Knocking those April Rainbows down one by one.....N-E-X-T
That be you @59billy we're coming after you....ready? :)

I'm happy to read that Billy. You're lucky to have so many go before you...so quickly.
I hope you're finding it comforting to see them all perky, happy and relieved.

As they can now tell you, we make a waaaay bigger deal out of it in our minds than it really is once we get to our surgery site. Look at all the friends you've made here. We'll all be sending you off with love and best wishes and anxiously awaiting your first post op message here. It's all good. I'm excited for you.

Sorry @Fairydell for my derail but I wanted to have a lil convo with, Billy. I know you understand.
@59billy

Hi everyone. My low blood pressure seems to be a bit of an issue but other than that it really was a walk in the park. Haven't been allowed out of bed yet so tomorrow might not be quite a walk in the park. I am loaded up with pain killers and am due to start injections this evening. I will say goodnight now as I am ready for a snooze. Thanks for all the messages of support. They really have lifted my spirits. X

Hi @Fairydell, I'm so happy to see you posting here already! The low blood pressure is common. I'm just happy to hear that you are eating, sleeping, and not it pain. I didn't get up until the second day, either. (my choice.) I bet you are so relieved that this surgery is done. Congratulations.

Thanks everyone. I had a snooze and have just had hot chocolate and biccies... They are looking after me really well. Antibiotics due at half past midnight then i hope to see how long i can sleep.

I have had a couple of hours sleep and am now sitting knitting a sock. Today might be a bit tough once I am allowed out of bed but I plan to do as I'm told and get this hip moving. Hope my fellow hippies are doing ok. We can get through this together. Xxx

@Fairydell
Getting in and out of bed is the worst bit so once you have done that the walk is not so difficult. Of course you will be very wary but head up and 'enjoy' your road to recovery.
Are the socks for you? I like knitting socks and have done several pairs.

Hello, yes the socks are for me. I am a sock knitting addict and have a lovely stash of yarn to work my way through

Thank you all for the lovely messages of support. It has really cheered me up to read them all.

I had my op yesterday morning and then spent all day and night in bed. I have been up for a little walk with a zimmer frame but my knee keeps collapsing. They plan to fit a brace this afternoon when they get me up again. The pain is nowhere near as bad as I expected.. That isn't to say that there isn't any pain but the nurses are keeping on top of it for me. I hope to get home tomorrow and can start my healing process. Have a lovely weekend everyone. I really do value your support and friendship. x

Hi Fairydell! Glad you’re doing well! Getting up and walking around will make you feel better....and tired! But you’re lucky you have a hobby to keep you occupied... I wish I could knit! Take care hippie buddy:)

Hi @beachlilly. How is the recovery going? I am having to wear a leg brace to stop my knee from buckling. I have had a couple of tries walking but still my knee just wants to collapse. It's exhausting all this sitting about doing not very much. I think I will be glad to get home tomorrow. I had an x ray today and apparently will try stairs tomorrow. More physio at 5pm but in the meantime they bring lovely biccies with the tea. Just having a rest in bed now. :elevate:
