TKR Pain 2 years after TKR

Ah the bathroom floor measure! Works for me too. We have floor boards so it's easy to count back. I noticed an improvement there too.
Quite stiff this morning. Weather's damp again. Just wondering what to wear to the appointment. It's the little things!

He's at it again...... Hubby I am talking about. Getting on at me to get out on my bike or he will sell it and telling me I am still milking the recovery. Telling me to get out walking as I am bound to have recovered by now. Also said don't get your other knee done as I couldnt go through this again. One husband going free if anyone wants him :hissy:

Oh boy! Just what you don't need!! Grrrr

I meant that He said he couldn't go through it again not me. Reads that I couldn't.. Lol.

I'm sure someone or Craig's List would jump at a used husband!

Has your husband read any of the articles on Bonesmart? He needs to study up on a knee replacement! Get real, man!

I felt it in the quad going up and down stairs for quite a while, though it gradually improved. You are not at 3 months yet. Slowly but surely is what worked for me.

Periodically my husband and I suffer from what we call "the stupids". It's a bad day when we have it together. However, when one is acting particularly moronic, we always say "well, you can't fix stupid" and it snaps him (or me) out of it. @sistersinhim is right; your husband needs a very fast education and I'm sorry he didn't read anything here beforehand.

Boo for the doldrums Mollymax. And damp and dismal certainly doesn't help.
 sending you some sunshine! Hope youre felling better soon!

Quick update. Saw physio this morning. She is happy with me. ROM was 95 and she thinks it won't get much better due to my lymphodema. Extension was - 1 so she was happy with that. Said there was still a slight lag with straight leg raises but it's obvious it was getting better. Said I could try riding my bike just not to fall off... Lol. She said normally she wouldn't say to ride until 12 weeks but she feels I am ready. No need to see her again unless I need her. So all is well.

Excellent @Mollymax! Just what you needed to hear. Don't rush back on that bike though...

Great report! You might still get a little more flexion back as you do things like ride your bike, but if you don’t you know why. And that last bit of extension will come. Again, naturally. You won’t even need to think about such things. You can get on with life and doing the things you love.

Update. Appt went well. So pleased to have seen my surgeon. She told me knee has healed beautifully and to get back to a normal life. Asked how far I had walked and told her 2 miles was furthest. Said I can up that now. Def to get compression stocking back on. Now on waiting list for other knee which is approx 3 months but may be a little less. She did warn me I would find other knee more painful. Seems that is normal she said as people forget the pain they had first time round and are surprised at second time. So on count down to next knee and here's to a happy walking life. Forgot to ask for letter for airport but I guess I will be OK without it or I suppose doctor could give me one if really need it.

Sounds good @Mollymax. Cant say I agree about next knee being more painful though.
So you're on the waiting list. Op November or December. Good timing. You can recover at home over the winter months ready to burst forth in the Spring or Summer!
At least you know now. You can relax and enjoy your holiday.
PS you really don't need a letter for the airport so don't worry about that.

@Spex10 so you wouldn't say it would be more painful? Wonder why she said that. Maybe because I had said my pain wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. And she said people forget how much pain they were in. I am going with I survived this one I can survive the next. Just remind me when I come back on with the date of my next one and say how terrified I am - which will happen because I will be - that it wasn't as bad as I expected.

Daren't tell my work yet about second op. I will wait till I get the date. Told manager today that I would sign myself fit for work on 17th Sept a non working day for me then take my 2 weeks holiday from that date so going back after holiday. Didn't satisfy her though as she is going to decide if the business can support this next fit note. Pathetic. I have told her I intend to return. Mind you after next op I am not so sure.

Yep can look forward to my holiday now. Still going to use airport assistance though.

So if I am quiet from now it means nothing to report on but I will be back when I get my next date. Thank you everyone for getting me through something I was totally terrified about

My OS said the exact opposite, that his experience is that the second one is easier. Happily that has very much been my experience.

And mine as previously stated (and sung around the house!)

My first one wasn’t as bad as expected, and I think the second is no more painful, but I am more impatient with the pain......I want it gone now.

Also, the pain is in different places....I had more sciatica with the latest one.
