I hope the day does come that we can put the dislocation thought in the far recesses of our minds! I know that I worry about it much less now - but it is always there :skeptical: Any little funny feeling starts me wondering if everything is OK. I guess some day we will just get tired of worrying about it and let it go :wink1:

Glad that you are getting back to life and moving on! Keep us posted from time to time :yes 4:

Hi Cappy, just stopped by to catch up with your progress. Sounds like it is going well.. Belated congrats on the one year anniversary :)

Thanks Sandy, it's a couple of weeks until my actual anniversary so I'll be back with a cake!

Question time! Over the last few weeks I've been feeling increasingly uncomfortable in my right leg. There is (are?) slight pins and needles in my foot, pain around the incision site and pain around the flexors. The pain is not severe but it's been enough to have me heading for the painkillers again.

Exercise seems to help it but walking is sore and I have a bit of a limp.

I don't want to turn into a moaning Minnie who heads to the doctor at the least wee twinge but I'm beginning to get slightly concerned and I think I'll seek advice.

Any thoughts on seeing the doc vs seeing the physio?

Hope there are no restless nights out in bonesmart land!

Listen to your gut and check with the doc - you'll sleep better. If it is anything to be concerned about, better to check it out sooner rather than later and having it escalate.

Hi Cappy, sorry to hear of your R leg discomfort. Do you think possibly ITBand??

I think if your worried about this you should seek advice, nothing wrong in that. :thumb:

Hi Cappy, if you ice does it ease things? Are you doing anything different lately - new exercise or activity?

Hi Jaycey, I was doing a fair amount of cycling but I've cut that right back. Ice does seem to help a bit.

Could well be Haldox. I hadn't thought of that but the symptoms sound right. The pain does extend to my knee. The glute medius is particularly sore and painful - I have to sit to my trousers on when I had just mastered the art of putting them on like a "normal person".

I've made a GP appointment for Thursday morning so we'll see what she says!

Cappy, I always say better safe than sorry. It won't hurt to see the doc, even if it turns out to be nothing. Good luck!

A quick update.

I have stayed away from the gym all week and the pain and discomfort has eased considerably.

I made a GP appointment for this morning but I have now cancelled it as I feel that I am on the mend. I'll see how things go over the holiday weekend.

I am off painkillers again! I do still have a slight tingling in the back of my thigh and my foot but it can wait.

Good news Cappy! Sounds like you just got a bit over active. Great you scaled back. Now you can start again at a slower pace.

Hi Cappy

Great that the pain and discomfort has settled after easing back with the exercise... Long may you stay pain free my friend :)

Happy Easter break

Good for you, Cappy!!! It's amazing how much discomfort can come from a little overactivity!

Hi Cappy

Just checking in with you to see how you are doing this week?

Thanks for asking Sandy.

I'm doing well. I got back on the spin bike at the start of the week and started to feel the familiar tingle. So I've decided to stop cycling for a couple of weeks to let it settle. I've been concentrating on the IT band exercises and things are coming along nicely.

Hi Cappy-I still keep up with my IT band stretches on both legs, its a very nice stretch!

Looks like some patience is in order and soon you'll be back up there spinning away!!

Hi haldox, what stretches do you do?

I have been doing IT exercises such as marching bridge and have found a bit improvement in the last couple of weeks!
