THR Hawai'i Healing Hipster

67F......I wish! We're at 21F with a high of 34F.
You're a lucky duck @AgilityDog
Have fun with that sweet little grandson this afternoon.
Hope your weekend is wonderful!

Thanks @Layla . :flwrysmile:I look forward to time with him. He likes to help. I try to have a Creamer bottle or milk jug for him to squish and put in the recycling bin. :happydance:We may watch some sealife on Netflix. :swim:He will be happy when we can go to the beach together. :kayak:I love discovering new things with him. :realing:Well, new to him and then I see them new again, too:capn: He likes puzzels and we can work on a 1,000 piece that I found for us. I should not hurt myself doing a puzzle?:snork:

Yes, puzzles are great!
I bought my mom one when she was recovering from her hip replacement.
Found this cool mat, made of felt, which actually allowed you to roll up the puzzle
as you were assembling it, without ruining it. You could put it away instead of leaving it on the table indefinitely. Ingenious huh?
Or possibly I'm just late to the party and everyone knows of this?
Well.....she lost the whole shebang!
Can't seem to remember where she put it  Or threw it :heehee:

:heehee: @Layla We never use the kitchen table. I better measure 1st. Otherwise I will be looking for some felt.

I have a whole pineapple sitting on the counter. I better cut it before he gets here. He will want to help. Perhaps he will make some cookies. I have chocolate chip cookie dough :egypdance: in the fridge, just waiting to go in the oven.

@Layla - my dad made a puzzle board for me. Nothing fancy but just the right size board, sanded and varnished, with felt on the underside. You can put it on the table (or floor) while you're working on the puzzle without fear of scratching the table and then slide it under the bed or couch when you want to put it away.

That's a great idea too! @SaraK as long as you can put it somewhere like you mentioned.
Under sofa or bed.
Google - Portable Jigsaw Puzzle Roll if you guys are interested. I thought it was a great idea
because I know my mom well enough to realize she'd be annoyed by an unfinished puzzle sitting on her dining room table for any length of time.....impatient woman! :hairpulling:

Okay. Here is a part of my learning curve. :chinstroke: We realized, while I was still in the hospital, that the pain meds were not :flabber:taking away the pain in my thigh. Ah HA! It was not surgery pain. It was the Fibromyalgia. :hissy: I suggested we try a muscle relaxer and back off on the pain meds. It worked:yahoo: Thank you:praying:

This morning I noticed my thigh was feeling crampy. Hhhhmmmmm..... When my arms joined in, I have my answer:idea: Fibromyalgia. :oyvey:Now I know what to do. :thumb:

:yes!::flwrysmile::yes!: :SUNsmile:

I'm boring. I am reclining in bed (its a bed that I can adjust the firmness. I think I usually tell DH that I've changed his setting) feet up and ice on, reading a book and checking on the hippies I know. I see the OS on Tuesday the 13th. I think I will ice until then. And drink lots of water. If I do that right, I get my walking done && it's a two-fer.

:rotfl:@AgilityDog boring is definitely NOT a term I would apply to you!!! Yay that you figured out it was the fibro causing some of the problems!! Enjoy the time with your grandson--I'm sure he has many a story he could share about the hijinks you get into. :heehee:

Yay for getting meds worked out.
I think for a little over a month out, you are doing super well.
Patience is prescribed in large doses...the payoff will be huge!

:hi: Hi
Rest is good @AgilityDog
You seem to be balancing out your recovery well.
I'll bet you're excited for your appt on Tuesday.
It's always nice to get the confirmation that you're progressing normally.
Hope your weekend is great!

Thank you all. We had the automatic transmission vehicle :driver:in the shop. I got the call that it was done, :yes!:but the inspection was expired. We were distracted in February. I had it inspected this morning. Now I am icing.:ice: I think I am moving better. :walking:I put on athletic pants, sports bra, & long sleeve sweat-wicking shirt. Of course I took my cane. :old: I was treated especially nicely! I came home and pulled off the shirt for sweating. I noticed that when I have exercise gear on that I remember my shoulders, my core, & my gate better.:yahoo: Any one else?:chinstroke:@Layla @MammaT @Mascaramom @mojo @hipster333 @SaraK @Mireille @Poodles

I am forgetting some folks, but pleade chime in anyway

Glad you got car taken care of @AgilityDog. Can’t say that clothes help me remember better. But-you need to do whatever helps you most. I just keep in mind my mother always telling me to walk with shoulders up, and of course I keep repeating heel-toe.

Hahaha!
I think feeling more aware of posture and gait while wearing athletic clothes
is no different than feeling relaxed / tired when you put pj's on...
OR feeling sexy when you put on a little black dress...
OR feeling like a swim when wearing a swim suit....
You're a loveable hoot @AgilityDog You make me smile.
Hope you're having a great day!

That is so funny @MammaT ! When I hear "where are you at?" The next thing that pops into my brain (thanks mom) is "Behind the at". She always told me to sit & stand straight and to pull my shoulders back. Sometimes I think of a graceful ballerina. It helps me stand straighter, pull myself up taller, and walk with poise. I don't necessarily LOOK like a ballerina, but I pretend that I can walk like one and stand like one. In my mind,

Very happy for you, @AgilityDog
Easier to get healthy when you can move right?
So pleased you sounds so well.
Have a great day.
(And sit up!...no slouching):)
