THR Aussie's Posterior LTHR

Good Luck toba speedy recovery JimJam!! Welcome to the other side!! My hubbie did everything for me the first week or so...take advantage of it..."For better or worse" "in sickness and in health" we were laughing about it after 40 years...your body will let you know...don't overdue it...you will take steps backwards...test and ice and elevate us good and walk a little every few hours...you will see how it gets better and better!!! I am only 3 weeks post op and so happy I did it!! The post op situation was well worth it...the pre op pain was horrible!! Good luck to you and let us know your progress!!! Hugs

Thanks Donnarita I didn't know they had a lower sugar Gatorade.

Did you mean the next post to be posted somewhere else ?

MyAussieGirl, I hope this finds your tummy settled down and that you are doing better. You have had a rough week. Is the dog in your picture your newer dog? What is his/her name? Maybe you can get back to the beach now if the weather is ok. Take care.

I am in a panic to be honest it scares me to maybe face withdrawal.
The chances of you suffering withdrawal are so slight you don't even need to think about it.
Edited to add your article end at 1 pill...where do people go from there like me please?
They just stop! If it happens that they do get any bad symptoms, they can always take the odd pill every day or so for another week. But really, I do think you're getting too worked up about this.

GrannyC thank you it's about 90 per cent on the tummy. I am still eating bland may add a new item a meal as my stool looks firmer ...Again thank you for asking. I did go to the beach today after church. The water was pretty warm and it was in the 80s a nice day and time at both.

The dog in the picture is my new dog we've had him 5 months tomorrow. His name came with him it's Cooper. He is an Australian Shepherd mix with German Shepherd or they say Australian Cattle Dog. My order dog was a yellow lab like your Daisy only Shadow was what the show folk call Foxy Red ears and back a little redder than your girl .... Shadow was more my dog . Cooper is semi hostile to women we think abused but I don't know. Huge hugs as always thank you for being you always Kind

Bless you @Josephine mega thank you. So many of us would be lost without you and your nursing experience. I am on day 2 at half a pill and to be honest I don't think I feel any different.

I know you are correct at my being worked up. I am for some odd reason more tense and have more anxious feeling than I was facing the surgery. Throws hands up and smiles go figure. I think my anxiety is like an after effect.

Again thank you

We all get that, my dear! It's part and parcel of the deal. Just go with the flow, as they say!

Again thank you @Josephine I feel a lot better. I was at the lake today thinking "what's the matter with me, I am so worried on things I have gone years not thinking twice about" then it hit me.... I started this just recently yet was cool as a cucumber before. Thanks for letting me know this too is semi normal.

If you don't want me to tag you after a reply, minus when I need further information please let me know I know these boards are huge and busy.

Thanks.

Think it is a very normal but good thing that we can hold it together someone's during a crisis or trauma... And only when it's all over do we suddenly lose it.
Don't like that you have this upset tummy thing going on. Hope it gets gone soon

Hi Mojo 333. I agree to some extent but hate how I've been feeling mind and body it's a huge drain on me and I am a drag to be around or just acting. I don't feel much like acting today on 4 lousy hours sleep ... I love you girl thanks so much for being here for me. This bug is not fun .

@cpollock Thank you sweetie no it took a turn I thought I was pretty much done then this AM very loose stool .... I wanna cry it's been almost a week. You're a good friend thanks for checking on me ...right now I'm frustrated.

Eyes perk body up @Josephine I have to petal at you...hope you meant it. I had to go to Urgent Care on the night of the 11th. They are unclear but said it is either a virus, food poisoning or a delayed effect of the stool softeners and a very high fiber diet. So I have taken the antibiotics they gave me and am on a bland diet. They said to take Kaeopectate in 48 hrs if it doesn't stop. At 48 I had 2 nights of pretty normal. Last night usual potty time but late in stool very soft. I will now do the Kaeopectate. He told me if that doesn't stop it to follow up with my family doctor. I am afraid to eat or drink I'm so discouraged. Should I just go see my family doctor or is 5 days normal for any of these 3 issues. As always thank you. I am getting depressed

Ugh now I have a small rash on the back of .my legs ... today a small. Patch on inner arm

Hi MyAussieGirl,
I'm sorry you're feeling so under the weather. Has anyone suggested you get on a good pro-biotic? I think it may ease your tummy and intestinal issues which may be a result of the narcotics and over the counter meds.
It's definitely worth a try. Most of us could probably use one for multiple reasons. Do a little online research when you're able and see if you come to the same conclusion.
I wish you well!
