@madinana The chair is because you won't be that stable on your feet at first and it will keep you from slipping. The tub attachment is simply a raised handle that clamps on to the side of the tub. There are many different types. It gives you something to hang on to as you lift your leg into the tub, it shouldn't mark your tub in any way.

@madinana Another hint - for your icemachine. Small soda and juice bottles will fit in it - fill them with water and freeze them. It will take less ice that way (our icemachine was going through ice faster than our ice maker could make it), expecially in the first week.

@msmechanic58 Are you asking how many days since everyones surgery? My husband's will be 3 weeks tomorrow. So I guess that is 20 days.

@tiredwife another very good idea, will start doing that today as my husband never did hook up my icemaker I find that to be an awesome idea. Once Again tiredwife saves the day:goodpost:

@madinana that was actually his PT's idea. We went through tons of ice the first week expecially. The machine is a little of a pain to move from place to place so we ended up leaving it in the bedroom (or what ever room you will sleep in). In the other rooms we use the freezable gel packs ( he got tons with each of his clean out surgeries). We have got it down to 6. He uses 2 at a time, one on the knee and one behind the knee. It doesn't take long for them to re-freeze.

My husband's attitude for the surgery was expect the worse and anything better is a plus. He has been through so many joint clean outs, etc in the last 8 years and came through them all fine so I wasn't too worried. He was expecting it to be worse than his operation on his achillies tendon, but it wasn't so he was happy about it.

Today his pain level has mostly just been a 2 (that little ache in the joint). Right now he is sitting at the dinning room table working on a model car. We got him a bunch to work on while recovering to keep him from being too bored. He also has lots of crossword puzzles to do. We also watch alot of Netflix with his leg raised in the recliner. Also watching our grandson, and visiting friends help cut the boredom. If you have a hobby you can do while sitting still you ought to stock up before your surgery.

You will do fine, and I hope you keep us posted.

@tiredwife I will. I am Glad your husband is doing so well. I am glad he is having a good day it sounds like he is finally on the up swing, Praise the Lord!!! When he is all better I will be sad as enjoyed you and if you don't post anymore. You have been such a joy to me and so full of tips. My husband said this is good site, as have gotten so much information and tips. I can not thank you enough or the moderators and everybody else. It helps with the fear, anixety and you are prepared and not :snork:. With being female I wonder if we can wear our underware :loll:I don't know what to pack for that, and not a question I have seen anybody ask?? I don't think your hubby can answer that for me,:rotfl:

@ madinana I know you can't have underware until the cathater is out, after that you can wear what ever you want as long as they have access to your knee. Even a bra is doable, you just put the IV bag through the strap before the arm. (I've had 2 c-sections, and a gal bladder removed).
Don't forget, my husband has to have his second knee done in August. Anyway I wouldn't desert you! I will keep checking and chatting with you.:console2:

No drawers! I was actually glad for none cause it was one less thing to fool with when trying to hobble to the toilet in time. Lol

as they say, "...as a jaybird." (Whatever that means!):snork:
From my research it simply means completely naked and usually implies being naked in a public setting and without embarrassment. That is a pretty good description as when they first got me up on my feet, then had me walking the halls some of me was "hanging out" from the back! I didn't care a bit as my focus was elsewhere.

Reminds me of the old man, Mr. Johnson, in the nursing home walking down the hall looking very sad and depressed. When asked what was wrong, he told nurse Nancy, "I am sad because my private member died." Nurse Nancy said she was sorry to hear that, just shook her head and moved on. The next day here comes Mr. Johnson walking down the hall with his privates hanging out. Nurse Nancy reprimanded him and told him he couldn't walk around like that. He said, "Nurse Nancy, I told you yesterday that my private member died. Well, today is the viewing!"
