Hi everyone - I was really pleased with the cake and it tasted every bit as nice as it looked. Yummy to the tummy!! No cake next week as daughter will be off to Chamonix in the French Alps, and I daren't make anything when I am unable to lessen the calorie count by giving her half! However, on her return I'll be trying Chocolate Bounty Bar cookies. I'm so pleased to have found the website that I am using for all this yumminess.
Thanks for the info on the 'Whoppers' @DogLoverx3 - do you have Bounty bars or do you call them something else too?? (chocolate covered coconut bars). Daughter and I used to have great fun buying up Asian food that had suggestive names in English to give to friends, and in Abu Dhabi we bought up all the mini bottles of 'Rambo' aftershave and distributed it widely. Yes ....... I freely admit to being very silly and childish!
I'm now down at our other place, the sun is shining on the water and my friend has just phoned to say she has booked a table for lunch on Saturday at one of our favourite restaurants, which is just a pleasant amble along the riverbank.
@Ellejay - glad that you are still having the best time in France, and hope that your next site is just as good as the ones so far have been. Mmmmmmmm French Patisserie - Coffee Religieuses are my all time fave. (the choux buns with the little profiterole sized one on top, that look like baby nuns). The market you visited sounded great - right up my alley! Shame about your G and T sorbet. I have made one and it worked fine but tasted ridiculously alcoholic - always a good thing. However, I didn't use my ice cream maker - it was a DIY job. Onwards and upwards with the slushy maker. I WILL make it work once I get back.
Hubby is gearing up for his race. I have told him that the International Knee Club are all cheering him on. He has 3 other crew (although due to light winds and good weather he wishes there was only him and 2 others). Lots of skippers would ditch one member at the last minute to be more competitive, but he is doing it for the fun of it ............ or so he says. Ha ha! Fun?? My husband aka the most competitive man in the world!!! One of his crew is an ace photographer, so if there are any good snaps I will post.
@Celle - glad that you are enjoying your time with the newest addition to your family. But your poor knee must be suffering. Just wait until she's a bit older and gets a toy nurses outfit, then she will want to look after everyone as her patients! Thanks for bringing good weather with you - yay! Hope you enjoy the rest of your visit.
@Nana moon 27 - thinking of you today, and hope to hear that all has gone smoothly.
@TexasTee - it is a total conspiracy with these alerts. I've given up and just go manically searching for everyone's stuff now.
Must go everyone - talk later.
