THR Turning point

@Layla Thank you and I wish you a happy weekend, too. I'm looking forward to sleeping past 6am for 3 days. :sleeep: I think we need a new family portrait of the boys this weekend...with all poodle 4 boys...that should be a bit sporty since the new guy doesn't understand "stay". I'm excited for Hospice volunteer class on Saturday. Sunday I have therapy dog teams to test...and I enjoy that.

Next weekend we'll rest because we will be glamping again. Then it's movies, books, cards and walks...at least to the campground dog park. :dogwalk: And I will ask Gary to take my bike for me. :biking: Not sure what it will take to convince him. :praying:

Took a four and a half hour car trip over the weekend. Went to hobby lobby with sister in law and walked all OVER the store redoing her mantle. MY HIP HURTS TODAY!!! Bed in the hotel was so hard and difficult to sleep. Ice all day today- nap also. But it was so fun to be OUT AND ABOUT.

@SaraK are your ice things the old kinda ones with the screw on lids? I got wet on our trip because the baggies leaked. :heehee:

Yes, I have the ones with the screw on lids. The ones at CVS and Walgreen's, though, didn't last. With constant use over a week or so, they lost their waterproofing and I got wet through the fabric. The KooCare that I got through Amazon worked much better. Didn't lose the waterproofing and the lids had a rubber o-ring that helped to make the seal tighter.

I'm sorry your hip hurts today @Walkinginthesand but glad you enjoyed the outing! Hopefully a day of rest will put you back in the pink!

@Walkinginthesand It feels so good to get out and about, doesn't it? I'm not so sure about the 4 1/2 hour car trip though!!! So sorry you hip hurts today, but we all do things we possibly shouldn't, then pay the price after, and it's FUN when we are doing it. I know I have. I'm sure that hotel bed must have a lot to do with your extra pain.

I just came back from a walk around the hangar where our office is located. Gravel areas in the parking lot not so good to walk on, but the pavement on the taxiway for the planes was NICE!

My bike can't go camping with us this weekend. Sigh... Possible snow and heavy winds and my husband would rather not take extras. We're still going to go, and won't worry about the weather. We'll walk when we can and read or play cards, maybe watch a movie when we are stuck inside. It's Central Oregon, so the weather is changing all day long.

Have a good week everyone!

I might be coming to a turning point??? @Layla if you can change my thread title, I would like it to be "Turning Point?". :walking:

What a difference it has been the last two days. The stiffness I have struggled with (a lot) is much less for some reason...and I don't know what I did, or what has changed. I can now stand up from my desk chair in my office (my home recliner is still a different story), stretch, and walk with little to no stiffness and pain. It's amazing. I just came back from a walk around the building...my FitBit told me I hadn't moved in an hour and an interesting plane (Italian) had just come in and I took Jameson (the puppy) out with me. My office is in a converted airplane hangar. It's like 587 steps or something similar around the building. I still feel like I am walking like an old woman...not really, but stiffly, BUT I have moved past being a sloth.

I changed my final recheck appointment with my OS from May 3 to May 21, but maybe I can "jog" into her office by then. :loll: Gary and I decided to take a week of vacation beginning May 21 to potentially get our house ready to sell. If we sell, we could be stuck living in the motorhome for awhile, but will eventually buy in Eastern Oregon. YEA!! I am seriously thinking about retirement...early, albeit, but I have no desire to wait until I am 66 and 2 months or whatever. Not after loosing a close, dear friend at 64 from a slip on the ice!

I still can be pulled over the the dogs if they decide to do something silly. I wouldn't consider walking 2 on a leash at the same...let along 3 or now 4. They aren't pullers, but still, if there was something that got their attention, I would be done if 250 pounds of poodles decided to all go the same direction at the same time. :dogwalk: Honestly I think the 50 pound puppy could disrupt my stride significantly if he pulled hard enough. He and I are going back to regular lessons tomorrow. We'll see how that goes.

As sad as I have been past month because of the "slow" process, the last two days have lightened my mood significantly. I wasn't sure how to move forward and I still don't know what has changed in the past two days. @Walkinginthesand I wish you were here and have been thinking of you all the time. I am hoping you are doing better. Lots of hugs.

Hi @Poodles
Do you want the quotation marks and question mark in the title?

Ya, know...I was thinking "yes". But I really believe I have hit a turning point. No question mark. Thank you!

That's great to hear...perhaps you just had to get 3 months of healing done. I hope it continues to just get better from here!

So glad you are beginning to enjoy the benefits of life without hip pain. Great update and turnaround, Poodles:ok:

So glad you've turned that corner - and no peaking around it. We don't want you going back!
