Here is the newest news,LOL!! Went to see OS for 6 month check although I am already at 7 months and the xray was beautiful, he said it looked as good as it did when it was done, Yea!! I had been doing some cable weights at the Y and kind of got things aggravated but a little ice and I am back on track. Also while I was at the doctor we once again are putting me on the schedule to have the left knee done, which should be 6-7 weeks from now. So I have to go update that thread, LOL!! I also had been having some soreness in the left hip and with the mild arthritis he asked if I wanted a cortisone shot and I said please!! So now a little more than 24 hrs after it, that pain has abated at least for the moment. So all is as well as it can be for now. More recovery ahead with the knee but I am gonna do my best to go into this with the same positive attitude I had with the hip, knowing that is over half the battle. So I will be waiting in the wings of the knee area for anyone that wants to follow a TKR less than a year after a THR. Please wish me continued luck and prayers as I await, although not very patiently, to get this one done and over with and get on with enjoying life!!

Wishing you all the very best for your TKR.....I'm a year out from THR and have had bad knee pain too...going for X-ray tomorrow so may be joining you!! All the very best x

@Hoppy Nanny Please be sure to let me know what you and your OS decide. Will be waiting to hear what is decided.

@Hoppy Nanny I understand both the feeling of what you hope it is vs what you have a feeling about it. I had known for a number of years that my knees were going downhill, in fact had arthroscopic in 2008 on left knee so I knew this would be forthcoming. Good luck tomorrow, and hoping you get the results that says no surgery in your immediate future.

Will do....will also be following your progress @ mystikfairy61.... I'm sure you could sure do without it too! Glad your hip doing well...mine is..well..forgotten now...if it were not for that dratted knee......! X

Feel free to follow me if you like. I have been following you since right after you had your hip done so I get all the messages you post. Good luck to us both!! Onward and upward regardless for me, oh dratted knee!!

@MajorHeidi Thanks so much, but I don't always feel the optimism as much as I would like, but just do my best to stay as positive as possible. Just wanted to send a message on this side to let you guys know I am scheduled for Oct 7th. Not much time to worry so I guess that is a plus.

@MajorHeidi Oh girl this knee was my problem child :tantrum2:after the hip was done. It was the knee that hurt the worse in recovery so I am glad to be getting this one gone!! It took almost an hour and 20 mg of Morphine IV to get it to stop hurting..

Oh dear @mystikfairy61..... October 7th can't come quick enough for you....sorry you are having so much pain....I do hope I can be as brave as you to get the knee done.......don't think I am (sigh) xxxx

@Hoppy Nanny Well to tell the truth the pain is not as bad as it was right after I had the hip done. But having the anterior hip and that knee wasn't supported because they used the Hana table, in case you aren't sure what it looks like it is pretty cool table just no knee support, feet are strapped into ski boots and the rest of the leg kind of sits there, that was the reason for the extreme pain since it was bad anyway. But my feeling is I don't want to wait until it hurts like the hip did. Want to get it done, get recovered and get back to living. Can't get back the lost time that would take to wait for it to get worse, which is the reason for doing it now. But trust me, I may sound brave but I am pretty nervous about it. By the way what did the doctor say about yours?

Got to wait 10/14 days for the GP to get the results @mystikfairy61.... Nothing quick with the NHS! I completely agree that it's good to be pain free, whatever it takes...life is too short ! That Hana table sounds.....well....awful! I had posterior so not used on me! Just hoping its muscles & tendons to deal with & no OA!! Coward that I am!!! X

OK need my hippie friends to send me some good vibes, NERVES:scaredycat:have hit full force!! I feel that it is probably because when I finally got my hip done, I was so much pain I practically danced :happydance:into the OR. The knee is nowhere near as bad as the hip was, and I guess, oh heck I know, I am over thinking my decision. Question the decision when I have a good low pain day, and then go oh yes that's why I want it done when I have a bad day. So please send those prayers, wishes of luck and positive vibes my way, I need all I can get.

You know you are doing the right thing @mystikfairy61.... Getting the knee done before it becomes completely debilitating...you know from your hip how bad it can get. It's that mind thing isn't it...playing tricks. Wishing you a positive thought day so that you can remain on track...thinking of you and sending you lots of good wishes....I so feel for you during this run up time. Chrissie xxx
