Aww sweets thanks for sharing. My scar was flat...NO puffiness since surgery and now it's PUFFED. Blech.

SO I go to PT....leg cramps are all muscle aches. MY PT is good. Sal the Sailor with Smokers breath. He got a hair cut. I noticed and said something. He smiled lol.

I head to Surgeons. Oh no....we get there 20 minutes of a drive and no they apparantly told me they rescheduled till next week...well that won't work so it's this Wednesday morning. Glad we drove all the way there.

So we had a nice breakfast at a cute little diner in town. I ate like I was starved for years. It was good to see the waitstaff (ok, ok I may be a regular).....but it was sooo good. ESP this thick break French toast they serve...with powered sugar....yummmmo...best stuff ever.

SO hubs is NOT in a good mood today and it's peeing me off. He is moody as hell. He goes into work at 1 and well.....hopefully whatever is going on he can get it figured out. I already feel guilty that he has to work two jobs and cart my big butt everywhere....but he can just tell me and I will figure it out on my own. I could walk to PT if need be it's NOT that far. This is where my brain kicks in and is like you are FINE to go back to work mind over matter mind over matter.

Pain is about a 3 today. Only because I really worked hard in PT.

I can deal. :)

Hi Karringtyn, just read one of your post on Suzee 2000 that your extension was 10. I was able to get my extension to 0 by accident when I folded a towel to raise my heels off the bed as they were tender. I think gravity just let it sink till the back of my knee touched the bed. Fold it thick enough to just get your heels off bed. If it is too high it makes your knee hurt. Just wanted to pass my tip along to you.

Been reading some of your thread and you are an inspiration. The French toast sounds good I had some yesterday at my diner!

Take care Charlotte

I have had muscle cramps for years and the only thing that stops me from having them is magnesium 400 MGM a day. It is a natural muscle relaxer. You can buy them in the vitamin section anywhere. My dr. Recommended them.

@MS Char thanks for that tip. I am getting there. I can almost touch my back of my knee to the mattress....so I KNOW it's no longer a 10. How are you feeling?? Magnesium 400 mgm? Interesting...hubs is a body builder...I will have to see what he says about that..I am sure he has some...

Karringtyn
I am doing better today I started cutting back on OxyContin 20 MGM. I am only going to take it at night for a few days. Pain has gone down considerably. I have soreness going down my leg on outside, not as tender but still there. I have also been able to sit with my leg down as in chair without having to raise it, and I have been able to put my get my foot in sneakers while sitting. I have slightly more bend. At church Sunday I was able to kneel, I didn't keep my whole weight on my R knee but when I did at one point it didn't hurt. Not so cranky either. Lol, I think I'm going to make!

I still haven't gone back to my regular church yet but soon, I've had a sinus infection this past week so was not feeling well from that. Maybe next week.

Half where there. Well in my mind my goal has been 12 weeks. I can't believe in some ways its been 6 weeks and others it's like it's ONLY been 6 weeks. I have a horrible stomach ache today...so been snoozing a lot because of that bug. Blech. But knee feels good. Pain is about a three today. Tomorrow is PT at 8 and then 6 week check up at 9:40. I have been told over and over NOT to focus on the numbers because for everyone it is different. It has so much to do with how things were BEFORE surgery and why you had surgery in the first place. I am trying to remember how horrible the bend was on my RK...but anyway...yesterday my ROM got to 110. I was ecstatic. I am going to have him measure my extension tomorrow because I can feel the back of my knee on my mattress and oh what a good feeling. That has been years. Also going to chat with him about my meds. I now take Perc 10-325 every 4 hours. I can tell about hour 5 that it's wearing off....but I HATE how yucky I feel on that med. SO ready for something "lighter." Hope everyone is well today.

Belly is better. I have just ordered food for the kiddos from Pizza Hut. Middle daughter doesn't live with me and she along with other two are here....she says this when she sees me walking.

OMG MOM. You LOOK BEAUTIFUL. I AM SO proud of you. I bowed. I said I do don't I?! :)

@Nana Mo @Nana moon 27 @icep707 @susanne @MS Char @suzzee2000 @dogwheels @Ellejay @braindoc @Pumpkln and EVERYONE else...
6 week checkup was today. Two words. POSTER CHILD.

My doc said I am amazing. He said YOU . YOU have far surpassed EVERY expectation I have of anyone at 6 weeks! He looked at scar. Said it was wider because I am younger and have better skin...one of the draw backs of being young with this surgery. Said with his older patients there is barely a scar.

My ROM was 115 in PT today...Extention was about a 3.

I worked out HARD for an hour. NO pain. EXHAUSTED now.

I am driving all over the place in my new cute SUV that was bought for me right before surgery...so I am tooling around. Looks like Friday I can have sunroof open and music cranked...suppose to be NICE out...high near 60.

Do I hurt? Of course. I am learning.

Our van wasn't charged enough so I had to run hubs to work in my Terrain and it was about a 20 minute drive. I had so much fun. Never have driven him to work before. So when I was leaving I had to scan the card to lift gate...but was too far from scanner...so I tried the whole...one foot on brake leaning out with door open...yeah I was a joke to watch I am sure.

At least I looked cute lol. Hair all down...curled...make up on.....I feel so alive again.

I have to drive back at 9:30 tonight to get hubs...so little one is going with me and we are going to get treats at Dunkin Donuts......ahhh I am driving again...I am no longer a prisoner.

I am changing meds. Vicodin and Meloxicam. He said I KNEW you would want something less..I know you and your thing with pain meds. I am going to finish out percs.

I have a nasty stomach bug and had to stop at the store and get pepto and the guy cashier was all flirting with me...lol I was talking about my knee replacement and he was like "you look good"...I was thinking oh dear God has it been that long since I have been out and about that a simple compliment is making me blush muhahah.

Great news and so good to hear you upbeat. Now aren't you glad you didn't give up on this last week????:dancy::yes!:

Well done @Karringtyn I'm over the moon for you. Well done. However, please, please, please be careful don't be lulled into a false sense of security because you feel better. This is what and where I went totally wrong. Anyway well done you Poster Child!!! Xoxoxoxo love Nana moon 27 xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

@susanne it's the getting out of the car I am having a hard time doing lol. My foot keeps getting caught. I have to do it slower.

Thank you all for the encouragement.

I hurt right now. I have slept a 2 hour nap tonight......I am doing this very slowly. I know I am sure people are worried. Trust me I am NOT going to go all gung ho.

I didn't even ask to return to work. I asked him if I could go back at 12 weeks. He smiled. He said....YES. He wrote the slip up and said....IF you think you aren't ready or your PT doesn't...please call and I will adjust that.

Just very happy.

Excellent report!
Glad you have an OS who understands that you may need to adjust your return to work date.
:happydance:

I cant do this no more !! Im kidding . Im so glad you are doing so much better. It puts a great big smile on my face. I was really worried about you , kiddo. Watch out though, I get kidnapped from time to time without my meds and before you know it , it 5 -6 hours later. By the time I get home , im alittle swollen. I love the fact that the cracking, popping noise from bone on bone is gone. I feel great since Monday. That was my 6 week mark and im really stepping up my workouts. Driving is the best. I get unlimited car washes and my ride is so clean !! Spring is here in California. Well congratulations on the daily victories !!! Iceman
