As they had to use a copy of the forum from last Thursday, all previously visited threads were reset to be as unvisited. In other words, we went though a time shift and totally lost everything we did on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It was as if they hadn't existed! Totally wiped from existence.

Look at it this way: you've had a Star Trek experience! :th_heehee:

So glad the forum is back up. Thanks to all.

Today's not such a good one ... nice to know you're all here...

Hi Randi, sorry today it not such a good day. I went through a couple of those last weekend, and they do pass.

Awww....Randi....here's hoping tomorrow is a better day for you.

Thanks guys. Got back home to Toronto from Florida late Monday. I knew I was coming home to "stuff" but didn't expect it to hit me the way it did. One of the side effects is that I haven't been able to do the bike or swim for 3 days now and that feels yuck. :sigh:

Walked my dog today for an hour which was great. Then went to my first work meeting -sat over 2 hours - forgot that I couldn't do that before ... :thumb: got up a bit stiff but nothing lingering.

Maybe tomorrow I can find a way to fit this new "routine" into my new/old life...

Hi Randi
I hope tomorrow is a better day. I bet your dog was pleased to see you back :thumb: Good wishes to you.

Randi, Sorry to hear you have been under the weather. Traveling is really hard on for a while. Right after I had my knee done I drove to the mountains and the mountains were great but it wasn't worth the horrible pain I had plus I almost didn't make it home. So do take care . I know that when I am at home I feel so good that I think I can go do a whole day somewhere and boy do I pay for it. Hope this finds you in less pain and your dog is happy that you are able to go for a walk. :doggieshmooze:Tashia:friends:

Thanks all . Feeling much better. Off to the gym today after walking my guy for an hour.:yes 4:

So it happened - had my first fall. Out with my goofy dog and he took off after a squirrel and I didn't let go of the leash fast enough --and down I plopped ... and my silly Oliver was standing spread eagled over me with his leash in his mouth looking worried.:rolleyespink: Without thinking I stood up - not even sure how- and knew right away that my TKR knee was swelling up. So now I'm home icing and elevating. Was supposed to go to the gym and swimming this aft..now not sure if I should ... I'm sure it's nothing serious just aggravating.

Now you have that block checked off! Honestly....we all take a tumble at some point for some reason. I'm glad you're okay. I'm sure your knee is fine. The soft tissue may swell and grumble at you for a few days or even a few weeks. Just keep up the icing, elevating and pain meds and it will resolve itself.

Oh no Randi!! I bet that made your heart flutter - I'm sure your knee will be ok. I had a fall in my house only a couple of weeks into my recovery - it does give us a shake up. Take care.

Hi Randi, Glad you're ok after the fall. I'm dreading the first fall, or even stumble. I'm not looking forward to our winter as we get lots of ice. Maybe I'll just stay home on those days.

Thanks everybody. Today I'm okay - proud of my new knee which seems to have recovered quickly :happy dance:. Bruised and two very sore arms but back to walking ,:doggieshmooze: swimming and the gym. It's so true - check off another milestone !

That is wonderful news! That is indeed a victory! Keep up the great work and keep posting those successes! Way to bounce back!

More ups and downs...does this ever end ? Yesterday I picked my sister up from hospital after her knee replacement - moved her and her luggage etc from her room to my car and then drove her from one end of the city to the other and took all her stuff up to her rehab room. When I left I was exhausted and my knee hurt more than ever in the last month and a half. Went on the bike and swam -and it hurt !!! So , iced , rested and worried ...This morning I woke up stiff but not sore -and by this afternoon, as the sun came up and the temperature rose, I set out on a walk -and ended up walking almost 3 miles ! Not only no pain, but I felt amazing...home now icing because I'm a bit stiff but oh so proud of myself !

The stiffness may come and go for a while longer---for no good reason. My stiffness was with me for about four-five months, and then went bye-bye for good. You are doing fine, and you are mentally handling these ups and downs of the recovery roller coaster ride quite well.

A wise move to elevate/ice and rest as needed!
