bit of comfort? If not, wheel that chair outside and just smell the world. K

Natalie have you emailed Dr. Maale yet? If not I can take what you have written to him when I see him on Thursday and the stuff about Wrightington stalling!:)

Hi Natalie, just checking on you. How goes it my friend? Thinking about you!

Just what I was thinking ... long time, no hear

Hi Natalie!
Add me to the list of your friends that are thinking about you. I sure hope that you have found some relief and are just enjoying life. Take care and know that you have many, many, many friends that care!

Hi everyone thank you so much for caring about me so much it means the world to me xxx

Sonja I emailed Dr Maale to tell him where I was up to and I was waiting for scans and I would be in touch as soon as I have more information.I hope you're ok and I apologise so much for not being around for your recovery xxxx

I finally got my scan date yesterday it's the 18th July I pray and hope something can be done after this.I am not in a good place haven't been for several months I didn't want to burden you guys with my unhappiness I'm so sorry for being away for so long but I've just not had anything positive going on at all, every day seemed like ground hog day, pain and boredom and insomnia and exhaustion.
2 weeks ago I went to see my GP to ask him to reduce my fentanyl patches seems like a daft thing to do when in pain but the side effects are awful and the 25mg gave me the same pain relief as 50mg and I feel better on just 25mg.I also had a good chat with him amd explained how I felt like life had taken a backwards step for me I was unable to go anywhere alone I don't sleep at night so snooze all day and snap constantly at my family I was stuck in a rut so I am trying to get out of it gradually and hopefully I'll start to feel better slowly.
Thanks for listening everyone xxx

Natalie, it doesn't matter if you don't have anything positive to say. We're here for you no matter what, fair weather or foul, you know that. I'm glad you contacted Dr Maale - it pays to keep in touch.

I saw Martyn Porter at a conference last weekend and nearly marched up to him and said "what's all this about you don't think our Nat should consult with Dr Maale?" But I didn't! :snork:

Natalie, I second Jo's comments. You are so special to all of us here. We love you no matter what!!! And we love hearing from you....even if there is not-so-good news or even no news. Just talk about whatever comes to mind. We're here for you. And, please....don't allow yourself to ever give up!!!

Natalie,

We will ALWAYS be here for you! My goodness Natalie, if I was only on here when thing were great, I would go crazy! That's when others who have been where you are step up and listen, lend a shoulder to cry on, or they start getting your mood elevated! We ARE family, and we want to hear from you no matter what.

By the way, after my first knee surgery the doctor didn't think I had adequate pain meds on the rehab floor. He ordered a fentynal 75 patch, and I fell asleep. Mom came in that a little later that day (remember she's a nurse) and they said Sonja is sleeping but we couldn't wake her for PT! Mom said she came in and ripped off the patch! It took 24 more hours for them to be able awake me up! The doctor came back and said let's try a 35 and I was out again! :rotfl: Mom arrived, ripped off that patch, told them no more and about 12 hours later I was back with the program! :heehee:
