Hello @SwampHiker and thing. Many thanks for your message. Yes, tonight, tonight is my appointment. Hopefully if he has noone coming in after me I get some time or other side of the coin is he wants to run for home so I dont get any time but am armed with questions as per Layla advice.

@Jamesdean my OS was so relieved that I forgot my phone with all my questions at my six week check! Don’t forget yours, or whatever you have the questions noted on!! Good luck, always harder at the end of the day. We’ll be waiting for a full report!

thank you @Alitm Will remember the questions, and answers and report back. And here is just another song . I have recorded in the past one for my baby, real version, but this is a heartfelt so to amuse yourself why dont you go to karaoke One for my Baby on youtube and try singing the following: [Really sorry admin for fluff etc but just need to put this down before I see surgeon as bricking it]

It's quarter to 3, noone in the place 'cept you and me
I'm not limping my friend its come to an end And in recovery
I was limping for years eyes filled with tears
Tried to carry my load
Now its one for my baby and gently down the road

I got the routine, going slow you'll see just what I mean
There is no race, can go at your pace,
Progress is seen
If they tell you go fast, you'll never last And be back in limp mode
So its one for my baby and gently down the road

You'll never know it
But Hippies I'm a poet
And there's such a lot of things to say
We need to help each other be sister and brother
Till the pains gone away

So thanks for being there you really do care
And help is always at hand
I just need to log in to see your blogging
And boy it feels grand
Cant thank you enough for your encouraging stuff
And my dreams won't erode
So its one for my baby and gently down the road

The long, that long, road....

Yep, I also had the experience of figuring things out on my own. I had a home health nurse come two times the week I came home, and two times the next week. That did help a bit, as she was familiar with the various surgeons and their peculiarities. After that, it was a brave new world of Dr. Google, my local hip posse (thank goodness for these two women who shared many THR gems with me,), and eventually Bonesmart about a month in. I wasn’t given much at all in the way of discharge instructions—just the Never Do list, and the an order to begin outpatient PT once the staples come out. I also got a bit of a runaround ( and not much useful info) when I called to tweak either pain relief, nausea relief, or blood thinning meds. Yikes. Just when you feel crappy, exhausted, scared, and vulnerable, you’ve gotta yank your big girl ( or boy!) panties on to argue with front office staff, nasty PA’s, etc. it was so very draining. My surgeon was great, but the rest of his crew, not so much. I hope you are able to get through all your questions, @Jamesdean !

To one and all
Lets have a ball
If you want you can call me Al [ @SwampHiker one for you]
As I am back from horsepital.

Surgeon says Dean no need to worrie
But you will have a slow recovery
When you came in all hustle and bustle
You didn't have any leg muscle

No quads to speak of no left calf
basically walking with just one half
Got to build up the missing bits
Please be patient don't let it get on your .......[missed what he said there and forgot to tape it]

Want to see you in another six weeks
And please let the physio have a little peek
If the stuff they do starts hurting too much
You can indeed hit them with your crutch

Oh now your legs are the same height
Your pelvis and spine no longer fight
But your tendons and muscles I had to stretch
Dont panic so much and dont distress

And thats what happened, @Josephine , as always, kudos and Layla @Layla great advice

Crazy good, that one would take me a week to compose!
Glad it went well, hopefully the visit offered a lot of reassurance. Peace of mind is everything.
Sweet dreams tonight
@Jamesdean

You're very kind! I'm happy it went well for you.
I know I felt a little anxiety going into my post op appts.
Walked out feeling much lighter and happier than walking in, lol.
@Jamesdean

Thank you so much @Alitm really kind of you, I do appreciate it. Will be putting off joining you doubles as long as I can, although it has to happen, certainly not as brave as you. You should also be happy that you are in British Columbia and not the UK as apparently I can drive again, - good luck pedestrians and other road users I say.
