Bilateral THR Thing 1 and Thing2'

A friend uses tonic water, can even be flat. There is Qinine in it that helps! She also uses a vinegar mix of some kind. Still working on figuring that out. She says both work!

I used magnesium once. My legs were sore, found out later, that was the beginning of getting new hips!

Been dealing with aftermath of PT gone wrong.

Called Mom, she is picking me up today. And taking me to PT on Tuesday
I'm giving my opinion...double buddy to double buddy. I don't know how to say this more clearly. Give the PT a rest. You already do enough PT with walking. It is causing you problems.
And with us bilaterals, in order to stand up and work one leg passively we put all of weight on the other leg.
I was told to do PT, I wanted to be a good patient. It caused me problems. I just dropped it.
Any "PT" I resumed, was at least 6-8 weeks out after NO PT...and then only stretching and a few done when laying down so one leg wasn't having to hold me up by itself.
I would bet right now ALL is due to not giving legs time to heal properly before aggravating them.
Sympathy hugs, I learned it the hard way too. There is no PROBLEM that will come from just stopping that PT, and limiting your everyday activity.

Hi @Berber7227
Hopefully today looks brighter and you've recovered physically.
It would be great to hear whether were able to salvage a bit of Christmas yesterday
after the suffering you experienced last week. Hopefully so...

I am worried about you attempting PT again today. Wondering if what you experienced last week has caused you to view PT differently....
I think it's difficult for some to dismiss advice given by their surgeon. It's understandable to a point.
The set back you dealt with all last week seems to be directly associated with your last PT session. The sleeplessness due to the pain you were suffering and the inability to bear weight on your right leg were likely direct affects. If you still plan to attend another session today please don't do anything that hurts. You are still in such early days of recovery, Berber and its sad to see you suffer such complications.
Warm wishes for a great week!

Went to PT, it was scheduled for 8:30. A change from 11:30.
Someone forgot to tell the computer! So no PT today!

So you at mom’s or back home? Maybe it was meant to be that you get a little more rest...

Yay for computer glitches!
Kidding....Not Kidding.
I'm worried about you after those horrible PT effects you suffered last week.
Would hate to see a repeat.
It doesn't matter where you are, at home, or your mom's....
We can find you :fasthorse::fasthorse::fasthorse::fasthorse::fasthorse::fasthorse::fasthorse: and keep you away from PT :heehee:

:fasthorse::fasthorse::fasthorse::fasthorse::fasthorse::fasthorse::fasthorse: We're on our way....
Can't help myself because I know you're a good sport :heehee:

Hope you're feeling A LOT better from the PT / OD
and that the spasms are lessening....
@Berber7227

Thinking of you. I think missing pt was a good thing too.... You’ve been through so much. You need to rest and heal

:wave:You didn't know I could do that, did you? The computer glitch I mean...
Your Welcome!
Cabin fever is the pits...but hope you are feeling way less pain..

:hi:Hope you are good today Berber.
Only been a little over a month.
I know my legs were super numb for the first month and then when things started healing more, the zingers started...just wondering if you've had the same experience?
I did so much whining on my recovery thread...I'm guessing you are way less wimpy than I was.

Hi @Berber7227
Worry about you when you're quiet.
We probably shouldn't challenge you on PT. It is your recovery.
Just worry that sometimes people are conflicted between what their doctor orders
and what their body is telling them. I hope you're ok....
Wishing you a peaceful day!

Hi @Berber7227
I just read your whole thread, sorry I have not been on here much my fellow bilateral THR buddy. Reading all about your ups and downs. You’re doing well, I never even started PT for at least six weeks or more after my surgery. I was assigned a girl I really liked on the first trip, then I got an intern that I did not like, I requested the first girl and got her for all of my visits since. She was very in tune with what was going on with me. Don’t be afraid to ask for a change and to find somebody that is in tune with you. Wishing you continued onward and upward recovery, fellow Vermonter !

Hi @Berber7227 hope you’re doing okay. I just realised I’m over 12 weeks post op! Where did that time go. I know it can be really tough and you’ve had a setback but we’re rooting for you! You’re doing great. It’s been a huge thing your body has gone through. I’m surprised how much it has affected me mentally and emotionally too though. I’m still struggling to be positive at times cause my walking is not progressing. I’m finding positives though. I can sleep much better, feel great in the pool, my hips actually feel quite strong. Thinking about you often and hoping you’re okay :hugzz:

Had my first all day outing with my Daughter. Left at 8:30 am. Home at 4:30 pm. She had lots of gift cards!!! Took my walker with a seat. Made it through the day!! It has been months since we had a day out!
