THR On My Feet Again

Hi @SE Florida :hi:
I hope you're doing well and are having a good weekend so far.
Wishing you a beautiful week to come.
Happy Sunday!

I know @Carriemay60 !!! When I think of something to post on my thread, I can't even find the darned thing!!! If you hadn't found it to post on today, it would too far down for me to see! :shrug: I hope you're having a much better day today.....I have a sick "fur baby" today so I haven't been on here much to check on everyone yet. I hope you're enjoying your weekend as much as possible------sunshine always seems to help recovery!!!

Going on week 6:

One thing I managed to get through semi-easily was the post surgery pain. I think that's because I've been dealing with the gut wrenching, eye popping, gnawing pre-op pain for years. You know what I mean if you're reading this. So I was shocked last night once I got in bed that I had pain in the side of my thigh. So I immediately got up for my ice. It helped so well that I woke up this morning and thought I'd clean my bathroom. Maybe after the bathroom, move on to the kitchen or something. I mean I feel good so why not? And I hate disgusting bathrooms:nah:So my big update is :groan::no-fin: but at least the bathroom is clean?

Happy Monday!
It sounds like you're doing well and since this isn't your first rodeo it seems you know your limitations.
Easy to push it when we're feeling well though.
I hope you have a lovely day and a great week!
@SE Florida

@Layla It only takes a brief lapse of memory to do something that's beyond my capabilities like cleaning the bathroom!! Post-surgery fog is a good excuse since I'm not on any meds now!!!

Oh ouch, ouch, ouch!!! :censored:

Bathroom cleaning requires so much bending, twisting, reaching and small spaces. We'll accept brain fog but only this once! From above I think you do know you are not yet even 6 weeks out!
:bignono:

Does lack of sleep count by any chance? I'm pretty sure I was also delirious from 1 hour of sleep! Long story, had sick dog all day/all night! :yawn: :bored: But yes, VERY stupid thing to attempt today. A little angry with myself!!!
@Carriemay60

@Carriemay60 Oh, sleeping like a baby of course. :chinstroke: She's rounded the corner with a tummy problem. I'm just glad this didn't happen when I was still immobile!! The little stinker is 18 years old and my husband's #1 girl :puppysmooze:

This coming Thursday will be my 7th week post-op and I'm curious to hear if anyone had a hip replacement and then had the other hip replaced a few years later. My recent surgery was on my right hip and it seems to be healing well, no complications to speak of but a few pulls and twinges. What has surprised me is I'm starting to have slight pain on my left side that was done in 2014. The pain is not severe but it lingers off and on for a few minutes at a time. It feels like it's actually on the incision area. My gait has been way off for the past 7 years so I just figured that it's because all of my "parts" are settling back in to a normal position since I now have both hips working and walking correctly. Or am I crazy?? :what: :shrug:

I think it is most probable that your "old" hip is readjusting to your "new hip". I'm not sure it would be very unlike having a new hip next to a natural hip if your body was compensating? Obviously, I'm guessing really.

I had that same thought after posting @Carriemay60 because when I had my first hip done, I remember having pain in my other (natural one) hip during my recovery phase. That kind of makes sense. What an emotional roller coaster this is and sometimes fearing things will suddenly go wrong! How about you, is your groin pain getting any better?

Hi @SE Florida
I agree that it's probably your gait changing and readjusting to its new teammate. I truly wouldn't worry about it.
Give it some time and you'll probably forget it was ever even bothering you.
Hope you have a nice evening and great week! :SUNsmile:

@Layla i guess all these little pings and pangs is a reminder to me that the journey has a way to go yet. Hard to keep a bright outlook some days. I loved your comment "teammates"........they really are now!
