My OS said mine was like the surface of the moon and he had to do a little bit of "tidying up"
I bet, between us, we could pool some wonderful new descriptions! :loll:
But oh boy does that reaffirm our decision to ditch something that wasn't doing us any favours

No TED stockings after surgery!!!!
Oh you lucky girl! Mind you, first time around I never wore mine anyway! Second time they provided me with fully length stockings of the proper size which were actually very comfy and cosy! I brought them home but somehow never got around to putting them on!

As for the Xeralto vs aspirin, aspirin is in very common use as a post-op anti-coagulant and is reported to be every bit as effective as any of the 'posh' alternatives!

Good morning! Okay.....now I am seriously jealous! Not only have you got your surgery date....in TWO days from now....but you learn that you will NOT have to don those oh-so-fashionable (and oh-so-uncomfortable) TEDS!!!! You rock, girl! Those darn things are difficult to put on under the best of circumstances, I already shudder at the thought of bending and pulling AFTER surgery!!! Plus, you're in the Carolina's and it's warm right now.

I don't have a surgical date yet. Won't even meet the OS until June 13th! However, my dreams were that he'd see my xray and say something like yours did....."Get a date for her STAT!!!" One can dream, right?

Good luck - prayers coming your way - for your uti situation tomorrow. What are you doing today and tomorrow to prepare for Friday?

@Nana2-8 Tomorrow we have to run to the hospital for the additional urinalysis. Fingers & Toes Crossed. Still guzzling cranberry juice. Yum :) Hubby is doing laundry so that I'll have clean everything. Sheets will be clean, crispy and cool. We made a nice batch of healthy spaghetti sauce last evening. I have my little list of things to take along to the hospital. :thumb:

Now that I have Percocet onboard, I'm going to bathe my sweet mini dachshund, Jax. He undoubtedly will be my guardian until I'm up and about and who knows when I'll be able to scrub him in the tub again! Posting a picture below of My Little Man. He's the Sunshine in My Life :dogwalk:

I'm so happy for you both, @Cynthia777 and @gullimac !! Both of you have had your procedures in the few days I've been on BS and you both are such inspiration for me! I'm totally confident going into this. :) Thank you ever so much, Everyone...just for sharing!
:thankyou:

Oh my, Jax is a cutie. Just as long as he doesn't trip you up when you get home! (Shoulda saved that huge, honkin' bone until you return...to keep him busy for awhile!) ~ ~ Packing your bag....don't forget a few crackers to use when you're taking pills, and possibly some chap stick. How long will you be in the hospital...do you know yet?

@Jillie422 Your Jax is so cute. I am certain he will be your recovery buddy. Fingers and toes crossed for you tomorrow!

Thank You @Jaycey and @Nana2-8 ! Yes Jax is my heart. My Sweet Hubby got him for me about a year after we married. Both Hubby and I were widowed, plus I lost my 34 year old son the same year as I lost my dear late husband. Then my 18 year old dog passed too!! Anyway, Sweet Hubby brought me home My Jax and he has Definitely Healed a portion of the Hole In My Heart! He's an amazing little dog. So smart, obedient and so emotional! Never had a dog with such feeling! I'm Blessed in So Many Ways.

Thanks for the well wishes All Y'all! :loveshwr:

Big day tomorrow, waiting to see if I'm "a go" or not! Thank goodness I have A List.... And then a Backup List lol :) Anxious to begin My Recovery thread, but decided to wait for uti results. Don't want to jinx anything! If you see a new recovery thread tomorrow, you'll know that My Day is Friday! I'm in The Best of Hands....Sweet Hubby is here for me and of course our daughters will each have to put their two cents in hahahaha. Luckily neither can get here due to work!

@Nana2-8 When I asked yesterday, the OS said I would come home on Sunday with a Friday surgery.WoooHooo! I was happy with that answer :)

Sweet Dreams All! :zzz::sleep:

@Jillie422 fingers crossed for a cleared up uti and a clear bill of health! I'm sorry you've had to wait so long in such pain. For this surgery. Happy for you that they got you scheduled so quickly though. Then it will be on to Friday!!

Hi, I took codeine right up to the day but not ibuprofen. The relief of no arthritis pain is phenomenal. I went straight on to crutches, walked up and down corridor three times a day and did stairs with the physio on second day. It was scary but actually quite easy. I now take paracetamol and dihydrocodeine as there is muscle ache and leg tiredness pain but it works, so take it! I have four simple exercises to do four times a day and have physio once a week arranged through the hospital. First one today so will let you know. I definitely know my limitations and won't do anything before I am ready. Just being able to stride and side step is fantastic for now ten days on. I came home with sticks but have a crutch at home which I use when just using one, it's a bit more stable. I can manage a few steps unaided but a bit, well a lot, wobbly and rest as soon as any aching starts. Good luck @Jillie422 , read all the threads as we all have different problems and successes so you will never be alone.

I already shudder at the thought of bending and pulling AFTER surgery!!!
@Nana2-8 - not sure what approach you're having. I had posterior so have to observe the 90 degree rule which would be broken if I try to put on TEDs, socks, pull on underwear and lower clothing or even dry my bottom half after showering - so my hubby has the pleasure of all of these activities!

OMG - @Miss Muffet ! I don't know yet what approach I'll be having - but the thought that I'd need help to pull up underwear or lower clothing....now I really shudder! Wouldn't the grabber work in those situations? I'm asking because there is NO WAY I could 'go commando' and I know, for a fact, that DH will escape to the office the minute I take a nap....and that's exactly the time frame during which I will need to go potty. (I have an image of me being found a few hours later, dangling from the raised toilet seat, leaning against the wall, sound asleep!!, with my undies around my ankles)

@Nana2-8 - you may cope with a grabber for some bits, but you'd definately need someone else to put TEDs on and off. I went commando for the first few days as I just had a nightie on. Made loo trips easier as it was one less thing to worry about. But you'll get more info at your preOp about all of this.
