THR beachlily'srecovery thread

Yep...reminds me of postnatal appointment at three weeks where doctor announced I was cleared for normal relations.
Hubby asked how appointment went and what he said about my recovery...
I answered "He says it will be 6 more weeks!":loll:

Hi @beachlily
Hope you are doing okay...looks like the twelve year olds like your thread.

Hi “ kids”! Slept well last night however I barely had any bed space due to Brody the cat curling up by feet AND Magnolia our collie decided that she too needed to be by me. Luckily she is pretty agile and jumped over me instead of on me:). She settled in behind my behind... I really have let my animals run amuck! No stomach issues today so far... I know this is crazy but I’m going to attempt to go out for quick lunch today with friends. This could be fun or an epic debacle:). Mustering up strength for the shower first....

Oh and as for “ relations “.... yeah that’s not happening anytime soon... sorry hubs.

I think you may just wipe yourself out with a lunch outing. Hopefully you can get dropped off at the door. The shower, getting ready, getting in and out of the car, walking any distance and sitting in a firm restaraunt chair for any length of time may have you longing for your comfy clothes and fave place to sit / crash at home.
I foresee a lazy evening and ice packs.
Hope I'm wrong. Doesn't mean you can't enjoy the meal and company while you're there.
Will be thinking of you. Let us know how it goes...
@beachlily

Shower and clean hair-ahhhhhh. Went for lunch with friends and hubby at local restaurant -no steps ( yay). Brought chair pad for cushioning hip. It was so good to be
“ normal “ for a little bit- now home feet propped up - ice on hip - sitting outside enjoying the sunshine and getting my vitamin D:). I’m sure a nap is next.

What IS Geritol?
I remember it was always advertised on the Lawrence Welk Show that I used to watch with my grandma as a young girl. I need to google this potion.

I am totally cracking up laughing :rotfl: I wondered if anyone would remember it!!! I remember my "Granny" using it back in the 60's.........it was like a super potent iron and vitamin supplement that believe it or not, I think came as a liquid too!!! Not positive about that, she took the pills. The old commercial for it would show people taking it and just bouncing all around with energy!!! Yep, I'm showing my age!!!
@Layla

I remember being given Geritol when I was a child for mild anemia. I seem to recall a good bit of alcohol in it. Hmm

I didn't realize that. :martini: What? It's just GERITOL!!!!! Google, is Geritol still available? :loll:
@SarahBee

And they still make the liquid....with alcohol :loll:

Must have been nice to see friends, that was very brave though! I maybe, might try closer to day 10 :)

@Carriemay60.. it was great to get together with friends even for an hour! It was good to talk about something other than my hip. Hahaha. Took a long nap late afternoon... I find I do get tired easily but to be expected I guess so early in recovery. I haven’t been able to follow everyone posts but I do hope you’re doing well my hippie friend:)
