Hi dear,
Sorry about your loss. İ hope you are better today.
Keep well and take care of yourself
Selin

Thanks everyone, i think it's just a shock, even if you know someone is not well. X
I'm feeling ok, my hip feels fine, just feels a bit padded at the cheek. And my walking is improving all the time x

Chris when i was small i would hide behind her couch, so that she could announce for me to jump out and sing. She came to the fence at sports days, even though i was always last with my egg and spoon. I made an egg person one easter and won a prize at school, and she kept the egg on top of her tv, even after it fell and cracked and smelled awful, she had it for years. She took me for walks through the Glen, visiting family and i always loved staying with her, she would play cards for pennies and always told me stories. X. She will be missed. But i will always have a smile when i think of her.

I'm sorry for your loss. :console2: She sounds like a very special person and you were lucky to have each other.

Glad to hear that you are recovering well though. :friends: I know she would want that for you.

Thanks Chris. She was. X
I'm four weeks shiny hip this tues. Trying to get back to normal. Op feels like a distant memory. But sometimes I forget and go upstairs one foot then next. It feels a bit weird and my knee feels it, not hip. I don't know if im doing any harm. Surely if I've no hip pain, that's ok? I feel ok for work as well. ( petrol drive through so no shelves to stack, mainly sitting taking cash. Someone else with me.) But not got my check up til 11th April and my doc says I can only go back when surgeon agrees.

Hi Aud, I had the knee pain for months post op....not saying you will mind, just saying it is a common issue, it does right itself in time.

Not long now until your check up, try to make the most of your time off work, resting up and healing. Hopefully once you return to work you will be able to take short breaks to have a bit of a move around.

Take care

Ann

Hi....I have knee pain but then discovered that the ITB that runs from the pelvis to the tibia was sore along its length
I have little knee swelling so guess the cause of pain is the ITB that has a focus on my knee
Clifford

Thanks Annie and Clifford. X. I just feel at a loose end. Lol
My mum says that if she tells someone I've had my hip replaced, they say... bit young for that. And she says. . Not really, took 42 years of pain. Ha ha. :rofsign:

And im so pleased. I can lift my leg. Whoooohooooo....... it's the little things. Lifting you're leg and no cracking sounds. X

Hi...great news the leg lift...its a key one for building strength...the next challenge for me is the clam....gluteus medius. Plays a key role of locking in your hip and minimising dislocation.....but its steady as you go and sounds like you are doing well :). :). Clifford

Clifford and Aud, have you considered the foam roller? It is brilliant for getting rid of those tight areas along the the thigh and other areas too. It really helped me a lot.

Fantastic news about the silent leg lifting Aud :)

I was about to tell hubby, then thought. ... naaaah. Then they know I'm getting stronger. Lol. Oooh foam roller? Is that what it's called?. X. Ta
Aud

Hi....yes a good solution but I don't feel confident to use....how many weeks postop. Did you use it
Clifford

Clifford, of course if you have restrictions or cannot get up and down from the floor just yet then it is too soon for the roller. clifford, you don't have your surgery date at the bottom of your posts but I know it was quite recent. You can knead your tight areas with your knuckles for now if that is the case.

It was a few months in when I first was introduced to it by my PT and it made a huge difference. I went straight out and bought one and still use it now when I feel the tightness. It does hurt at first but after a few sessions that wears off and then you know it is working.

Aud, do you have restrictions, I can't remember you mentioning it and what with your ladder climbing athletics it makes me think you don't. :)
