Hello
@susanne - loved the pictures yesterday. So glad you posted them as it convinced me to 'bite the bullet' and send my beloved camera in for assessment. It's being processed as I type this. It's way out of warranty but evidently there was a problem with a loose screw? (seriously) in a certain batch that caused power up problems. The serial number on mine suggests it may be affected so I will get a free repair - fingers X'd. I just cannot take decent pics with the camera on my iphone.
Glad your OS visit went well - I have mine in 2 weeks. I'll be interested to have another Xray, but figure it will be a bit of a waste of time regarding progress as all I have done is repeat everything that he saw at 6 weeks! You don't seem to perturbed about your delayed return to work. Ha ha ha ......... Get your PT to do some deep tissue massage on your upper leg muscles - hurts like hell but has really helped all my random aches and pains.
I bought some great stuff for knitting on big needles that is made from T shirt strips. It grows quickly (which is good for me as I am like a small child with knitting and get fed up with lack of progress!). The colours they have are gorgeous and I have a pink white and grey mix. Didn't know what to do with it, but inspiration struck and I intend to knit a great big square in plain knitting and use it as a cushion front. Might start it this evening.
As for books I generally have one on the go all the time, but I did find that the TKR gave me a much shorter attention span than normal in my gnat brain, so haven't read much recently. I loaded lots of books onto my Kindle pre-op, and they remain un-read. I have only started one of them - same as
@Ellejay 'Life after Life' by Kate Atkinson. I like her books. I was given the Joanna Trollope 'Sense and Sensibility' to take into hospital - I read it in my first few days at home - it was nothing special - and that's been it.
The only book that I have read that I wished would never end was 'Winters Tale' by Mark Helprin. When we lived in Jakarta there were very few decent books to buy and this was years before Kindle. Every month I used to take my daughter for the weekend to Singapore to have the braces on her teeth adjusted - and stock up. There was a HUGE bookshop there and that's where I picked it up, because I liked the cover pic of Grand Central Station! Totally unlike anything that I usually read, but I loved it. I have raved about this book to people for years, and was amazed to discover that it has recently been made into a film starring Russell Crowe, Colin Farrell and Will Smith. Reviews do not look too great though - what a shame!
Only 2 books have made me cry - 'Birdsong' - Sebastian Faulks and 'Me Before You' by Jojo Moyles. I'd recommend both - but have the Kleenex on stand by.
