Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I know...:th_heehee:. Everyone gets a chuckle out of that! But, if you could have seen him Jo! He was saying "you may not realize how happy I am to hear how you responded to the steroid! That is HUGE! That tells me so much!"

He couldn't get the MRI booked fast enough! He also specializes in spine surgery. He father did before him and was very well renouned around here. I just didn't know any of this and thought by going to Boston I was in the BEST place!

EVen DR. Gupta yesterday was horrified when he heard that this occured at New England Baptist! They are the place to go in Massachusetts.

Just bad luck Jo...and tiny bones along with an inexperienced OS. The perfect storm!

Well, not much I can do about that now, just go forward, hopefully! Looking back isn't going to change a thing. And I never would have found BoneSmart and all you wonderful people! :grouphug2:

Everything happens for a reason they say...

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Oh Janet,I am with Jacey on possible back problems. You really don't need them! Does the pain you have now resemble the type of pain you had your disc surgery for? I guess it was excrutiating, mine was,I will never forget it.Hope you get your answers very soon. take care:sigh:

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Good news Janet. After all this time and pain it would be nice to get the cause of your problems. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Actually HD, this is NOTHING like the pain I had before withe the ruptured disk! Back then it was horrific sciatic pain , and I was just about dragging my foot.

This is as if it is in the core of my thigh and radiatin g outward from within! That is the only way I can describe it. Not sharp, dull but constant, like a big "PUFF" all aound my femur. Sometimes even below the knee.

Somtimes if a breeze touches my leg, it hurts. Sometimes in the back of my thigh, sometimes the side. It is NOT something I can describe or explain, which is why this has been so frustrating!

All I can say is that it is there. My other leg is there but I don't feel it. This leg has a feeling, and uncomfortable feeling, all the time, but awful when I put weight on it. Thus, the problem climbing stairs!

I've known for years that I had spinal stenosis/ spondyliosis, along with the OA in my back. But I guess it was just conncidence that this started after the THR/fracture ...

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Janet, I do hope this is the answer you have been looking for. You're in my prayers, hon!!

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

It sure has been interesting Jamie...

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Now THAT'S a positive spin on it, Janet!!!! I am glad you've been persistent, though. It really takes that sometimes.

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Stick-to-i-tive-ness to a fault :th_heehee:...

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I have to get a little excited since my OS was like :yahoo:! He told me I wouldn't understand and he was right! Thinking positive here :hapydancsmil:...

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

ha ha ha.......you're a nut! good for you! Keep up that positive attitude and thanks for being so gracious and giving back to the community so us new hippies can feel supported! U rock!

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

 awww...you're so sweet. And yup, I admit to being a little nutty! I don't trust anyone who's not :th_heehee:...

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

nice to see that you are remaining nutty and there's some stability to the forum:hysterical: as I'm checking in on you all:biggrin:

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

So today I have my dental cleaning appointment, an unexpected and sort of emergency appointment with my GP as I've got a rash/sun poisoning thing going on and my MRI for my back!

If it weren't for doctor's appointments, I'd have no social life at all :th_heehee:...

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Busy, busy, busy, lol!
Oh yes, and I hope your toe is feeling much better too. :wink1:

Seriously though Janet, I do hope all of this works out for you and that your doctor's enthusiasm turns out to be justified.
Will be thinking of you. :thumb:

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

All the best today Janet! :thumb:

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Oh boy ! The itchy/stingy rash is a reaction from the sun (poisoning!) to my HCTZ (fluid pill). Evn though I have only been on my deck (vitaminD my... foot :hairpulling:!) for about 10 minutes a day, watering tomato and lettuce plants, Tessa in pool, etc., I got soooo dark and didn't even burn as I've been careful!

I found out, taking the BP and fluid meds (and perhaps others) I should have had sunscreen on ...I thought such a short period of time was ok.....WRONG!

So, I am on a cortisone topical cream, prednidone AGAIN, and had to stop the HCTZ so my ankles are now ballooning!

Toe? What toe :th_heehee:! Oh yes, soaking the "2" big toes in epsom salt baths, and applying bacitracin and bandaids :DOH:every night.

I didn't have to get on any more antibiotics as the foot guy didn't dare add something else because of the rash since he didn't know what i was reacting to. He figured I zapped it good anyway by the dental megadose of amoxicillan.

Well, when I do something, I do it good :loll:I'll say that.

I get the results of my MRI August first...

Thanks for asking :wink1:

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Sorry to hear this Janet. The good news is it is now time for you to get a break! :hissyfit: Hope you are feeling a bit better today. Send me some of that hot weather will you? :friends:

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

OMG! I am hunkering down in the A/C for the time being Predicting 100+ degrees for the next few days! I'd gladly send you some :wink1:...

So today I tore the skin off my toe removing the bandage and it is bleeding ! I am soaking it in the Epsom Salt bath, and that is helping. Geesh, what next? I was gentle too, but I think where it was on the bottom of my toe, walking on it made it REALLY stick :hairpulling:...

Anyway, I do make life interesting for my family and I keep my doctors in business :th_heehee:...

I started the gabapentin and tramadol today so fingers crossed I don't react badly to them. I had to stop my HCTZ fluid pill and one of my BP meds to get the swelling down. Cripes, now all I need is to have a stroke :rolleyespink:...

Anyway, I have done EVERYTHING to lower my BP (except being active of course :skeptical:) but I found out that BOTH adoptive pareents have hypertension and Diabetes. Thank goodness I have no signs of the latter...

Have a great day everyone and stay cool or warm wherever you are. the Prednisone does make me feel GREAT :yahoo:!

I know Toni, I'm a NUT :rolleyespink:...:th_heehee:
