Yes, the eye feels fine, the remnants of the stye are still there. Eye Dr said it is draining and will continue to heal for a while, no infection.
You don't notice it unless I point it out to someone. And they say, "OH, now I can see it"

Oh @Pumpkln that humour is always there. I love it! Im glad your styes is clearing away now. It must be one big relief after the length of time it's been there annoying you.

Hi @Pumpkln I'm just lying on my bed. Scrolling through posts and I thought I'd see how you're doing? I just remembered you have your pre op today and i hope all goes well for you. I hope that you can find somewhere really nice for your lunch too!

I have a docs appointment at 3.20. My knee hurts so bad because I've tried to reduce the morphine down and obviously I'm still in considerable pain. It has not been right since the incident on the stairs the other week. I want to come off the morphine but he says why come off something that works. So, I'm bracing myself for a discussion again this afternoon. I pretty well know what he's going to say. He'll tell me off over the morphine like my husband has today. I thought maybe if I reduced it he'd change it. But considering the pain I doubt it x x x I just took two paracetamol (Tylenol) that does kind of take the edge off it a bit x I could take an extra morphine but I hate how it makes me feel x

Blood draw and EKG went well, at least it was no problem for me. See my primary next Tuesday to go over results and be signed off for surgery.
Had a relaxing breakfast, eggs benedict with salmon, while enjoying a hot cup of coffee :mcoffee:.
After which we went shopping, I came out empty handed but SO bought a new pair of pants.
Massage scheduled for this afternoon, :yes:.
@Nana moon 27 , how was your appointment? Hope you get your medications sorted today :SUNsmile:.

Hello,everyone. Thank you for your posts. I'm going to read them properly in a minute, I'm just going to post this first. I'm a bit upset but I'm okay.

I lost my breath while I was talking to the doc. He was very concerned about this. He has prescribed me an extra inhaler to go with the two I already take and the tablet.

He examined my knee, he touched certain points around it and I nearly hit the ceiling with the pain. I have to ice and elevate the knee. Immediately I thought of Dogwheels OS!

As regards the morphine, he asked how much morphine I'd taken. He asked why I'd reduced it so low when I was clearly in pain. I said because I need to come off it, so I can drive and get some sort of normality and that I was so fed up and then I burst in to tears embarrassingly, I sobbed about it. He said like before I cannot get normal until I get well.

I asked if it might be making my asthma worse and he said that was highly unlikely. He said that he was absolutely convinced I wasn't hooked on the morphine because of the fact that I can reduce it and go to him begging to come off it. Needless to say he discussed why the other options were not going to work for me. I just have to accept that this is it until I get outta this pain. He also mentioned about the fact that i cannot take anti inflammatories and this will slow things a bit. I have to do as I'm told. Worse still my husband said I told you so. I think most men can be a bit ... You know.

I have to go back on 28th March @ 8.40 am.

Had a call from the OS's office, to call right away???
OH, NO, :yikes: I thought, my labs are terrible, I must be a diabetic with kidney failure, a rare blood disease, and a never seen before UTI, and my EKG showed all sorts of heart problems.
The real story was the scheduler was looking at the wrong surgery schedule, and thought she had double booked the surgeon. Whew, all is well, I am scheduled with my surgeon, at my scheduled time, no conflict.
And my labs, EKG, etc are almost perfect :yes:.

Today is my pre op visit for clearance with my primary, I have copies of all of the above tests, she just needs to sign off on the surgery and I am good to go.

The surgeons note was included with my results, the note was well written, and covered everything we went over. I imagine he will be just a thorough during the surgery, :SUNsmile:.

Have been busy with Mom's 91st birthday, she had a wonderful time over the weekend, had her favorite foods, Dungeness Crab, and Mussels (not at the same time). Today she goes to the Italian Club for lunch with her friends and Martinis (no worries my brother is driving them). The are having pickled pigs feet (she loves them). So all in all her birthday has been perfect!
 
Sounds like all going well now for your surgery @pumpkin....sounds like your Mum had a great weekend and birthday treats....do t much like the sound of pickled pigs feet though!! Hope all hoes well...Chrissie xxx
 
When my mom was alive, my happiness depended on her happiness, because if she was unhappy, there was a problem I had to address.

So you're scheduled for April 15th?

Surgery scheduled for April 15th, first one of the day 7:30 AM, I will be glad to have this behind me.

A little glitch has occurred with my potassium levels, mine is 3.4 norm is 3.6 to 5.1, my primary feels the anesthesiologist may balk at this for an elective surgery. So I am to take a prescription strength potassium for 4 days, then be tested again. It has always been normal, and none of my medications interfere with potassium.

Then my dentists office called, they are moving to a new location the week of my pre surgery cleaning, so I will be having my teeth cleaned tomorrow :snork:.

When my Mom is happy life is easier, for the most part the problems this year have been minor. Getting her chronic UTI under control has made a big difference, last year she had one 2x a month, she was miserable.
 
Today my primary was asking me if my TKR knee hurt where she touched, I said it feels fine. Then she said let me see your other (healthy knee), she touched it, I said OH, that is a "0", yes, my TKR knee hurts. :heehee:

Well pumpkin just catching up on your thread and it looks like everything is falling into place nicely for you. April 15th, tax day!!! That will be easy for me to remember so I can be sure to check in on you. As for your potassium, I am sure that your RX will get you where you need to be. I drink coconut water quite often, it is loaded with potassium, more than bananas. Just saying...for maintenance later on.

You are smart to get your teeth cleaned now. With my revision on December 2, I was due for a cleaning on January 17th which I had to cancel. My OS told me to wait 6 months.

Re: UTI in moms. I went and got a bottle of uristix test strips. Once my mom entered the "end of life stage" where doctor's visits were only for annuals and major issues, he was amenable to more liberal prescribing. He even gave me zithromax to have on hand in case she developed signs of pneumonia. So I'd dip, report the results over the phone and they'd call in an Rx or maybe see her. In any case, having the lab strips helped us rule out UTI when she got dotty or peed more often than usual.
 
Thanks, @RunA42K , yes I am very glad to have my teeth cleaned today, no way I wanted to wait 6 more months to get this biofilm off my teeth. Hope June gets here soon so you can have yours cleaned.
Going to try the coconut water for potassium, thanks! This was the first time it was low, so may have been a one time thing.

Thanks, @maryo52 , we have the strips, and her MD will prescribe with those results. When we take her for a weeks vacation later this summer we will take a course of antibiotics along.
Been using D-Mannose with CranActin Solaray 216 g Powder, to maintain her bladder health. It seems to be helping keep the number of UTI's down. It is sweet so she drinks it right up, and helps with hydration.
So far no pneumonia, her lungs have been healthy, just hope they stay that way.
I remember your posts when you were dealing will all of your Mother's health issues, helps to know we are not alone with caregiving an elderly parent, and watching the slow slide down the slippery slope.
I just want her to be healthy and enjoy life right up to the end as much as that is possible.
