I sure do agree with this train of thought. Was going to say the very same thing.Be sure and ask the surgeon. Therapists and nurses often pass on old information just out of habit.
I am so excited for you and can't wait for your recovery updates/

This just doesn't make any sense. Glad you are calling to get clarification. The therapist told me they definitely don‘t like to use crutches,

You know crutches is all i used in the first 6 days until I was able to drop down to one elbow crutch. I found I had a more freedom and ability to downsize to one aid if needed and still be supported with using crutches(elbow crutches). I would honestly go with what YOU are more comfortable with. The key as you know is to not overdo it. For myself(and 2 other people I know), crutches were the perfect tool to use Especially because walkers did not always fit some of the areas of the house. Narrow section to and from the bathroom were easier with crutches than a walker, and by the end of day 1 I realized that crutches were just easier to handle and maneuvers. The therapist told me they definitely don‘t like to use crutches, so there won’t be any of those. I’m calling the surgeon‘s office on Monday to ask about it.
Somehow I don’t see me hopping around with my Devil Dog of a puppy. The more I think about it, the more I believe the therapist made a mistake.
Ouch! Please baby that bad hip. How does it feel now? Do you have a cane or crutch to use in these last days before surgery? It actually felt like the joint moved sideways!
