Sunday Update Y'all:
I do think the new meds and gallons of water are taking care of that pesky UTI. Hoping!

MIL update:
Sadly, My Tommy will bring his momma home tomorrow, as there is nothing more medically that can be done for her. Thankfully, the sepsis is at bay, but her congestive heart failure is out of control now. She weighed 145lbs a week ago and now weighs 188. Seven of those pounds came on over night. Younger brother is still on the way from Saudi, where he teaches. Hopefully he'll arrive soon. More importantly. I'm praying that she'll be able to have some sunny days on her porch. This is where I'll always remember her.

Tommy says he'll be home in time for my surgery on the 9th, but mentally I'm preparing myself for another delay. I sure don't want him rushing home before he's emotionally ready. Herman may have to wait...even tho the pain worsens daily. Grrrrrrrrrr!

Love to All of You, My Hipster Warriors! :froggies:

So sorry to hear all of these things happening in your life. Hoping your MIL gets home and gets to see her boys. Some sun on the porch sounds a lovely place to be.

Crossing fingers that pesky UTI is cleared too. Even if your surgery is delayed, as you said, at least it will give you time for the UTI to fully clear.

Best wishes

I'm so sorry Jill, but as you said, "God works in mysterious ways". I know how disappointing it is to be told you need to wait, but I'm a firm believer in "In His time" (although I found it hard to rest in that when I found out the day before that my insurance hadn't been approved. This must be such a difficult time for you AND hubby! I will be keeping you in prayer. Blessings!

@Cynthia777 So, so happy to be reading of your adventure and that your pain is manageable! Yay You! WooHoo! :happydance:

I'm sooo looking forward to only having that surgical pain! You'll be happy to know that OS has given me Percocet that I'm taking on schedule. I'm walking some (around the house & on the deck) but mainly trying not to aggravate The Beast. That never ending groin/leg pain is much easier managed from my bed. My neighbors are hovering to make sure I'm ok...and one even installed my "comfort height" potty for me so that My Tommy wouldn't have to worry about that.

Yes...these delays and interruptions are part of His Plan and I'm totally at peace with however long everything takes. Of course my eyes and mind are on May 9, but I've told Tommy that I'm mentally ready to postpone again if it's not possible for him to get home by then. It's just a matter of time for his momma, as everything has been done that can be done. :sorry:

Thanks so much for your concern and caring :loveshwr: Please know that you're in my thoughts and that I'm sending you healing prayers and positive thoughts for a speedy recovery. Rest & Relax! :sleep:

@Jillie422 :friends: praying for you and MIL and DH. :prayer: Hope you don't have another delay. Hope all the Boys make it to see their Mom and that she can be in a comfortable place. Glad you were able to get a script to manage your pain beforehand. Can't wait for you to meet Herman! :cheers:

luckily i took blood thinning tablets rather than having power socks but a lot of people can't take them or aren't offered. Perhaps you could ask. I did use the grabbers for my underwear as although I could lift my leg, the leg hole went wherever it wanted as i dangled it and i ended up having a fight with one toe in and four fighting to get in! :tantrum::gaah:easier to lay them on the floor, slide feet in, use grabber. Ten days on I actually got my foot into the proper place and was pleased as punch all day.:egypdance: Now its a goal, I can't go backwards, it has to be done. Also managed the trousers. Good luck.:flwrysmile:

Jill, I so hope things go well this week and that you may still be able to get Herman without further re-scheduling.

You have a great attitude despite the pain you are in.

Hugs from a fellow traveler along this road.

Kathy

Oh, Jill, I feel so badly for your hubby and his brother. We all seem to know what the outcome will be - and that she and they have some pleasant time on the porch. What a stressful time for them, especially. And thank goodness for you and your caring nature.....to be so a peace with your own schedule, and able to convey that to Tommy. That surely gives him some added comfort. What time is Tommy's brother due to arrive? ~ How sweet that your neighbors are hovering.....that helps, too. Stay in touch, my friend.

