Hi Donna @mystikfairy61 ! Hope you are doing well today!!!!
You need to change your 'stuff' below your name; your date still shows Oct 7, and I think its Nov 18, right?
Its coming up now soon. Not soon enough for you though.
I am avidly awaiting your recovery journey with your knee. Your hip journal was really helpful to me, especially the one entry you did which was like a synopsis of what to expect.....
Cuz... at some point.... I am going to be there, too.
xo

@MajorHeidi Got that signature changed, LOL!! Date has changed so much I forgot which one I had listed. Be sure to watch for my recovery thread for my knee, I am going to do my best to get it started and listed in my signature before I have it done, that way I don't forget. :rotfl: The mind just doesn't work as it should, especially with the fibromyalgia brain fog, then add narcotics to that and I am done for memory,LOL!! I am doing ok waiting, not too anxious like I was, just trolling around :sneaker: til the time arrives. Still have good and bad days, they equal out mostly. It is so funny, when I went for my preop I was having a good day and I talked to the PA and we decided that knees and hips are like cars. You take your car to the mechanic, swearing up and down that it had a problem but for some reason it never does it at the mechanic. Same goes with knees and hips, they know their time is limited and they try to be aggravating and don't act up while at the doctor, making us think we are either A(crazy and our joint is really OK or B) the joint has decided it doesn't want to be replaced and wants to act right, LOL!! I will be around, and will do my best to make the knee thread content as good as the hip, just for you my friend!!

Just wanted to drop over here and let my hippie friends know that my LTKR was done today, so if you would like to follow my post op thread, it is listed below.

Just wanted to dreatrop over to the hip side and see how everyone is doing. My hip at 9 months is still doing great, quad still isn't as strong as I would like it to be, but while I am in PT for my LTKR I am going to see if we can work on my quad strength at the same time. Started going to pain management because of my fibromyalgia and had a repeat MRI. I had one in 2010 and found that I had some changes in L3 and L4 in my low back. I was glad to find out that there haven't been any additional changes since the earlier one. I was also glad that they are going to manage my post op pain, that way I don't have to ask my OS to follow me for it. Hope everyone is doing great!! I will check back in later on. If anyone would like to know how my knee is doing, feel free to check my knee post op thread, which is listed in my signature.

Just wanted to pop in since my one year is coming up on Feb 18th and give everyone an update. The hip is pretty much at the forgotten stage, don't even think about it for the most part. The new knee is holding me back from doing what I would like to be at the gym but just like the hip, I know it will come with time. I hope everyone is doing well that has already had their replacement and that the time passes quickly for those of you still waiting. If like myself you are having issues with mobility, know that this is a wonderful decision and it will give you your life back. If anyone has any questions, message me either here or private message and I will be more than happy to reply. Love and hugs to all!!:egypdance::loveshwr::wave:

Happy anniversary to your new hip! It sounds like you are doing well and your knee will come along too with some more time. So wonderful of you to take time to update....this is important for our newer members who read recovery threads!! Thanks!

So glad all is going well for you @mystikfairy61
What a great update....hope your knee continues to get better & better! Chrissie x

Just wanted to stop in. I am 15 months out from my hip and don't even think about it. It has given me a new lease on life and I have never had a regret for having this done. Also my husband Rob will be having his left hip replaced June 26th unless they change the date on us. He is not the least bit nervous but is actually looking forward to it cause he has gotten to the point that he is in pain daily and wants to get his life back like I have. We have the same OS so we have all faith in him. Hope all my friends are doing well!! Miss you all!!

Great update Donna! I hope your husband joins us here through his recovery!

@mystikfairy61 Donna!!!
Great update!
Also, glad you can steer Rob into all the right things to get a great recovery.
Will he have a thread, too?
All the best, continued..... :friends:

Hi all, well hubby has one week until his big day, Friday the 26th. He is having anterior left total hip. Guess I need to start a thread for him, although I will probably be the one who posts on it, LOL!! He tested positive for MRSA in the nasal swab and was a little concerned but I helped to alleviate that fear, as well as his doctor. He got all his pre op done and all is a GO!! I am doing good, knee and hip are great. I am having some bursitis but it is in the non op side. Also my spinal stenosis is giving me fits lately, but that is totally unrelated. I used to think the low back pain was from the hip until I had the MRI and found out the real problem. But I am going to pain management and they are trying to keep it happy, at least as much as possible. I don't have any intention of having anything surgical done to it. Will get him a thread started soon!!

Best wishes for your husband Donna - I look forward to following his recovery journey.

You are doing great, bursitis can be such a frustrating condition. I had greater trochanter bursitis and found the only thing that worked for me was rest and more rest -- frustrating I know, but I don't have it anymore :)

Donna - I know its been awhile since above posts but how is your back doing? I'm still working on discovering whats solutions with mine - its difficult to find others in the "been there, done that" that is so comforting on the hip and knee side. My shoulders too are at the OA ravages, and currently recovering from back to back shoulder surgeries this year.

Do you have a thread over on the new Other Joint side?

@Me2 Hi hun, so sorry I have not been on here in so long. I don't have another thread. My back and shoulders are issues as well. I am going to private message you. Be sure to check your inbox.
