Oh my gosh. I can't wait to cut my own toe nails AND paint them. Just the perk I needed to be patient. What kind of stretching exercises helped?

@Me2 The main one I am doing to stretch the quads is laying on my stomach and just bending the leg at the knee, really stretches them. The other one I lay on my back bend the non op leg, then pull if toward your chest while stretching out the op leg, which stretches the muscles in the groin area. These came from PT and I can tell they are helping a lot.

Wow, that is great ... I have to try these stretches! If only I could bend my stiffened up knee, I would also try biking but my knee is being stubborn.

I have been a busy gal today. Went grocery shopping and to laundry by myself. Also got out in the yard and raked for about 15-20 mins. I am tired but it is a good tired. The old left knee is giving me pain tonight but the hip feels great, no pain at all. But I am going to ice to stave off any swelling that might come my way. Will be 7 weeks Tuesday and never thought it would be this good!! I am thrilled!! I am gonna rest tomorrow so I won't get into an overdone mode and start pain back up. Better smart and safe than sorry.

Great news that you Are having such a great recovery.....and painting your toenails ...!! Wow....xxxx

Donna you are doing fantastic! I cant even imagine doing all that yet, but you're giving me hope! Looking forward to being able to lie on my tummy so I can have a massage ...will be a little treat for myself.

I had been just doing the internet search just goofing around and I found a game that allows you to do virtual knee and hip replacements where you actually do the surgery. Was actually kind of fun, LOL< is that a little twisted?

Wow, kinda cool, wish they had anterior option. Really creates good understanding of steps of surgery.

I will be 8 weeks tomorrow and I only have one thing that is driving me batty.:umm: I have tried numerous times to sleep in my bed and I just can't seem to get comfortable.:mcoffee: I toss and turn. I have been sleeping on the couch but I really want to sleep in my bed again before my hubby thinks I have disowned him, LOL!! :heehee:Also I still have the night owl syndrome going on as well and don't sleep much at night. HELP!! :hairpulling::headbang:

Donna, thanks for posting the hip surgery operation site. That was neat I thought!

I still have the night owl syndrome going on as well and don't sleep much at night. HELP!! :hairpulling::headbang: When you find the solution PLEASE let me know --- I am tired during day and was resting but not sleeping at night . . .. Now today, I determined NO MORE NAPS and sat down when all the children left . . . and fell asleep for 3 hours . . . Guess who won't be sleeping tonight . . . haven't moved out of bed and make myself lay there at night but :hairpulling::headbang: Husband sleeps like a rock so he never notices. :hairpulling::headbang: Maybe if I ever see doctor and restrictions are lifted . . .:giggle:

@Me2 you are only 12 days post op and naps and sleeping whenever helps you heal. But I am 2 months post op and really thought it would get better by now. If I get a solution I will pass it on.

@mystikfairy61 I know I am determined to find balance between daytime rest and ability to sleep longer than three four hours at night. I hate the hours 3-6 a.m. -- the crazy thoughts start or even if just being awake is just so awful.
