I so love reading your threads.. I have a big wide smile on my face, reading how you are chatting and encouraging each other.. Sissy, I tagged you to pop over and cheer up another member who is a bit down... go join her up to your warriors club :)

Hugs to all of you xoxoxox

Poppet Done already, and I tagged a few other warriors. I hope we're not too crazy for her:spin:

Go my good warrior girls... fantastic... you can drop by my thread you know - 'Girl from OZ - I love my OS'.

Am layed up at the moment.. but I will let you drop by and read why :)

Sissy and darn!, I like dede62, would be more than willing to send some precipitation your way, as I am waiting on your sunshine box to arrive and life the gray gloom. The BS Warriors are unstoppable, now we can even alter the weather, watch out world

For all my BoneSmart buddies, wishing you butterfly mornings and wildflower afternoons, as the song says....

Okay we are going to start sending out your photos to National Geographic, you definetly have an eye. Have you ever thought of entering some photos in some nature photo contest?

Beth, no I haven't. Photography is just for fun for me. I don't feel so silly staring at things if I have a camera.

Milestones! I haven't taken any ibuprofen since Sunday morning and don't need any yet today, even though I hiked on Sunday and paddled on Monday. Lazy yesterday, appointment today and ewww, the sky is overcast and it's windy, and if it is going to look like that, we could use a little rain....

Another milestone. When I first contemplated THR, I bought the first four books of George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire fantasy epic. I had watched the HBO series based on the first book, so I knew I'd love it. I saved those books all summer and started reading the first one in pre-op and recovery. Two weeks ago I finished the first 4 which I had bought in paperback, and got the fifth (the last so far) from the library. Just finished it! This coincides with my two month post-op anniversary 3 days ago. Martin is writing 4 more books in this series, I've heard, and I hope he finishes them before I need something else replaced.

I'm feeling strong and optimistic. I have a new pair of hiking shoes and I'm shopping for light weight trekking poles, and I should be able to start back with my volunteer work doing river patrol at the state park this weekend. I do still get tired more easily than is normal for me, but I know it will be another month or so before my blood count is back to normal.

All you BoneSmart warrior buddies of mine who are about 6 weeks or so behind me (what happened to all the September BoneSmarties----have they left the building? Besides Aussie Mike and Cookie?) take heart. I've had some slumps, as you know, but better days do come.
:bicycle1:

Ah sissy honey, sometimes I even feel at 12 months that I am still riding the surf with the slumps... One day I ride all the way to the beach, other days I get dumped, being bounced around in the white water. Part and parcel of a THR... No wait in my case, probably because it is 5:36am and I have to get up in a minute to start the mad dash to work....

You are doing exceptionally well - congratulations on your two month anniversary :)

Be careful this weekend, still much internal healing happening for at least another 10 months.

Love your photos, it certainly brightened the start of my day - thanks babe :)

In fact I have two buckets of water and two rain barrels full right now!

All together now: "let it snow, let it snow, let it snow." Sissy, what a beautiful photo and a fabulous post. You are an inspiration to me and others. Your positive can-do attitude is a force to be reckoned with. Thank you for sharing your zest for life with us.

All the best.
Tammy

we have a couple light inches predicted tonight, i'll get a picture in the morning and post tomorrow!

Sissy, you arean inspiration to all of us here, congradulations on your new milestones
cnydutch, please send the snow to FL as Sissy and darn!, are looking for it, but in Southeastern, MA I do not mind if there is no snow all winter

Just south of the Mass border here and yesterday's snow was all we needed.Looked pretty, didn't stick on the roads--fine with me!!

32 degrees Celcius today... OZ is warming up!

I do like to see the snow :)

The snow is pretty, but when you have to go out, it can become a bear. I think my biggest concern is falling on the ice or snow with the new hip

Having grown up in Western PA and going to college for two years at WVU I've had my share if the white stuff. Have to agree that looking at it is nice and I can maneuver pretty well in it, but the rest of the drivers in WA either think they're invincible in their SUV's and pick up trucks or just can't drive in it at all. Anytime snow hits the area everything comes to a standstill. Even the road crews aren't able to keep up with it much of the time. Luckily when it gets bad enough I can usually work from home. When the school districts are closed then there are fewer clients working online, but the diehards always call because they are able to access from home as well.

Two winters ago we lived in the country that was perched on a roller coaster set of hills. The part I hated most was going down because the last part of the hill was a blind T-intersection and straight ahead was a huge dropoff. I remember coming down once and wasn't able to stop, negotiated the right turn to look straight into a school bus. I had just enough time to correct back into my lane. From that point forward I told them at work I wasn't going to risk the hill unless I knew the sand trucks had been out and it was light out.

:yikes: I'm glad you don't live there any more. It sounds treacherous!

No snow here overnite, it missed us and stayed to the north . Still have some on the ground,
but the roads and driveways are about melted off now. Temps going up into the 50's by early
next week. Back to outside walks!
