THR One week to go!

My Recliner was and still is..my best friend.
It is used and doesn't match my decor or color scheme in my living room...but it isn't going anywhere.
I have the same feelings about mine! I've more than gotten my money's worth out of it. Ahhhh comfort :ice:

I’m sure everyone is nervous as they wait. It is, after all, a major surgery. I have to admit though when the day actually came, I was almost glad because I was thinking about how nice it would be to get rid of that pain. Once the surgery is over, you’ll probably have a bit of discomfort for a few days from the surgery but all that other pain will be gone. You will have your life back once again!! You might think ahead to what you will do to pass the time as you recover. Sometimes watching tv all day gets old. You might consider knitting, sewing, puzzles, a couple good books, calling an old friend, or even playing games on your computer. You will also need to nap some to be sure you are getting enough rest. Then there is always BoneSmart! I spend hours on here as I recovered. Sending good wishes your way!

Thank you @GrannyC I am getting more nervous as the days go by, I think more than anything I'm not looking forward to being cooped up at home as I get bored easily but I will just have to deal with it as I can't wait to be out of pain!!

I have decided I may start knitting, I have colouring books too and lots of friends who will be popping round but I can imagine I'll spend a lot of time on here!

Good luck with surgery! It’s right around the corner. I have the same chair questions as you. My date is the 25th.

Great. All set for some down time and then getting on with your life with good hip.:happyfeet:

Good deal, I got almost everything I needed from the used store in town. That's where I got my cane,grabbers and dressing stick. They are run by a local ministry and get a lot of brand new items from local stores.

@Rhiannon89
I know you are anxious, but it will be fine and it will be great to say goodbye to hip pain!
Sending you all the best..See you on the healing side...:fasthorse:

Best wishes for tomorrow @Rhiannon89

We'll all be watching for your first post on the healing side :SUNsmile:

Hey all, thought I would resurrect this thread now I have a week to go! Well a week tomorrow, I start self isolating tomorrow for a week.

I went through quite an anxious period when I first got my appointment but that seems to have passed, I've dug out my toilet seat riser, my grabber and things like that so I feel a bit more prepared. I hate that I will have to wait for surgery alone and have no visitors this time but I'm sure I'll cope. It will all be worth it when this pain goes away, I was walking up the road and the sharp groin pain is really bad today and travelling down my leg, to think next week that pain will be gone is amazing!

Just got to keep myself amused for a week now!

@Rhiannon89 Not long now! Keep posting here. If you can't have visitors, there is always someone on BoneSmart to keep you company - and it's already socially distanced! :heehee:
