THR Fairydell's recovery thread

Best Wishes tomorrow, @Fairydell
We'll be thinking of you and looking forward to your first post.
Wishing you comfort and a peaceful rest of the day and evening!

It will. It will all move quickly, like an assembly line. At least mine did.

They keep you busy and ask lots of questions. You repeat your name, birthdate and which hip you're having replaced many times to numerous people. Then they have you sign, or initial, your op leg and the surgeon will also. At least that's how they did it where I went through surgery. Assuming it's common and similar everywhere. If you're feeling anxious, they'll give you something to take the edge off. You'll wake up in recovery and wonder how the heck you got there :heehee:

You'll do great!!
Big hugs to you :friends:
@Fairydell

Thinking of you, I know tonight will be am anxious wait but tomorrow will fly by! And yes you will repeat your name and date of birth a thousand times before they operate :heehee:

I only today managed to finally get the arrow off my leg that the surgeon drew on before surgery!

Good luck! It will all be a distant memory soon!

Thanks @Rhiannon89 I am planning on going to bed quite soon and just reading my book and winding down. I am getting really nervous now but can't wait to get it all over with. How is your recovery coming along.?

@Fairydell good idea, try and relax which i know is harder said than done! Once it's over you will wonder what you've been worrying about :)

It's going really well thank you, 3 weeks tomorrow and I'm cleared to drive and swim and I mostly walk unaided. Most importantly that nagging arthritis pain (in that hip) is gone!

I'm thinking of your hard road to acceptance about what needed to be done to get you back to healthy and happy.
I know the injection was your last hurrah.
You are doing exactly what has to be done, needs to be done...and you are going to do beautifully!!
Healing hugs in advance, dear Fairydell.

:hi:Sleep all you can...ice all you can...and take those meds on time.
So glad to know you will now be on your way to a life with no hip pain.:happydance:
Healing hugs:console2:
