Oh Donna @mystikfairy61 you are getting so close!!!
I think we all get those feelings about now, is it bad enough, am I crazy?
But, its the right thing.... and, we do feel better, and I know you will, too.
Go Donna!!!

@MajorHeidi Thanks so much Claire!! I came to the conclusion that if I didn't do it now, that it would still be something I would have to face sometime, so may as well get it done and dusted as Jo says!!

OHHHHHH I am so not happy!!! :tantrum:I just got a call from my OS office. apparently when I had my EKG done for preop, there were some ST wave changes since my last one and they are gonna need cardiac clearance so now my surgery is postponed!!! I am so frustrated :gaah:I am almost in tears!! :boohoo:I have a cardiac appt on the 15th and they are gonna try to find me another surgery date.
I just did some reading and found that even an increased heart rate can cause that kind of change, and the assistant at my OS office listened to my chest and said my heart rate was up and I said yes I am anxious. I am just betting that was what caused it and it is nothing. But with this being an elective surgery everyone has to give a green light or its a no go. :banghead:So it is just a bump in the road, it was just that I had been without my nsaids for several days and my pain was bad due to it and now I have to go thru all that again. Not my idea of a good time but part of the process. But nevertheless still aggravating!! :headbang:

Well **** Donna! @mystikfairy61 :blackcloud:
I know you know that they go thru so many things to ensure that all will go right.
So, whatever it is that caused the faster heart rate needs to be answered, and it probably is just
the anticipation like you said.......
I recall getting a call from a PA who told me my heart rate was really low.
I had to tell him it is because I take Atenolol for high blood pressure and it lowers the heart rate on
me to the high fifties which is unusual. Working out and sweating only gets it up to like 90 max. Ha!
With that info, they were ok with it.
Hopefully the resched won't be too much longer after the 15th, as it sounds like they will 'work you in'.
(((HUGS)))

@MajorHeidi I asked him about it and he said they were looking for another date for me. I also take a blood pressure med that slows my heart rate, but even anxiety can get it going as well as exercise. I knew my heart rate was up that day because my nerves were wound tighter than a banjo string, so I shouldn't be surprised it showed up in my EKG. And being a nurse, I totally understand the clearances required to ensure a safe surgery. As I said it is just frustrating that I had done without my NSAID's and was in a lot of pain and now have to do that again. That to me is the worst part of getting to the countdown days to surgery, no NSAID's to counteract the inflammation and the pain that comes with that. I will let everyone know and will for the 3rd and hopefully final time, get on the TKR surgery list!!

Glad to hear you have new date of Nov 18th @mystkfairy61.... Not too long to wait...bet it seems like an awful long wait for you. Hope you are keeping the pain at bay...,Chrissie xx

Decided to post this here as well in case my hippie friends don't know. Changes have been made, even though I am not thrilled...My Oct 7th date has been postponed. Went on my chart for the hospital where I can check appts , labs etc and found that I have been rescheduled for Nov 18th. Well a 6 week and 3 day wait but that was what I was expecting initially since they told me that it would take 6-7 weeks to get me in. So off into waiting mode I go....hopefully the 3rd time will be a charm!!

OH geez and I have been thinking about you.... You will be home for Turkey....... I'll be in touch..... Relax and rest up......Alot ahead of you!!!! .Love you>>>>>>:loveshwr:

So sorry for the delay, @mystikfairy61 ! What a bummer. I hope you are able to resume the NSAIDs again for a while before you have to stop them again for the surgery? Hang in there. Easy for ME to say. So sorry.

@chaseyboy Thanks my friend, I am OK with the change now, was just frustrated because it was so close to have to move it again.

@Peaches @dickinson I restarted the NSAID's the minute I got off the phone with them. At least it is holding the pain at bay somewhat. Would hate to not be able to take them again, the pain was awful without them. And not only in my knee but other joints that I have arthritis in as well. Now that I don't look forward to dealing with again in 6 weeks but it has to be done.

@mystikfairy61 ... SO happy you are able to take the NSAIDs again and that you are seeing the results. You know, funny thing about those ... I always told myself they didn't do spit for my hip pain prior to surgery. That is, until I had to stop them that last week or so prior to the surgery. I took two for my arthritis in my hand just last night and saw a difference much better than what it did for my hip pain. Weird how those things seem to work differently for different body parts afflicted with arthritis. Again, I am thrilled you are able to take the again. What about the bonesmart cocktail? Would that work even better for you right now? (Not a nurse, so not sure I should be "prescribing" things--but you ARE a nurse, so I don't feel bad mentioning it. Except you've probably thought of that already.) Hang in there.

Went to see cardiologist yesterday. He redid the EKG which happened to be the same as the one I had done in Feb before my hip. However, with the changes that were present 2 weeks ago, he wanted to do a stress test, which was done today. It was good and I got the all clear for my surgery. :yahoo::yes!:

Oh yeah baby!!!!! Hope the Nov date is for real..... thinkin about you.....always........xo.....You will start the new year off....and maybe running????LOL...bet you will...talk soon girl....enjoy the falling leaves.....my favorite time of year..... all will be well real soon..........:yes!:

@mystikfairy61

For the next two weeks expect to be tired and don't do anything but rest, drink lots of water, and follow the other mantras of Bonesmart!

Sorry about all your trouble with a surgery date. It's just maddening! But at least now you are good to go. Well done! Hope the time passes quickly.

Well it looks like my two buddies, TeeEm and Maeve have flown the coup. In case they do come back and check in, wanted to let you know I am still here for you two. :bawl:Will miss you both!!
