Jamie, I am trying to come up with something but as I said I am just now starting to use the computer. I promise that when I fingure it out I will have one, More than likely i will have to have my daughter help me or her husband. I can make quilts and design them because I can see how it works but the computer is not so visional. I am working on it and also trying to fiqure how to put my information down. Hang in there I will get there. :doggieshmooze::dancy::scratch:

I like the suggestions of juices/foods that people use to help pain and inflammation - lease keep the suggestions coming!.... we also have to be careful that natural foods and pills do not negatively affect any meds we take.

Regarding "overdoing it" - I sure wrote that book. As soon as I feel better (e.g., walking, I walk ad walk and then pay and pay.) I have learned to better plan so I will not pay so heavily.

We all had surgery to get rid of pain and be more active. I am hoping for walking without restrictions, biking, swimming, hiking - would love to play tennis but am afraid I will do damage. What are types of activities are y'all doing when healed?

this afternoon I am seeing a surgon nurse, thats all the far I get with doctor and if I don't get something answered I will change doctors. I'm so sick of getting the run around. I'm not satified with here are the pain pill, good by. As i have mentioned I now have a new doctor and I feel we can word this knee problems out together. I do have to admit I do get to :gaah::sick::arghh:of the same old thing. Tonight I hope I have a solution to start on the right track.

Tashia....I know these things can be rather confusing when you aren't used to computers or forums. But this process is actually fairly straightforward and I'm more than willing to help you. Give this a try, if you would:

Find the USER CONTROL PANEL link at either the top or bottom of the page. Click on it and a menu will appear on the left of your screen with a bunch of selections.

Go down the list until you see EDIT SIGNATURE and click on that. A block will appear just like the ones where you type your posts. Type in your surgery date and type (Example: TKR 12 Jan 2012) and hit save.

That's it! You should have a signature that appears in every post from that point on.

I do understand your fustration and I will hopefull take care of today or tomarrow. I have some question to ask. I found out today that all the pain is my muscles. I will now have physical execise for them. However I am wounding if I have a muscle disorder of some kind. I do know that overworking muscles are not good which I have done most of my life becasue of my work which was very phyicial. Good news I found that my left hip may not be as bad as thought before. However the left knee is in trouble and will need to be replaced. Next week i see a pain doctor so maybe another opion will help the put another piece in the puzzle to find out why I have so much pain. The weather has been so nice but we do need rain. Do you know of any things I do before I go sleep so I won't wake up in terrible pain? I have taken hot showers, herbal wrap and tiger balm. :yes 4::feedback:

Perhaps deep tissue massage may help. You might even get reimbursed by your insurance company. I go once a week.

If you follow any of my threads, I have been spurned by many "specialists" because my x-rays looked good (they do), EXCEPT when the OS who is going to do my revision enlarged the image. It appears that there is no cement there....
This is your body, you know it best.
Keep looking until you find a Dr.Who will listen to you and really go over all your tests. I went to 6 before I decided to go to the guy I went to for my 2nd opinion. I was reluctant to use him because he was out of my system. He still is. I don't care. I'm paying for it. I hope it will be worth it.

Thank you Trainwreck, it does get so frustrating trying to get your needs ment. I do have a new doctor that seems to listen to you, that is so refreshing. Also next week I see a pain speclist, I hope she can listen also. I do I am turing around but the knee replacement is almost 2 years old. I still wake up with the knee feeling locked and very painful. I also saw the xray of the left knee and it didn't look good at all. So life does go on and hang in there were all will make it. :yes 4::doggieshmooze::happy dance:

Well I'm awake with both knee pains and waiting for the medicane to take a hold. This coming week I think I mention I am going to see a pain doctor but to tell you the truth I did see my x-ray and my left knee doesn't look good. My new doctor things that because of the bad knee, my right knee is taking most of my weight. No dought he is right but the thought of operation right now I find it overwhelming. It hasn't been long enough since my hip surgry. This next week I hope to start going into the pool and do some walking there if all turns out right. Well I need to sign off. Jamie, I guess I'm better, Thank You asking. We having a real bad storm coming in and my knees are waking me up really sore. Once I get out of bed and do some walking, they stop hurting and I can go back to sleep. Because i'm waking in the night is why I'm have blue moments during the day. Question Do You have any good ideas on what to do before bedtime. I have tried, hot showers, herbs wraps warmed just before bedtime. Medication and use of creams use for muscle strains. I don't have a use of hot tub so thats out. However I have gotten lazy with my messages, not good. I have been going thru my teddy bear collection and having fun with them. Also found my puppets collection and having fun with them. Went shopping and got plenty of food so I won't have to go out in the rain unless I really have to. I've found my biggest problem is bordem so playing with the bears and puppets are helping the bordem. Also went thru my DVD and pulled out all the old classic and funny movies including Johnny Carson Highlights with animals that he use to bring on his shows. Because i can't unpack too many boxes I found going thru the things i have already in the bookcasses are like Christmas, I have totally forgotten about them. Have anyone you know tried yoga? I use to do it but most of it is done on the floor and that does concern me, getting up and down off the floor. I notice you live Kanas, are you on the plains and how about the storms. Because i lived in Colorado, Madison and New York, I'm aware on how ruff those storms can be. Stay safe and keep in touch.:doggieshmooze::ThankYou::flowerysmile:

Tashia, it's unfortunate that most of us can predict stormy weather or a cold front with our "new" joints & "old" joints....I just think of myself as my own personal meteorologist (sp) :th_heehee:

:feedback: I heard today that if you are on pain pills, you are to do nothing but lay down because if you do get busy while on them you could have a heart attack. Is this true?:scratch:

I'm certainly no expert, but I feel sure this is a product of the uninformed and misinformed. :what: Because if there's any truth to it, I would certainly be either dead or recovering from a heart attack.:th_heehee: Lots of people who are on pain meds for various reasons are living their daily lives doing whatever work they have to do with no ill effects. So, pleaseeeeeeee, RELAX! Judy

Thank you for your answers I also felt it didn't make sense, however this came from a doctor. The one thing I do have to remember is after the pain pills works to be careful not to do too much. Because I found I could hurt a meuscle and because I had the pills in me, I don't find out until after it wears off. Just Woke up and to take on the day. Am feeling a little better but the blues sure does sneak in and surprise me at times. :ThankYou: :doggieshmooze::yes 4::flowerysmile:

Now that the storm has come in my knees aren't as bad. I hope they don't hear me. :th_heehee: I just woke up from a nap, I hope I can get some sleep tonight. Tommarow I plan not to do much. I have some paper work to do and since the rain will be, why go out in it unless I have. I also have some housework to do. I'm thinking of making some of my chile, which is just great to make on days that are cold. Everyone take care. :doggieshmooze::yes 4::flowerysmile:
