VTHEREANDNOW LOCKED OUT SINCE CONVERSION :sos:

I made this fictitious acct so I could contact someone. Did the forgot pswd thing, sent notes to "contact us" to no avail, and to report a bug you needed to be logged in so I finally created this account to try and let someone know. Jamie did now send me an email to verify I was not some kind of nut  but I think she logged off now so I might have to wait till tomorrow.

"I'll be back" haha , Cathy

Eeee Cathy, have you been banned!!!!!!!!

Good idea to set up another account to make contact, hope you get back on as your real self soon

Ann.x.

Uh, Oh... well I am sure that Jamie; will fix the problem.

Fantastic choice of fictitious names :) We'll wait for your return!!

Take care,
Cardie

I'M BACK! Too funny locking myself out of the site :heehee:

Quick update and then tomorrow I will try to catch up on things a bit more. Thanks all for your concern and support during my spasm freak out. Thankfully the water, potassium and electrolytes in the coconut water and ice ice ice kept the major spasms to just that one night. I almost feel like the recovery I am doing right now is from the 3x of crazy spasms. Seems to have really did a number on those muscles. PT says that since my glutes are still weak my thigh muscles were doing all the work when biking. Oh yeah and then there is me forgetting to try the biking a bit more gradual

Had a great visit with my friend, glorious weather this wknd. Let go of my excercises, only did light stretching and lots of walking and icing at night. Every day getting better, but still not where I was before spasms. Oh this knowing the proper balance thing can be quite the tightrope we are walking. Do enough to move forward yet not so much that we hurt ourselves. Seems like a good plan, but the details, ahh the details. I wish my body could just give me a nudge a bit sooner haha. ...or maybe it knows I don't much listen to a nudge and it has to do something bigger to get my attention.

- being locked out made me appreciate this site and you people even more. I was really getting frustrated not being able to get in and chat with all of you. Glad I got back in, Cathy

I couldn't agree with your above statement more, Cathy! It's a tricky see-saw, isn't it? So good to see you posting again, and too funny about getting locked out and having to create an alias! (maybe we should all have an alias?)

Take it easy.................but move! (again the "balance") :)

I was just thinking about you. Did I understand you locked yourself out of the sight? I guess that just makes us feel like we are Human. And there is nothing we can do about it. How have you been doing? I had my knee done so I am now checking up on everyone and saying Hi. Do take care and remember to drink lots of water. I have never had coconut water, Sounds good tho. Do take care. :puppysmooze:Tashia:friends:

Hiya Cathy, great to see you 'unbanned' lol and also feeling a little better. Hopefully you will be back up to speed soon.

Coconut water sounds nice, have read the article, interesting thanks, I would like to have a taste of it, love coconuty stuff me.

Take care

Ann.x.

Thanks for the cocoanut water link!

Had my follow up with my OS today; three weeks and two days since surgery. He gave me the all clear, and I am returning to work tomorrow. He didn't even think I needed additional PT; he said just keep walking and moving! Thankfully, we do have a nice workout room here, and I feel enthused (first time in my life) to exercise, so I am looking forward to taking care of this hip and toning it up! One downside... the DJD is in my left hip, as well, but he said that could be years down the road. So, I am thankful!

I hope this finds you well, at peace, and enjoying this week (doesn't time fly lately?).

Wow, that is a fantastic update adaflorida. Yikes, you are superwoman :egypdance:
So happy for you, a bit envious of your super healing powers haha, but happy for you none the less. Congrats!

Hiya Cathy

How are you doing after your wee setback?

Are those muscles starting to recover?

I am pleased, as well. Especially that I can go back to work (which I need!). The biggest difference is: I FEEL HAPPY! I can't tell you how depressed I have been over the last two years, and I know it showed. I'm sure I lost some clients and associates/friends along the way, but chronic pain is something you can't define to anyone who truly hasn't experienced it.

What are your plans for the weekend? Do you still have company?

Ada, it is fantastic to get quality of life back, whatever that means for each of us individually... I am so pleased for you and it will just keep getting better :yay:

Hi Sandy, for some strange reason I cannot get to your thread. I had trouble, got to it, and now can't again. It takes me to your closed thread and says click here for the newer one, but when I click it says cannot be found. I've lost you :sorry: I will keep trying.

I am doing ok. The muscles have calmed down but Are alive enough to be keeping me nervous. Did 15 min on stationary bike as a test yesterday and last night I could feel them talking but not too loud. At least it did not prevent me from enjoying my friends when they were here. Just one of those bumps in the road of the "journey" that keeps me frustrated, but all in all I'm ok. Them making noise is a good reminder to keep stretching. Next wknd a couple more friends coming in from Syracuse, where we moved from, so that will take my mind off things which is great and fill me up emotionally. I sure do still miss them.

My PT wants to throw me back in the water for a couple of sessions. I just can't seem to break through a couple things so she thought mixing it up would help. What the heck, I'm game.

I have to keep focused on what I CAN do instead of what I can't. Hard with summer here and me wanting to do all the things I am used to doing in summer - and moderation is not something I am that good at haha. Hope John is doing well and hopefully I will find you soon. Hope your flare up is settling down.
Cathy

Cathy, Hang in there we are all rooting for you. I hope that going back to work, works out for you. :puppysmooze:Tashia:yes!:

Hey Tasia, I think you have me confused with adaflorida who was posting on msite read, I am not getting ready to go back to wor, lucky me :)

Sorry if I caused some confusion, Cathy.... I wish I didn't have to go back to work... a few more weeks would have been nice! Hope you are having a great weekend!

Hi Cathy VThereandnow,

Thank you for popping in on my thread to giving good advice about following my own healing path of recovery, as well s to take it slow.

I have read your thread with interest (amused how you got yourself locked out of the forum!). I KNOW we are not supposed to compare (as you reminded me), but I am also an avid biker and have just been missing my bike so much for more than a year. (It got so I could not get on it; I too was using a cane and lost so much muscle in affected leg). So I was thrilled to read you got on yours at about 12 weeks and I will know to go less than 6 miles! Spasms are awful. I used to also get them before the operation after popping an arcoxia (banned in the US), having the sudden gift of movement and walking too far ("too far" not being more than a mile!) I would wake up screaming, but couldn't get out of bed to ease the cramp because, of course, I couldn't move with the arthritis. I am glad I can laugh at myself now! So, one mile at at time on the bike!

I also learned from you to use the cane (once I am there) until I stop limping.

Vermont is so amazing in the summer: all those outrageous fruits and wild flowers. Happy cows grazing on the hills.. More excuses to eat Ben and Jerry's. Enjoy. (I used to live in Brattleboro.)

And finally-GREAT picture. That is definitely the only way to kyak!

Too funny Elle, who knew, from Vermont to Thailand, you sure get around. I have met several people on the thread who used to live in Vermont. It truly is a beautiful place. We only moved here last summer for my partners job, so the surgery and recovery has been quite a lonely process for me. I always tell people and it is true, that the beauty of the place is was pulled me through. We only live 3 blks from the bike path and 5 from the lake and when I started my walking outside, that was my goal, to make it to the water. By the way as soon as it stops raining, I am trying that bike again

Not at all a bad place to "have" to move to!! Your coordinates to the bike path and lake are stellar! Yes, nature is a kind and healing companion. I am in the middle of a big city, but just a blossom or a bird song is enough for me to feel grateful. Hope the rain stops soon. Curious how many miles you will try for this time?
