@fulafoto, on getting that surgery date!!!! What a relief, but the continued waiting will not be the easiest thing to deal with. But you know we're here for you every step of the way!

@fulafoto..........SO HAPPY FOR YOU!:happydance: Doing the happy dance! Not to pop your bubble, but when I went to Florida 2 weeks ago, it was a 436 mile one way, I had to take something about 150 miles out to knock me out, my hips just could not handle the position. Be prepared, a short trip maybe. I know your pain, mine has only increased as my time grows closer and I have been burning the candle at both ends at work to get caught up and ahead. I worked 6 hours yesterday and I am trying to talk my body into getting out of bed, showering and going back into the office for a few hours today. I usually have weekends off. Having my pre-op tomorrow at 3. They have only told me sometime Friday morning, but will call me on Thursday with the time, guess so I won't sweat about it. If you can get both done, get them done, especially with all you have been through to just get one done. Again, so happy for you.

Hi - somehow managed to miss the news that you have got your date. Although a bit belated, congratulations! I am so very pleased for you and hope that the next few weeks will speed by.
I also hope that the pain in the meantime will be just a tiny bit more bearable, knowing that soon the op will be over and you will be on the other side and recovering.
Great news!
X

Thanks @Josephine
@put2pasture - thanks for your kind wishes and yes I am aware that my hips may not handle the trip well although it is only just down the road about 200 kilometres so that should not be too bad. We will stop and take breaks if I need them (we are actually heading off this morning so very excited!)
@dogwheels Thanks also for your lovely wishes - it is hard keeping up with everyone isn't it? I am trying to pretend the pain is a bit more bearable and cannot wait until the end of April

OMG...Bill @fulafoto .....I'm a bit late but so excited for your news.....life at the end of the tunnel!!!!! :yay::yay::happydance::happydance::egypdance::egypdance:

Sorry i haven't been around but so glad you have something more concrete to focus on

Yay....

Hey Sally @Vetgirl thanks for you kind wishes and yes you have more than enough on your plate at this time I know.
Just a little update (as we have been away for the week relaxing) I had the cancer spot out of my left leg just above the ankle and had to go back to the Dr on Monday as it was read and sore around the incision - she prescribed Keflex for me (a question for you Sally @Vetgirl - did or do they play up with your toileting? I have been going nearly continually!). Stitches are now out (8 of them in total) and the lab report says it was an actual cancer and sunspot however the Dr got it all with clear margins around both which is good. Down to steristrips now until they fall off.
I had a phone call on Monday as well from an OT - she has been asked to come and assess the house for my recovery - things are REALLY moving now!!!

Hey Bill @fulafoto so glad you got away....I forgot it was this week. Sorry

Now the Keflex....I had a few bouts of the runs...not that often though. However I'm not eating much either. I know it is one of the side effects of it.

How exciting that you have OT stuff happening...makes it feel real

Hope you had a good break from reality

Xxx

Hi Bill, @fulafoto - Keflex will most definitely give one the trots, especially if it is 500 mg three times a day (tds). When I had to have it recently, for you and Sally, @Vetgirl know what for, the Doc only prescribed it twice a day (bd) to spare me!

Makes sure you are taking some live probiotics Bill, they help :)

Sorry, I have been MIA - long story.... will catch up with both of you over the w/e xxxxxxx
