I miss you too @Layla but Granny C is right by I am way busy I just sat down to eat it's after 8 PM here.... I am also tense so between the 2 ...then 2 sets of blood work ... tomorrow I have minor in the office ear surgery...then my family doctor on September 5 ...So much to do here besides my health I will be on much more AFTER surgery...
Face it I'll be stuck here lol
 
Lol @Mojo333 I use to live in WI we had to drive through Chicago to get back to our home towns.... I renamed Chicago say it slow lol. Hubby has been all over said Atlanta . Houston and LA are nightmare drives too.

I hope somehow you reach your friend I heard there is a thing on Facebook to check on family and friends but ?? Still the situation sucks and saddens me
 
GrannyC runs through thread @GrannyC I am indeed tense and busy thus not gonna be on much till after surgery. The situations in TX break my heart. I am so sad for the people and pets. I can't imagine.

Garden ....well um we have stuff but some of the tomatoes when cut into are ugh black. Much hasn't ripped yet we are in a small part of MI that's actually in drought condition. Still a couple of more weeks will be more telling.... I am trying to type and wash dishes 1 handed
 
I read but am not gonna swear that picture of the old....well older people waist deep in water was true @Layla ....So sad people and pets died and die...

I thought I would do a my friends in TX update all at once

My one friend just a little not much above Houston as of this A,M no water in house and Though stuck in is okay in fact....she got a job!!! How cool is that she's been looking and has had a bad year. I am sure she won't have to report right away.

My other friend stayed with her dog in a motel a few people chipped in online and got her the room at least through Thursday....
We believe she's lost her home. The cat we don't know till ...if...she can reach her neighbor who she left it with when she took the 2 he treck to San Antonio for her dogs vet visit. I hope she doesn't try to check on her place as I very no doubt it's gone..In the meantime she's helped a rescue group save ,130 pets by coordinate with people on Facebook with homes and trucks to get them

BTW I am NOT crabbing at you all... I type slowly and poorly and am afraid I won't be able to catch up in here... I hate to miss posts and hurt someone's feelings.

Surgery went very well today I'm on now cause hubby is walking dog in the park.... I'm in the car....

UPDATE on bowels...oh joy huh bit you've asked and I avoided till now cause I wanted good news off all meds for weeks now...so far all is Okay

Glad to hear all is well. Is there any recovery period for your ear surgery? It sounds like you're getting everything under control. I'm glad things are working out ok for your Texas friends. It's good your friend at the motel has been able to find a way to help others. Hopefully she will find a place to stay (maybe a shelter?) once her paid up time runs out at the motel. It is a very difficult situation there for so very many. It really is hard for me to imagine all that devastation.
 
GrannyC @GrannyC I am pretty much well right away. I get this now and then and would never risk it so close to the big surgery if not. At worse I'd feel light-headed.

My friend ....the one....she never mentioned the cat but they got home and she lives in a trailer....she was very blessed her yard is a mess one roof thing was off a dog house.... pretty much it's OK thanks I saw this from her tonight and was yay.

If the place had not been Ok she could not go to a shelter as her dog is I'll and Very aggressive towards other dogs. But it's all good now...for them

I cannot imagine the hell these people are going through... They evacuated that nursing home with people waist deep in water and those poor people need wheelchairs and walkers canes etc.... I need mine right now but they will need them for some time and anyone who has them to donate could send them to the many legit charities in Texas.....Night I came on to check on froggymom and lerwick
 
Great thoughts about walkers and canes MAG. I will check into that. An organization here is planning on sending a truck but will obviously be many weeks before they will be able to get in. Did great from one friend. She left prior, but her new home is a total loss.
I'm thinking of you my favorite nut, I know you are anxious. I would be too.
You are gonna do great but hate you have to start over.
@GrannyC Hope you have also been doing well. I haven't been on too much as it has been hectic work and family wise.

@MyAussieGirl hello MySofaGirl (love that one) I know you are stressed about many many things, and we are here to take the load off you a little.

I've heard and read that cash donations to one or another well-established charity are what can help Texans now, as cash will buy what's needed until the digging out begins. Cash and prayers...
 
Just a drive by post for now ....yes cash is good. The but on TV last night they did say the nursing homes where they we're saving people ...the boats could not take the wheelchairs, walkers canes etc....but....they need them. I can't and I know others who can't pay 179.00 for a walker. But some have them...trucks are collecting them and then they will be delivered. I think all ways of helping are good. I love Samaritans Purse and my church but won't forget if needed still someone who lost all needs my Walker...I see them a lot at Goodwill too
 
My friend said a loaf of bread that cost 2 last week is 475 today...she left it and went home to make some

Oh @Layla I keep meaning to tell you our weather has been at night so cool the beach can't be done. The water Temp is like 50-60 ....Brrr. I fear I may not get there again this year it's been wow about 2 weeks

You could actually put that cold water to use with your second hip-- waterproof it somehow and then go stick your hip and/or leg in the water!!
 
My one friend went to the store a week ago bread was 200 today 475. As her home is OK and she had the stuff she's baking bread and giving it away. I'm proud of her
