You'll be grand on your own, sleep when you like, watch rubbish tv, cry even, just do nothing if you like! I had a tray on wheels which allowed me to wheel cups of tea/snacks from kitchen to lounge. It was provided by hospital occupational health.

Please be careful with those stairs @chereb. Is there no way of reorganising your sleeping arrangements while hubby's at work so that you're not going up and down so much?

Btw, you're doing ever so well x :flwrysmile:

Im only up the second set at night when its bedtime and hubby follows me lol. Then in the morning coming down. Unfortunately our toilet is upstairs so i have to go up and down those ones as many times as i need to pee lol.

Hope you slept well last night :-) x

Hi @chereb I had that problem with the stairs too. With both my replacement and revision. However, in readiness for the next op, my clever husband has fitted us a downstairs toilet!!! Thank goodness x x x this means I won't be so isolated with this next op x x xi lived in the bedroom for the first few months because the toilet is next to the bedroom, apart from the odd trip downstairs. It did me no favours this isolation believe me xxx

@nana moon would love a downstairs loo but sadly no room. Thats great your hubbys sorted you one. Be much better for your next TKR :-)

Day 13

Everything seems to be ticking along nicely. Forgetting my pain meds sometimes which means the pain is getting less!!
Still concentrating on ice and elevation.
Hubby back at work today so i am having to take and collect my daughter from school. Its a 2 min walk normally but took me almost 10 mins haha. My daughter said i was walking like a zombie!
Done a little tidying today. Not loads just a quick hoover and putting stuff away. The knee seems to have coped ok with it.
Such a difference between the revision and primary TKR. Im finding the revision much easier or maybe im just more aware of what not to do this time. Sleeping ok as well which is a bonus.

Hi @chereb

I hope that you're ok? The shin pain is part of this wonderful recovery and the tiredness is the drain if energy you hear mentioned in here all the time in various posts. They say no two recoveries are ever the same so this may be applying to you in this case x x take care x x x

Hi @chereb

I hope that you are feeling a bit better today energy wise. It's surprising how things we take for granted can drain us. Also your tiredness may be a side effect of your meds too.

Take care it's lovely to hear from you
Love Ann x x x

Past couple of days have been uneventful. Hubby and myself cleaned the house today although he did most of it haha. I helped where i could. We had visitors last night and as soon as they left i went to bed but struggled to sleep for hours.
My wound is starting to lose a bit a scabbing and i cant wait until its gone so i can have a proper bath.
ROM seems much the same but not stressing about it for now. Inside of knee has been quite sore the past two days too.
Still love the cryo cuff its my best friend at the moment lol.
Managing around the house without crutches with a horrible limp! Im sure that will improve along with the ROM.
Getting a bit of cabin fever now. Having to depend on hubby instead of just jumping in the car and going to do whatever it is by myself.
I have an allergy to the sun and got an appointment to start my phototherapy treatment for this year. It was next week so i have asked if they can put it back until mid april when i hope to be driving again!!
11 weeks until we go to Orlando so hoping i can be reasonable by then

Chereb,
Just a reminder if you are limping you need the crutches or a cane, you are just reinforcing your limp, and will have to break the habit later.
Your trip to Orlando sounds wonderful, look into finding out what you need to use a scooter in the parks, there is a lot of walking at Epcot, Disney World, etc.

@chereb
How are you! I am bored. Laying around. Started to hurt. U are brave walk with out no sticks. Lol I look like old woman. I fill more safe with crutches. And well this time using Walker.

@Jamie will tell you that it is safe to use Walker or device.
Like pumpkin said to.
I have a limp to. Cause was walking with knee bend it. And no no lol. Was killing my leg on side.

But I have hard wood floor. I put 1 foot on one square and other in other. Look down and walk. Slow and easy.

Jamie has some good points. Don't over do it. I know I'm dec I did a lot. And ouch ouch I paid for it. It agervate my leg. And well she was mad at me lol.

Wow I want a cyro cuff. Gez I just have ice packs off amazon. That a few members here told me to get.
I wanted a ice machine. But them is expensive.

I can't walk a lot. If agervate my leg. And gental pt. Except other day. Wow she was a Sargent. And that hour really worked me hard. I was ready for a nap. I felt like I had been in boot camp lol. Just kidding anyways hope your having a good night. Be kind to self. Nice to have hub help. I had make mine. Lol we fought like crazy. But he did it. And been doing it. And realized I need it. Post pics of family on page. I will post some on mine. Xxxx

@pumpkin thank you i have started using 1 crutch and it is a bit easier. Guess im just desperate to ditch them lol.
We have been to Orlando a lot and this time not planning to do much around the parks as we knew this revision would still be in recovery. Going to be more of a chill holiday this time. We always rent a villa so will have our own pool ect. Staying for 23 nights so lots of physio in the pool should help a bit.

@Angel1978

I hear you with the boredom lol. Its not that i go out much anyway just that i cant even if i want to. We have had some nice weather the past few days. Lovely for walking and probably it will rain cats and dogs when i can go for a walk. Is your extension not at 0? Is that why your knee is bent walking? I have been pretty lucky to be at 0 from the start. How are you finding your pain levels now? Mines are coming down a bit.
Hubbys can drive us mad sometimes lol. Mines has been great and i admire him as hes out working all day then coming home to take care of the kids/house.
I got my cryo cuff from ebay have a look on there x

@chereb
Awww cute girls. Like full spunk.
I am not sure what the problem is. Pt says is cause I lean but not sure. Cannot walk with out some kind device. And pain leval is weird. Cause during day it's like anoint tooth ache. Well started Celebrex again. And seem to help. Then at night it like a weird pin needle Jump. On left side and in back. But set up let leg dangle and it goes away after a while.
Been try to get off pain Meds cause stomach is not doing well. I've try bread crackers granola and chips. Nothing is seen to work. I get sick urge and after while goes away. Just don't like feeling like that.

So I try to ice and elevate. And I end up just setting up an have take a tylonal. I try to go on porch and set yesterday and did it for few. And had to come in and get in recliner. It drives me crazy. Just want to at least be able to walk good.

When I first start bone smart in Dec I was a mess. Partial knee and docs who had me all confused. But know I know all about it am more. And it's not no easy rodeo.

My knee tends to lean to the lady side. So have to watch how I walk. And as far and extension. I don't know what the deal is. I'm a bit worried on that. But I'm not going give up.

I just seem to be having different issues. When I had partial by this time I was off pain Meds and swelling was down. This time is weird. Thanks for asking. Love eBay and Amazon. I got me some ice packs recomended by some forum members.

I think everyone is so lucky who don't have pain and has good extension. There want me this month on 30 to sign up for my left. And I said no way!!! Maybe at end of month. I would be in a mess.

Warm weather here. And me hobble around on crutches is such a burden. My kids have been helping a lot. But no one don't understand what we go though. Xxxx

@Angel1978 its hard for people who havent had tkr to understand just how painful it can be and how hard the recovery is. Dont try to dump your pain meds too soon. You need them for a while. My last tkr was awful. I felt like i was banging my head off a wall as nobody would listen that something was wrong. If you look back this thread i think pge 6 or 7 has pics of how my last tkr looked. Keep taking it easy and it will come. This is when we need patience lol x
