TKR Oh Baby feel the (k)need in me - the sequel ..

Good morning everyone - I will not be around much as I am off to my Mum's today on the emergency toilet paper run! She also has run out of money (stop off at cash point en route) as her credit card isn't working and she cannot understand the customer service operator on the phone (long phone call which will involve getting through security so that I can sort it out). She tells me the customer service op was 'foreign' and she couldn't understand the accent ...... 'I think she was American' she said!! You guys across the pond will appreciate that one ...... perhaps its just as well we post on here, as your accents may be too much for me too :rotfl:.

@ Susanne and @71Beetle - yes a fox eating Bundt cake, or in fact anything that I choose to throw out into the garden is a pretty common occurrence. I try not to encourage them, as they also figure that my garden is the perfect spot of foxy sunbathing, as it is quiet, secluded and without any dogs to disturb. Yesterday I put the cake out for the birds and squirrels ........ but my red furry friend got there first!

@71Beetle - my garden recliner is a zero gravity chair. I had never heard that name before, so I Googled it - you learn something everyday. Very comfy, supports the leg and extremely sleep inducing ..... zzzzzzzzzz .........

Ooops - not sure how that happened ...... instant posting before I was ready to go!

@Nana moon 27 - thanks for asking about the Vogue chair. It is just about finished, and now needs varnishing - its a bit warm at the moment, I prefer to varnish when it is cooler. The varnishing is my least favourite job as it usually gives me a headache. I'd love to be able to do it outside, but don't want leaves, dirt ............ or foxes (ha ha) getting stuck to it!
As it is you Ann - I'll take and post a pic in a minute, so that you can see it.
Husband wants to know what I am going to do with it. It is too heavy to post easily for an eBay sale - although it could be collected in person. The chair only cost me £1.50, so I am not too worried. I'll have to think about that one.
I've done some little boxes too, with adverts and one with vintage matchbox labels. Nothing is safe here - if it stands still it gets covered!
I have had an enquiry from somebody who wants a really big trunk/ottoman. Not too sure there. I am thinking of asking them to provide the piece and then I will charge for the decoration? However vintage magazines are getting harder and harder, and more expensive to come by. It would be quite difficult to price.

Oh well enough of my crafty thoughts - I'll take and post the pics, then off to Mum's ......

OMG @dogwheel oh I love it so much!!!! It's absolutely fantastic x. That us a real labour if love. I adore the design and particularly love the lady in the seat. She's wearing a coat very similar to what my mom wore in that era. Wowee xxxxx love it!!! Xxxx

@dogwheels your work is awesome. How fun and what a great idea.
I love my zero gravity chair. It was a bit scary when I used it for the first time but I am used to it now and have has a few hours of sleep in it for sure.
Enjoy your visit with your mom. I hope you can get things sorted out with her credit card.

@dogwheels Love the Vogue chair!! The music one is lovely also but I'm a big fan of fashion...great work!!

I thought of you yesterday as I was looking at ads in Austin - there is a " Austin dog wheels" charity that provides dog wheel chairs to dogs in need!

Off to check out zero gravity chairs..

Haha - great pictures of the fox - uhm, do you not have Tupperware over the pond and have to throw left over cake into the yard? :heehee:

I hope you are having an awesome day! xoxo

I LOVE your decoupage! That takes some serious patience! I want that chair!

I hope your visit with your mum goes well and you got there in time to save her from a life of crime.

@dogwheels How very creative you are!!!! I love them. It is so fun to see people's real life on here. Do you sell these decoupage items? I know you had sold some smaller items in a shop. I am wowed. (is that a word?) Thank you for sharing these.

Hi Chris @dogwheels - your furniture would be so easy to sell over here. It is so unique. You could probably even have a tv show on our HGTV home improvement network. Really spectacular.

I also love your visiting fox. That's not something you see here. He looks quite comfortable in your yard.

I am glad you are going to your other house and hope you enjoy yourself! Have a great weekend. Xoxo

Hi all - as expected, I was up and about sorting out my clothes and some food, and some 'just in case of emergency' painkillers, to get ready to come down to our other house this morning. Therefore I have only just come on to check what everybody is up to. We arrived at lunchtime, the sun is shining on the water and it is lovely to see some different scenery. A few neighbours have already popped by to see me.
The drive down here was hilarious. To start with we did our usual route via Hampton Court to the M3, but I haven't been down there for 5MONTHS! It's only a few miles away but I have always been using the other route into London and down to Mum's. I was like a visitor all the way down - pointing out things, new buildings, roadworks, new shops, that my husband said aren't new at all ........ gosh everything changes so quickly. It was bad enough when I used to pop back frequently from the Middle East, but that was usually every 8 weeks, so there were not too many changes. But after 5 months - WOW!
Husband treated me like a small child on the way down, asking if we needed to stop at each Motorway Services, but I succumbed to just one stop (even though I didn't need it - but he insisted) and had a quick walk about for 5 mins and then we went on our way. In the past I have often needed a 'comfort stop' at that particular place and the first thing that struck me today was that this time I got out of the car and starting walking straightaway, there was none of the old 'getting the knee going' and then limping along until hopefully things loosened up a little.
Thankfully husband has been keeping the house clean and tidy on his many solo visits but I had forgotten quite how many stairs and steps we have here - and that the first 2 floors are split level. Up and down, up and down .... Huh! I think this weekend will be an ongoing exercise in steps - my own mini exercise course!! But so far so good, although I have wimped out on walking down so far, as the main stairs have lots of turns and are open tread. I will get brave shortly.
Well my husband has put the 2nd zero gravity chair on the main balcony - I managed to find one pair of my sunglasses - the other must be totally buried in the 'black hole' that is my shoe cupboard, I have some Factor 30 ready - so you know where I am headed!
It's such a beautiful day here and the views are lovely - I wish you could all join me. I'll take some photos in a bit.
Take care everyone

Can't wait to see pictures! Glad you made it safe and sound and so pleased that your hubby is taking such wonderful care of you. It's like you're a veal! Or a Fabrage' Egg! Wait until the plastic bubble he ordered for you arrives! :-)

Have a wonderful time! xoxoxo

OK - here's some pictures for you from this afternoon ........... getting a bit pink so I have come in for a while. I'll be out there later with my glass of wine or a cold beer. Just wish all you guys could be here too - we'd have the best and noisiest time!
The first is the view from our bedroom balcony on the very top floor ...... since my last post I am now managing the stairs properly up and down - whoopee!

This one is zoomed a bit from our main balcony on the first floor which is an extension of the open plan living bit. (Our boat's the middle one - husband keeps his racer elsewhere)

This is view at the front of the house, the old mediaeval Priory. I really should have taken a video clip - because as I was taking this, the bells were chiming and the choir was practising. Perfect! Behind the hedge at the bottom is a small river.

This last one is of our outside stairs that link the balconies on each floor. Not yet I think ....... I will need to be very brave to try these ....... perhaps next weekend??

The forecast is good for the weekend - so now you know where I am, I'll take some more tomorrow when I am out and about. It is very pretty here.

Can't be bothered to dirty up yet another set of bedlinen, so hubby and I will have to share once more. Have to admit to enjoying the peace and quiet sleeping on my own up until now. Thankfully we have a superking, so I have put a row of bolsters down the middle to prevent him doing damage to me in the night. To my knee of course!!!! (@DogLoverx3 - I think its my turn now to be protective - I could do with that plastic bubble) He has a happy habit when I am asleep and facing him with my knees bent up, of bringing his bent up knees under mine, effectively 'kneecapping' me and making me writhe about in pain. No chance that is happening - so the chastity bolsters are in position!!

Hope everyone is OK.

:shocked:yikes on the knee capping! Good idea with the bolsters.

What a lovely house you have and love love love the view and being so close to the water. I wish we could all be there with you (actually, since I'm selfish, I really wish I could be there and then everyone else is on their own) :heehee:

Those stairs do look a bit daunting. Very pretty, but very curvy and I would be nervous as well. I'm sure by the end of the weekend you'll have them down pat though.

Enjoy your lovely weekend! Yey for good weather!!

What a wonderful place you have. This would be my main dwelling if I had the choice! Pleased that you made it there with little incidence. Hope you have a wonderful time!
