[Bonesmart.org] New Dawn New Day New knee
XXXXX

Hi everyone just an up date as I saw my O.S this morning ,T.K.R is great he is very pleased everything working very well, left knee is a total mess lots of bone spurs the knee cap has moved and that's why I get so much locking and pain he said I must have a high pain threshold, very true.So a another new knee for me,it's up to me to decide when just have to give a couple of weeks notice Lol.We are going away in the motorhome on Sunday up to Peak District to visit our son then on to the Lakes so will have a long think while I'm away for the best time for me to have it done.We have a very busy year so will have to fit it in somewhere before I get to the stage that I can't walk.
Hope everyone is O.K have a Good Friday just waiting for the grandsons to come for the afternoon.

Hi @yiayia3 , well I'm pleased that your TKR knee is good, but I'm sorry about your left one. I hope you can have some time to sort out when you want to have it done. I really recommend it, I can't believe my new one is nearly a month old already and I'm walking without pain for the first time in ages.
I'm envious of your motor home trips out, I will be housebound for a bit longer, but then.....woohoo, I'll be off!
Have fun on your travels, xxx

Hi Terri - glad the 1 year check went OK - don't think I get one of those, but don't really care now thank goodness.
Sorry about the other knee, but you figured that would be the case, didn't you?
Have a grand time in your motorhome - have you got snow tyres, just in case???? Only joking. It must be such fun.

Never fear, when you have #2 done I will turn up at New Vic bearing dark chocolate as promised.

Little Louie the kitten has settled in well, I went and played with him this morning. He's doing exactly what he should do and has discovered the stairs, which is currently his favourite thing my daughter says. She is taking him for his MOT at the vets tomorrow and lining up his jabs etc. He is so cute.

Enjoy your weekend

Hi Chris no surprise about the left knee yes need to get my head round it and have it done, will enjoy the chocolates.
Louie is so cute a your daughter must be thrilled with him,I'm sure you will enjoy looking after him too.
Have a good weekend love Terri x

Hi Terri

I'm glad you got to see the OS today but I am very sorry to hear about your left knee being confirmed as needing replacement.

I read that your going to the Peak district. My favourite place is up there is Matlock Bath. We usually go every year to see the illuminated boats and the cliff top fireworks. This was the first year in I don't know how many, that we couldn't go because I'd not long had my revision done. We usually stay in a nice guest house that has two monkey puzzle trees in the front garden, since Victorian times, called the Ashdale. It's owned by two retired teachers who also have a place in Spain and they are such lovely people x

I hope you have a lovely time seeing your son and oh I envy you the Lake District. Which part are you going to? I stayed in Patterdale the last time and it was ideal to visit lots of other places around there the people were so friendly x

Take care Terri

Love from Ann x x x

Hi Nanamoon it's no surprise about my left knee really, but not looking forward to having it done.
Looking forward to seeing our son he has a new girlfriend and we will be meeting her for the first time.
We are staying in Castleton in Derbyshire then Windermere and have a few other sites to try,not sure what the weather will be like but we have very efficient heating in the motorhome so no worries there.
Hope you and the family are coping at this very sad time take care.Love Terri x

Castleton is lovely. I hope weather holds for you. The funeral for my bil is 20th January. Hubby handling it as ok as he can. His dad worries me though. Outliving your two eldest children cannot be a nice feeling. He is stunned xxx

Hi @yiayia3

I'm glad that your TKR check-up went so well.

I had my second knee done in mid-September, and since about 3 months out I have felt as though I can resume a normal life. I recommend choosing a time for your second TKR when you can allow a similar amount of time to recover - if you can fit that into your busy year! Of course, your knee will still be healing for longer than 3 months, but the worst will be well over by then.

Ooh @Celle that makes me so excited to read your post. I'm now one month out from my second TKR, and the thought of just two more to go and then hopefully, all being well, getting back to a 'normalish' sort of life sounds so good.

Hi @yiayia3

I just noticed you'd posted on dogwheels thread. Am I right in assuming that you're back from your trip. I hope that you had a really nice time x x x x

Love Nana moon 27 xoxox

Hi @nanamoon yes we came home on Friday had terrible weather,Thursday night we had gales and the motorhome was rocking all night, loved the lakes and the Peak District just a shame about the weather.
Sounds like your doing really well keep it up x

I cannot believe @yiayia3 how 4mg of Diazepam has reduced my pain, improved my posture and TKR performance although a bit stiff is strong. Left knee is gone. Seeing OS on 27th for that x x

I'm sorry your weather was rubbish but happy that you still managed a break and still enjoyed it. I remember going to the Lakes in June one year and it rained non stop. My memory was being in Ambleside eating the best fish and chips in the rain I had ever tasted in my life x

I so glad you're back x x

Love Ann x x
