I was anxious with my first TKR. I had blisters and all sorts going on with it. I could not believe it when the bandages came off and there, was all them blisters. I had to have them aspirated. Oh the relief when that was done x x I posted the pic on my thread yesterday. It's not a pretty sight but it's different x xx
Your only just a month out, which in this recovery is no time at all. I'm glad you have the sense to stand up to the PT whom hurt you. They should never hurt you or cause you to hurt yourself. However, there are a lot of good, kind and very dedicated PT's out there and they do a wonderful job.
You have to be patient, things will feel better for you once the first twelve weeks are over. With luck you should be feeling a lot better by then. However, recovery takes longer than twelve weeks. Everybody is different and recovers at different speeds and paces. Don't ever compare your recovery with that of someone else. It does you no favours, I found that out the hard way. I kept thinking there was something wrong with me because my recovery was slow. I kept pushing myself way too hard and overdid it more times than I care to remember.
It will drive you a bit mad being stuck in. This is only temporary. When you go for your follow up appointment with your OS he will tell you when you are allowed to drive. Otherwise if you drive too soon you may find that you are breaking the law or the agreement with the insurers. Many insurers will not cover TKR until a certain period.
Take care, you are not alone. You are amongst friends here x x x