@Jillie422
I'm so happy to hear that you've got additional help when needed AND that you've been given pain meds to get you through to your big day! Btw, my dad's name was Tom (aka Tommy by his friends and family) and my brother's name is Tom (aka Tommy growing up, so when mom called we knew who she was calling). :-)

What? Me Worry? Not usually.... Nope, not the worrying type. That being said, I'm Worried! Been drinking lotsa water, taking my Augmentin religiously every 12 hours. Urine is clear as a mountain stream. But is there a beast lurking?...waiting to keep me crippled even longer? Feeling pressure in lower abdominal area, although I seem to be eliminating as much of the H20 as I'm taking in. Oh geeze...could these two rounds of antibiotics have created the dreaded Yeast Beast? Hmmmm...is there discomfort in the privates or just my imagination? As I remember, both lower attackers can have similar symptoms. Where's that acidophilus? Took 3. Thinking I'll call OS and see if it would be a good idea to have my next urinalysis sooner, rather than waiting until Friday.... Or.... Should I just calm down and continue taking my Augmentin. If this pressure is still the UTI, should I take an extra Augmentin to blast it? And if it's rather a yeastie, would that delay the playdate with my OS next Monday? Oh the ramblings of a woman in pain. I'm thinking @Josephine may be able to calm my mind...

Good morning Jill. UGH!!! Yes...you're worrying...possibly with good reason...maybe not. Whenever I've had to take a strong antibiotic, I've learned to also take a probiotic.....just to prevent exactly what you're concerned about...the dreaded yeast infection. The trick is to take the probiotic at opposite intervals...meaning you would take the antibiotic say at 7 AM and 7 PM, so take the probiotic at noon and midnight, or so,....but don't take them at the same time. Hope Josephine can help....and maybe explain it more clearly. You've been taking these drugs for some time now, so I don't even know if taking a probiotic at this point would be effective. ~ Thinking of you.

@Nana2 Thank You! It's been So Very Long since I've had a UTI or Yeastie that the probiotic completely slipped my mind. Just in case I can play catch up and have it help, I'm taking it as you suggested :). I did call the Nurse at OS today, told her what's going on and she said to go get a round of Monistat, so I did. That stuff is $23.00 now!! At Walgreens, but they're the only game in my tiny town, so they've got ya lol. Wanted you to know that Josephine, so you can see where I am with this.

I figure if I get relief from the Monistat in a couple of days, then I'll know I'm Good To Go on Monday. When I arrive for my surgery, they'll do a cath tube UA to get the cleanest catch...and I guess we'll go from there. I also have had this nagging headache for 3 days that comes and goes. I'm one who rarely ever has a headache. I'm hesitant to take anything for it, with the possibility of surgery on Monday. Oh well... This too shall pass :) :)

Hubby and MIL update:
Hubby has been busy, busy as the oldest child, making all the arrangements for his mom to arrive home with everything medically she may need. Hospice has been a blessing, taking some of the stress off Hubby with all that they provide.

She did arrive from the hospital at about 4pm and he said she was alert and smiling to be home. Well Done, Son. Now we're praying for her to enjoy as many bright days on her porch as she possibly can. Younger Son has arrived from Saudi and will stay for a couple of weeks.

Everything is as well as it can be right at the moment. God Bless.

Glad to hear Tommy's brother has made it to their moms and that he is able to stay for a couple of weeks. Your hubby must be so torn. I hadn't realized that hospice is involved as well....but it's a comfort for all.

I also wonder about something other than Monostat (yuk!!! so messy) - could one big Diflucan pill wipe it all out? (or is it two big pills? can't remember). Stay strong.

Oh dear, I came to read up on your thread and see if you are ready for your upcoming surgery date and my goodness, you have had your hands full. :xmark::xmark::xmark: I wish for the very best for you and your family and Please let the hip gods smile upon your scheduled surgery date and let things be a go!

@Zelda @TriciaGP @Miss Muffet and Everyone!

Thankfully, I'm not on OTC meds. My OS did give me percocet for which I'm eternally grateful. I'm taking your advice and sticking to the 4 max per day, but taking them spaced out as circumstances dictate. Today our new mattress arrives, so I'll be overdoing it with that..but it'll be So Worth It! My faithful neighbor Becky is at the ready to help when I say the word. Yeastie seems to be backing off with second night of Monistat. Still taking Augmentin until my Date with Herman on Monday. Feeling so much better.

Hubby will be home Saturday evening. Bless his sweet heart... He's done everything humanly possible to make his mother comfortable with the best of care. I want him to leave her knowing that, but I'm sure he'll be hard on himself.

It's been tough being here a week on my own, but I'm only whining to all of you. Thank you for letting me!! Don't want Hubby feeling bad about having to be gone and I sure don't want pushy daughter arriving!!! :yikes:

RELIEF is finally on my radar! Is it too soon to begin my recovery thread? Can't wait for my new BFF Herman to arrive! Wooooohoooooo Herman!!! :happydance:

Love to All! :console2:
