Just to drop by to see how you are doing. Hope your pain is better and that You are working on your craft. Speaking of crafts, What do you do? :doggieshmooze:Tashia:loll:

Hi Tashia, I'm doing much better....no infection and feeling better/stronger each day.
I crochet, mainly baby clothes and bunny rugs. I've been thinking of doing a stack and taking them to the local market to see if there's any interest out there. :)

Question....some replies seem to be missing from my thread, is it normal for things to disappear??
Tanya

Hi Tanya, unfortunately there was a major problem with the BoneSmart site over the weekend. So some posts have disappeared as they had to back up the site using older information. Very sorry about this. No, it's not normal for things to disappear! :hairpulling:

Thanks Jacey, it must be very frustrating for you guys but you do a fantastic job here at BS and we would all be lost without this site!!

More frustrating for the techie guys I think. They have been working around the clock this past weekend to get things corrected.

So glad you are seeing the benefits of BS!

Hey Tanya
Stopping by to say hi and see how your doing. The site went down and I think a post or two of mine was removed ..hope all is well Hippie sister!!

Hey Donnie,

Every day I'm getting a little stronger. Hubby went back to work today so this was my first day home alone....well I use the term alone loosely lol mum come to visit and then before I knew it the kids were home from work and school!
I did some light house work today (not too much) and I'm managing on just one cane around the house but I'm still using 2 when I go out (just to keep me steady).
I'm off to the doctor again tomorrow to get my dressings changed. They are keeping a pretty close eye on my wound while it's still healing!!
The only part of my recovery I'm not overly happy with is sleeping. I'm not in pain but I'm still waking through the night so I'm thinking maybe it's become a habit? Not sure how to solve the issue either.

Anyway hope you are doing well, I'll jump on and have a look at your thread.
Take care
Tanya xx

Hi Tanya, writing this on my phone so forgive errors. You sound like you are spot on with recovery. I know the sleeping is something we all complain about. It does improve, suddenly you will wake up one morning and realise you have slept through. Xxxxx got to go, dinner is cooking.

HI Tanya,

The sleeping issue can take a long time, best to just go with it and not fight it...sleep whenever and where ever you can...I am 17 weeks out and sleeping pretty good now but was up last night carousing around until 2AM. It will come, you know...the key word around here-patience. All the best to you.

Thanks Sandy and Diane,
It's good to know that what I'm experiencing is fairly normal.

Also I would like to just point out I'm a junior member now, no longer a newbie woooohooooo I feel special lol.
Tanya

Congrats on being a "junior" and you are very special to us. And what you are experiencing is VERY normal...isn't it nice to know you are on the road to recovery...hang in there!

Thanks Josephine, that was very interesting and I can relate to many of those symptoms/reasons for being awake.
I know it will get better and it already is improving gradually.
Last night I went to bed at around 11pm and didn't wake up until 5am.....that's the longest I have sleep in one go for a very long time possibly even years!!
I just need to add a couple of hours to this and I'll be a happy camper :)
Thanks again and I just want to add, I love BS :)
Tanya

Tanya
You slept six hours without waking up. Congratulations.
I used to have no problems sleeping prior to surgery. I don't think I have even made four hours at one go yet. I know all of the TV programs on at night now.
Eventually sleep will come.
Sounds like you are doing great with your healing now. Better sleep will come too.
Take care and rest.
Bea

Thanks Bea, I haven't slept well for a longtime having such severe joint pain so last nights sleep was amazing.
I popped in to see my boss today and she couldn't believe how great I look and how well I'm walking, she said that before the op you could literally see the pain on my face....I had big black circles under my eyes but all that s gone now woooooohoooo.

I went for my dressings to be changed today and the dr was happy for me to not have dressings anymore, I'm so excited but a little nervous as well.....what if the glue comes undone. Unlikely I know but it still worries me!
Anyway today has been a big one and I'm exhausted so off for an afternoon nanna nap.
Happy healing everyone

Hey Donnie, I too read your story with great interest knowing our op's were the same day as well. I know everyone heals at different rates but we sound about on par which is awesome.
I had another check up with my dr today and to get dressings change and guess what.....no more dressings yayyy it's all knitted back together nicely :)
and yes the sleeping is improving immensely....I'm also waking maybe once through the night but I think it's more out of habit now rather then pain or the need to get up.
Hope you are getting some good rest. :thumb:
Talk soon

Tanya,

So glad to hear things are coming along...that's how it goes, little milestones like getting the dressing off, sleeping better...some days I actually don't think about hips (imagine that!) and that will come to you also. Sending you love and wellness.

Tanya, How did your changing of dressing go. Is everything ok.? With the all the rain please be careful. I do by the time you would of already gone but still be careful. Remember take a easy, ice, and do pain control like everyone has said. It does work. :doggieshmooze:Tashai:loll:

Not feeling great today, just a bit emotional but I will get through...it's funny I seem to have a few ood days then coming crashing down to reality again!!

I have a silly question, I see people talking about anterior and posterior approach, what does this mean and how do you know which one you have?
Thanks
Tanya
