Hi toothfairy, I'm sorry to hear work is so hectic, you don't need that at the moment  Will it all be looked after when you are off ? You don't need to be worrying about that whilst you are having your BoneSmarties style recovery :egypdance:.

Im ok, bit more pain today though as the nerves are coming back to life or whatever they are doing. Seeing dr on tues to discuss meds, she will know what to do as I think I'm gonna need a bit more of something to get through.

Had a rough night! Awake for hours then deep sleep from about 5, but I know this is just partof the early road.

Well I hope you have a nice weekend, mine will be more of the same hard partying! :yahoo:

Take care x

Hi Fernie, I am so sorry you are in pain again :(:puppysmooze: Early days. Once you get your pain meds under control hope you are back on top of the world  I love reading your posts and you have kept me inspired:SUNsmile:
I am happy to call so many of you good friends now. Sorry our times clash. I am off to see the GP in the morning. I am pretty sore and hope she has some ideas. I have to get the physio sorted out to. I am keeping up with all I have learnt so far and been reading my book which helps a lot.

David has been fantastic and I hope if he ever needs me I can help as much as he has. :giggle: The dogs have been amazing and a great help just knowing they are here.

It is that time of day to sleep like a babe or toss and turn. I think I shall be sleeping    Will try and catch up with a few more of you tomorrow. Hugs to everyone xxx Miss you all so much :boohoo:

Hey Chinook, it's so good to see you back :happydance:. Ihope you are doing ok, I'll check out your thread.

You must not be sore so I'm sure the dr will help. Looks like I'mfinally on top of my meds by its taken over 2 weeks, I just didn't anticipate how bad I would feel.

Now are you sleeping ok as I know you were worried about not being able to sleep on your side. Pop a pillow lengthways from thigh to knee between your legs and you'llget comfy. On my right side, I put my good right across the bad leg and it somehow works.

Im glad David as been good, my hubby has as well but 3 weeks in, I think it's starting to lose its appeal somewhat!

i started my proper physio a 2 weeks and it went really well. Make sure you rest lots and lots andtake things really easy, catch up v soon.

Taje Care, Big hugs to you my friend :friends:, Fernie xx

robynhood. Hi Pat, I just feel that I want to start getting the scar down now, guess I'm being impatient really, as usual :loll:im more a shower than bath girl, but you know, I'd give a lot right now to sink into a deep bubble bath with a big glass of wine and relax with some candles...... How Good does that sound? Unfortunately, if I got in a bath today I'd never get out of it so I'd best wait til I can bend and submerge this bionic joint of mine :heehee:

Bike, yes my little half rotations, am taking it very easy indeed, don't think it willbe too long before I can do a backward rotation though and the bike seat is on a v high setting. :bicycle1:

Shame I wasn't so tired as I want to do :dancy: And :spin:.

Pat, as always, take care and I do hope you are feeling good today. Fernie

Hi Fernie,
I hope you had a delicious lunch.
Sounds like you have a very sound plan in place for going back to work, very organised.
I have read all my hospital stuff again today. It seems much more relevant now than it did the last twice I read it. I have also started thinking about what I need to take with me. Slight butterflies now but generally calm.
Do you have friends who can help with the school run? I am sure it will all work out fine as long as you pace yourself through the day to be ready for the after school fun.
It is good to hear you saying you are having lunch with friends, not so long since you were feeling so grim that you couldn't imagine enjoying eating ever again! I know you have had some rough times but overall I think you are a real star and doing very well.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will do well too but time will tell.
I certainly think reading recovery threads on here has given me a much more realistic idea of what to expect.
Have a good evening and sleep well tonight,
Toothfairy x :happydance: :yay:

Hi toothfairy, lunch was nice thanks and it was good to see some friends, mind yo I feel like I've been on here half the day catching up with everyone. :heehee:

Im glad you think my return plan is ok, don't think it's too ambitious but time will tell. I'm hoping to join hubby on one of the school runs tomorrow so I can catch up with the mums and hopefully sort some lifts out for nx couple weeks til I can drive! I Think you are spot on about pacing myself until everything is back to normal.

Like most women, I do pack a lot into my day, most of it essential stuff! And when we are forced into major downtime like this, it's hard to build it all back up again. But I'll take it in my stride.

I reckon you'll do fine and I'll be here to help you every step of the way, along with all the other BoneSmarties.

Everyone cares so much and is looking out for you don't forget that.

Hope you enjoyed seeing your friend and had a good Natter.

"Lessons learned, and Journey towards Recovery!" Sonja, What a super idea. I am sure the book would be a best seller :):goodpost: Put me down for one... see sold already!!!!! :friends: :iagree:

Yes, that would be a great idea wouldn't it! Well, when I finish my Master's and my practicum ...... LOL. :happydance:

Hi Chinook , hope you are ok. No glass of wine and bath for me yet :boohoo: I'm not allowed to submerge my leg yet, although hopefully soon and alcohol with my meds would finish me off I think.

Lack of sleep is my problem at the moment, and I'm not getting much more than 3 or 4 hours the past 3 nights. I wasnt doing bad as Toothfairy was supplying me with sleepy fairy dust, but I dunno, think the last batch must be past it's best :giggle:.

Bye for now fx

are wonderful and what keep us going!!!! Tuck these away to bring out and look at when things are going so good. It will help you keep from dwelling on how far you have to go rather than how far you've come.

That is fantastic news Fernie, :cheers2: and only 3 weeks post surgery. You are doing so well. I expect you will be tired tonight, put your feet up and relax, you deserve it. I am so pleased for you and so very proud of you. Hooray.

Hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray.
:goodpost:

:thankyou: Toothfairy. Trust me, it's an amazing feeling, I nearly wept with joy. My physio was beaming, she is so pleaSed for me as she knows how much I want to get on. But, she still cautioned me and said to keep going slowly so we avoid setbacks. So basic exercises and add on a bit more outside walking and of course if it hurts later, to cut back next day. She is brilliant and I get cross when I hear how some of the Physios are pushing and hurting people. I hope your own physio is as good.

Hope you had a good day, have you packed? I'm sure jethuggerr can give you some tips! She is so funny!

Another top tip, get a long handled wash sponge thing as it may hurt to bend down and wash feet etc at first. :)

Not long now. Sleep tight. Fernie x

Well I go offline for five minutes and look what youve done. CONGRATULATIONS Fernie on your brilliant results. What a clever girl you are. It really does cheer you up dosent it when you get some good results after days of pain and swelling and wondering if you are doing everything right. I am really pleased for you x x
