TKR New Dawn New Day New knee

Hi @Nanamoon just been catching up on your thread,sad that your still in so much pain hope you get a date soon.
My left knee is not too bad at the moment,but I feel it's setting of my spine I'm very stiff and my neck is still painful I'm sure that the way I'm walking is causing it,anyway still having some acupunture and it does help.
We have had a nice few days in France stocking up on wine beer cheese etc.Its my Daughter in laws 40th birthday tomorrow so the wine will help out as she's having a family party,bitter sweet really as her dad has dementia and is only 65 he's had it for 3 years it's all very sad. It's a lovely day here hope it is where you are take it easy.Love Terri

That's terrible about her dad. He's so young. Mind you it's getting diagnosed younger and younger. I know a lovely young woman a out five years older than me and she got it. She's that bad they've had to put her in a care home. I saw her just before she went in and miraculously she remembered me. A beautiful well kept woman and she ended up looking and being unrecognisable.

It beautiful here too. I hope the weather holds for your party tomorrow. I hope it all goes really well.

It's nice you got to go to France x x x I've never been. This is why I'm so obsessed with pictures of where people have been. It fascinates me x x x

Just a quick update first of all hi to everyone hope new knees are doing well.
My right knee is great still so pleased I had it done,it all went well and I hope this will help anyone about to have a new knee.My left one is worn out have good and bad days but I find it effects my spine getting lots of aches and pains in upper and lower spine would be interested if anyone else has this problem,I do have bad arthritis in my spine but I think now I have different leg lengths.I will be having LTKR in September we have lots going on this year so best option for me.Take care love to hear from you.

I'm so sorry to read about the hassle you've had with your medical insurance. They are so quick to take the money off you and not to pay it out x x x

They use anything they can. It makes a mockery of paying your premiums every month!!!

I would be well fed up too x x x

Thank you @SuperSnapper and @Nana moon 27 it all comes at once a very close friend has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer so what I'm going through is nothing.
On a lighter note a very happy Mother's Day to you you mums out there,my boys bought me a lovely coffee machine, latte here I come.have a lovely day x

Oh I'm so sorry to hear about your friend...that's just awful. How bad is it?

I had bunch red roses off my son yesterday. Daughters present is coming on Monday!! Xxx

Hi Terri,
I'm sorry to read about your insurance difficulties, it seems that they always win and we always lose. Will you be able to use the Choose and Book system that others have mentioned on here? You could end up in the same hospital but with the NHS picking up the bill!
Will you be going to Greece this summer? I can't get to France until September this year because of a new arrival at the end of May, but we are planning plenty of short trips in the van, and then we will site it the other side of the M25 after the birth, so I can visit and help whenever I want,without a traffic jam stopping me!
My newest knee (the left) is still sore at times, but is getting stronger by the day, and my right I never think about these days. It is so wonderful to be able to walk without pain, I'm so glad I've had both ops.

Hi Elliejay still fighting my health insurance looking like a mis sold policy we will have to see,I can always talk to my surgeon and see if he can put me on his list if need be.
We are going to Spain this summer ferry from Portsmouth to Santander so not too much driving going beginning of May.
I wish you all well, happy healing,really don't want to post on here anymore fed up with the politics etc.

Oh Terri, that is such a shame, especially as you will need support when you have your next tkr, but I do understand.
Have a great time in Spain, I love doing that crossing, I feel the holiday really starts as soon as we board.
