THR Hippity Doo Dah!<

@Carriemay60 My shower is over the bathtub so I put a tall stool next to the bath. I sat on the stool and Tony simply swung my legs over the side of the bath. I was able to stand up from there and take a shower. It was bliss but I was terrified that my leg would buckle at any minute. I kept a proper lock on that knee. To get out of the bath, Tony helped me sit back onto the stool and he swung my legs back out of the bath

@SE Florida Dinner was wonderful - every single bite! I am so lucky to have these two in my life loving me. :loveshwr:

@JennyLynne The beauty of a built in seat or any kind of seat is being able to just hang in the warm water for a bit. I still feel a little dizzy and nauseous if I stand too long without holding onto something.

@SarahBee Great idea! I also have a shower stool and do have some other kitchen stools (shorter than a bar stool) so that might be worth a try. Get in using the kitchen stool but have the shower stool for support.

Your dinner and Easter sounded lovely. Love how much family you have near you. Sounds lovely! We had very low key celebration here, really enjoyed sitting outside with my boys. Our Daughter is finishing up finals at college. May celebrate next weekend when she’s home. Funny how we are all living for showers! It really is the little things! Fresh washed hair is heaven for me. ❤️

Love how much family you have near you
Actually we don't have family here other than our youngest son. He was the only one still in highschool when we got repatriated back to Canada so he went to University in this area. The next closest kids are a 4.5 hour flight away or another one a 8 hour drive away. One more on the west coast, near Seattle. If it weren't for facebook, video calls and unlimited long distance calls on my mobile, I don't know where I would be!

Sounds like you had a satisfying shower followed by a lovely Easter meal @Carriemay60

Staying in touch with loved ones IS so much easier these days as you mentioned above.
Having the ability to see them while talking is such an added bonus. Especially for grandparents
who aren't able to watch grandchildren grow due to geographical distances.
I hope you have a beautiful day!

Physio #2 today. I made the rules today and let them know how much last weeks session set me back. I made it clear I was not going to put myself of needing extra painkiller before or after physio. My physiotherapist really seemed to listen and support my decision. To start I had a bit of time in the "gym" with what I think is a practicum student. He brought out the largest sized yoga ball and asked me to put my op leg up on it. I laughed and asked him if he realised that would break my most basic 90 degree restriction. He the asks "how do you feel about bridges"? I replied "ok to drive on but I'm not doing them with my body". I had to take a chance but very glad I did. I don't think I will get a bad report to my OS at all. :egypdance: Iced when I got home and all is right in my world!

@SE Florida I had been thinking how important it is to me to see a very meaningful recovery and decided I would be negligent if I didn't speak up, even it meant my OS turning his back on me for any possible future joint replacements. The fact is, this hip has been 5 years in the making, has had me not working for 5 years, not enjoying life and my grandchildren. Being given the cold shoulder or even suffering through a bawling out from OS is nothing compared to that. It's my life so I put my big girl panties on!

I seem to miss so much unless I come on here daily! Did you have a new grand baby? Fantastic you went out for dinner and for the walk outside. I can just see you preening like a peacock so pleased for yourself. Your mother sounds amazing! sounds like she is living life to to the fullest.
I don't mind the exercises they give me at PT but I seem to have too much pain when lying on the table at first on my back and he moves my leg and hip up and down and around and in...before surgery this loosened me up and I felt fantastic. Now its just not right for me and the pain lasts for 2 days. I am taking 2 weeks off and go back after that one time to see if its ok otherwise I'll stop for awhile.
Have a good evening.

I woke quite stiff and sore this morning. Not sure it had a lot to do with physio because I didn't hurt much at all last night but assume that must be a factor. That and the fact that I have not been taking anything in the night.

Had another pain management appointment with the family doctor today. All good. Going to start changing things up a bit by adding another dose of long acting morphine to the middle of the day and tapering out the short acting. The theory is that it will be less overall shortly. I can see that mid day pill getting forgotten before too long. He's lined everything for 2 weeks so thankfully don't have to go again next week.

After that, we took a walk (in my wheelchair) over to the shopping mall for a snoop around, a light pub lunch and a visit to our big indoor farmer's market. There are several huge, gorgeous cheese stalls there so of course we partook in more than our fare share of sampling, bought a couple, some rosemary ham, a giant beefsteak tomato and a fresh loaf of bread which turned into dinner. When we got home, I discovered a decadent chocolate/cream swiss roll, dipped in chocolate and drizzled in chocolate and caramel!! I am denying any previous knowledge of it!

@Fit4Family I didn't seek out a second opinion. My surgeon only gives the first week of painkiller and will do a half refill once. They then transfer all pain management to the family doctor. Works for me because I have had the same doctor for about 10 years and he trusts me and I certainly trust he has my best interests at heart and listens to me.
