THR Second one - hope it's better than the first

 my friend!
Not so good with the icing I am afraid......

You haven't been good at doing it...or you aren't getting any visible results with it?
Had been a good bit of time...

Glad you are getting pretty weather. Hope the swelling subsides. Wishing you all the best:loveshwr:

@Mojo333 not so good as in forget to do it........!!!!!
Seriously though half of my scar is as swollen as it was 4 months ago. I will start to ice again and see how I go. Thanks for dropping by my friend x

When do you get a recheck?
Doesn't look angry does it?
I might want to have someone look at it.
The muscle around it?
Are you doing something to pull on it do you think?
Maybe you should tag Jo and she will want to know about your current activity..
I don't think I had as much worry about the actual incision site at this point...

Hi @Mojo333 it's not angry but the bottom half of it is still red and pulled apart whereas the top half has gone silvery as scars should. No more check ups until 1 year

And that is where the swelling is most prominent, at the incision site? Wonder if you might tag Josephine with a picture that might ease BOTH our minds?

Yes it is @Mojo333 I have trouble posting photos as it always says they are too big, any suggestions? Thanks

I downloaded a free app that is called Reduce Photo size and it's really user friendly because I'm a tech dummy.
Maybe someone else has better way.

Hi @Bevlah. Bottom part of my incision looks a bit different than top--perhaps the way clothes hit it? I also still have numbness in the thigh--bigger area than I remember from left hip at this point. It does seem to slowly be getting smaller. It seems like I will hit a spell where it itches like crazy and a day or so later I notice some numbness fading. I guess the nerves are just taking their time coming back.

Hey @MammaT how are you my lovely? It doesn't itch at all but it is really sore and if I wear jeans I can feel the material rubbing. I just thought after 5 months I would notice an improvement? Oh well I am sure it will get better. II hav big fat legs as I have never really used them properly due to the hip problem so maybe that why. The poor surgeon probably had to get the big guns out to cut through so much fat!!

I know that feeling, Doing well-have to remember to slow down at times.

Hi Bev, I can't help but wonder about the "pulled apart" you mentioned in regard to your incision.
Wondering if you should have it checked? It might offer you some reassurance....
Or, if you can figure out how to crop it down to incision only to give Jo a peek?
I hope your week is good.
@Bevlah

@Josephine hi Josie would you mind having a butchers at my scar please? It's 5 months post op and the top half, apart from under the skin Lumps, has healed well. The bottom half is still swollen, numb around the incision but the incision itself is sore. I still feel like there is a brick inside!

I am walking properly can now do the stairs properly, although it still hurts and am on naproxen for my other hip but no other meds. I do stretches every day and short walks in the morning before work and at lunch time. Going to start going for walks after work too. My ROM is still rubbish but I am working on it! Just a bit worried as it's been a long time since my op. Thank you

To be honest, I really can't figure out anything from your photo. It's the kind of situation where one really needs to put hands on. Has your GP seen it?
My ROM is still rubbish but I am working on it!
Well you know what I would have to say about that - don't you?!

:hi: Have thought of you and hoped you were feeling things were going better.
I know you were awfully frustrated..
Wishing you all the best @Bevlah!:friends:

Hi Bev, Hope you're doing well.
Wondering if you still have the concerns about your incision, spoken with anyone, or if it's resolved? My ROM isn't exactly what I'd hoped it would be at this point either. Possibly it will still improve? I'm not sure. All I do know is I'm pain free and back living life rather than being sidelined. I'll take it! Are you feeling really hindered by your ROM?

Would love to hear from you. Miss you around here.
A great rest of the week to you!
@Bevlah

Hi lovely ladies @Mojo333 and @Layla yes the ROM is still very hindering and I am having physio to try and get my muscles moving but I am literally like a board due to far too many years of inactivity! Hip still hurts along with the incision but my doc said it looked ok? Very frustrating as I really don't think it is!!! Bad news I fell downthe stairs on my back on Monday. Have been off work all week as I can't move. Think I may have fractured my coxyx but I am hopeful the hip is ok! It's sore but fingers crossed it's ok. So I am back to being in pain! Life sucks sometimes eh? But top tip.....I still have the raised toilet seat chair which I discovered is the only comfortable place I can sit ha ha!!! Am meant to be having my other hip done in August but this may set me back? Hope all is well with you 2? I still am on BS but more of an observer now xx

Oh my stars...I am SO sorry you fell..and the tailbone is THE WORST! Do you have a donut you have been sitting on.
Think I may have fractured my coxyx but I am hopeful the hip is ok! It's sore but fingers crossed it's ok. So I am back to being in pain!
Have you checked it out with Xray?
I really hate you are still struggling so.
Please know I wish all the best for you.
Your kind spirit and light hearted sense of humor always made me happy to see you on the forum.
Just wish things were better for you now.
Maybe the bad hip is keeping things out of whack?

Fell down the stairs! Oh, NO!
I'm so sorry, Bev. That had to be very scary.
I know Coccyx injuries can be very slow to heal. Wonder if you can get a diagnosis?
Between the latest pain, your concern over ROM, and your incision concerns, I feel for you.
I'll remember you in prayer for comfort and healing. Please stay in touch.
To brighter days...
@Bevlah

Hi ladies. Been on Google and there doesn't seem to be anything they can do to heal a tail bone. Yes it's the worst pain!! I have a donut but all I can do is lie down at the mo. What an idiot I am!!!!

Aah...no you aren't! Things happen.
I'm so sorry for this!
I want you better....:friends:
