THR Turning point

You can have my old recliner if you want to come get it - I kicked it to the curb Saturday when my new recliner was delivered!

Woohoo @SaraK ! I'll just run over and pick it up!

Done with ultrasound with the problem #2...ovarian mass. I guess it's good news that it hasn't grown and just the same as it was in December. Will hear more by Monday from the Gynocologist. The good news I have hit my out of pocket on my insurance. Sigh........

Did that last year before my second THR. Not a fun year! On the other hand, figure out any possible tests or procedures you need and get them done while they're free.:rotfl:

Hey ya Poodles,
Nothing like home sweet home to lift our spirits. I bet you had quit a reception when your poodles saw you. Our dogs helped me so much thru recovery. Their antics always made me laugh! Our little 4 legged angles. All the dogs have their ways to keep me movin. There all a bunch of freebie freaks. I have to hide their toys for now or they will wear me out.Thank goodness for reachers!

Your poodles are Gorgeous!
See Below pic of mine Xmas all together .

Pleased to hear that the ultrasound showed no increase. Hope all goes well with your gynaecologist on Monday. Glad that your medical costs are now fully covered

Good luck with follow up on Monday. I agree no change sounds good. I am also hitting my out of pocket for the year. Hopefully the only free stuff I get the rest of the year s the routine stuff.

Try to get some rest and relax this weekend.

Hi @Poodles
Great news all is the same as in December and it hasn't grown.
Best of luck with your appointment on Monday.
I hope you have a relaxing weekend with Gary and the boys!

@Hippielife your dogs are gorgeous! You've got quite a handful there, my 2 keep me on my toes :dancy:

@Poodles glad you've had some good news from the ultrasound.....hope it's even better when you see the gynae. In the meantime have a good weekend and share the love with your boys :puppysmooze:

:happyfeet: I know you haven't got a penguin but I think he's so cute :rofsign:

Thank @Poodles. We had dogs for several years, an English setter and a German Shepherd. We ended up with the cats via our sons when they couldn't keep them. Was supposed to be short term, 8 years later I think they are mine. Dogs have passed on. Don’t know if I will replace them or not.

@Hippielife @anny I think we have enough dogs between the 3 of us to exercise the group! I have the fast, medium and slow speeds. I want to try to take the old man out to the mailbox today. Need to do it before the snow falls.

@MammaT It is, for us a lifestyle choice having the boys and I would think twice if it had not been a lifestyle choice. We rarely, if ever, travel without them. Gary and I both dislike flying...it's too stressful...unless we can go with a private pilot. If/when I retire (I enjoy what I do), we will sell this house, and travel in the motorhome until we find the right place to move...most likely in Oregon. After losing my husbands best friend 3 weeks ago, we have realized it is important to have friends and family nearby.

The kitty in your picture has the best eyes! Just beautiful and grabs me every time I see the picture. I understand about replacing the dogs! It would be hard for me.

Agree with you on life style choice. I fly to see my kids in Arizona and hopefully in retirement will do more and stay longer. It is easier to get someone to check on cats every few days than take care of dog. Doesn’t seem right to kennel a lot. And yes, @Poodles, we do start thinking about being close to those we love.

Hey ya Poodles,
I don't show any more did for many years and agility. I have 6 dogs all rescues and never a dull moment.
Do you show? Your pups are so magnificent great to show. It's a lot of work I always had trouble with the blure merle sheltie a neutered male had to always mark his territory in the ring, the girls were fine.
One new kid .

@Hippielife Isaac (the youngest) and I were on our way up the Obedience ladder, but have been interrupted twice with my hips. So, rather than continue with Obedience, I will pursue rally, barn hunt, coursing, nose work, etc. Our coach doesn't know that yet...we have taken private lessons for years. He has 16 /assorted titles. The title I am the proudest of is his 200th therapy dog visit! He earned a silver medal from AKC for that. We are working on a Gold title, but it is 400 visits and will take another year at least to obtain. At best, I'm only good for 150 or so visits a year with work, too. I also test therapy dog teams.

We have had several rescue Standards over the years and I have loved them all. Sweet Henry (planned), our 14-year-old has doggie dementia and is difficult at best some days. I have been using cannabis at night to settle him so he sleeps rather than wandering. Foster, the blue and white boy started out as a foster dog at 5 months. Uh...he stayed. :) He had a bad start with women and is a MAN's dog! Rare at best to have a dog go to a man first, but he doesn't trust a woman.

I just love the picture of all your fur kids! Thank you for sharing them.

Wow @Poodles you and your dogs are certainly busy! When I first decided to get a puppy 'of my own' (had dogs all my life, but when the children came I tried to stand back a bit so that the dogs would bond with them not me cos I wanted them to grow up loving the furry mutts as much as I do.) I wanted to train it as a therapy dog....enter Charlie now 9, so sweet and affectionate but also highly strung and what a wuss....definitely not therapy material  Joey was Charlie's 2nd birthday present, and much more laid back. The 3 of us did a lot of obedience classes and Joey was heading for Therapy dog, but then we moved too far away from the organisation which organised certification and intro to hospitals etc. I suspect that the US has many more setups for that sort of thing than NZ with its 4 million pop! :sigh:

@Poodles when we rescued Lola, I wanted to enroll in therapy doggie school. My dad lived with us his last days and his cat and our two pups gave him so much joy!

Lola was not the right temperament. She showed she was obviously abused by a man and Can be timid or sometimes does the submissive urination. So we scratched that from my wish list. She is perfect for our family and feels safe here.

While I was in the hospital they brought abstandard poodle around to lay with you and cuddle. I LOVED IT!!!

@Walkinginthesand @anny Oh love hearing about the dogs and your relationships with them. It's true not all are cut out for therapy dog work and although Isaac has been tested multiple times...including for Crisis Response which is held to an even higher standard, I worry that he gets put under too much stress. He and I are certainly a team and it has been difficult to keep him focused on the job and NOT on protecting me. Last hip replacement he became very protective of me and wouldn't let anyone come close. SIGH. So we trained and trained and trained. He is still watchful if someone he doesn't know comes in my office.

I just ordered a Fitbit Alta thanks to a discussion on Agilitydog's page with her and MammaT. I am walking around the house without the cane now. Kinda. At least for the most part. I rested all day yesterday and it paid off BIG TIME. I was bored out of my mind, but it helped a lot. Thank you to the Olympics and a good book. It was a noticeable difference this morning. We will see what today brings. Snowing so won't be going far.

:puppysmooze::puppysmooze:@Poodles i had to laugh last night. I slept in the guest room, just could not get comfortable. Miss Lola came and cuddled close and we slept. My husband came to put her to bed (she loves her kennel) about 2 hours later. Lola laid across me and growled. He had to turn on the light to convince her she knew and loved him. We love them and they love us.
