@madinana We are both tired out, but after tomorrow we don't have the grandson until next wednesday.
Yes he walker had front wheels, after we got home he switched to crutches (easier with stairs). His walker we got for $10 at a yard sale, looks new - salvation army probably has some too.
We don't have a walk-in shower, so we bought a grab bar that attaches to the side of the tub. You can also install grab bars. We used seranwrap to go around his new knee to keep it dry. A shower chair because he was weak the first week or so. Make sure the chair will fit in your tub, some are too big. A few people just got those cheap lawn chairs.
Ice packs that wrap the knee sounds great. We use two - one in front one in back. I also bought a couple of new dishtowels to go under he icepack (dont want the knee to get too cold) New so there wouldn't be as many germs (I guess bleaching old ones would be okay, but mine are getting really old). He uses a ace bandage to hold his icepacks in place. You should end up with several of these from the hospital. Make sure you get the ones that are about 6" wide because the hold better and are less likely to roll up.
His doctor wants us to monitor his bp for a couple of weeks to make sure the new meds is doing what it should do. We have our own bp machine. He also had some blood work done just to check things. He was impressed with hubby's knee. Walking all over the hospital caused a little swelling, so it is elevate and ice. You know you
can ice and elevate now, and don't have to wait til the surgery?!
Forgot to add these, so here you go....
