THR Mayhip8's recovery thread

Oh @Mayhip8! Woke up yesterday with my right side of my face hurting and got it down to one of my molars and boy does it hurt today!!!!! First thing I thought of was abscess or root canal and my two new hips and bacteria migrating!!!! So here you are waiting and here I am post op and fearing infection
My dentist can take me tomorrow at 11 am and I have my 6 week ortho appointment at 845 am. Sheesh! And if its root canal I will have to go to the endodontist for one of my fave procedures-----not:yikes:. So why dont we both run off to Tahiti or something!!!
My mom used to say when I hit what I thought was a crisis "someday you'll look back on this and laugh" I cant wait for someday!!!! Meanwhile there are nice drugs left over from surgery to keep me comfy.....

Well how posh does the new site look! @Mayhip8 ive got the sneezes, sniffles and a stuffy head today and @ahipgma im waiting for a root canal and have had worries about infection getting to my new joint but my dentist didn't seem concerned and was not concerned with me having to wait 6 weeks between initial visit and the planned procedure!
Well this morning was a nightmare. The frost, or should I say ice, caught me by surprise when I went out to my car. Completely frozen windscreen, no de-icer to be found anywhere in the house, then ni scraper to be found either so thank goodness I found an old cd case and improvised! Then traffic was awful so my journey to work was then very slow to progress so very nearly late. The day just progressed in a similar way so I was glad when I got home, in some pleasant sunshine too! Anyway hoping you are feeling positive @Mayhip8 and I suppose it's just a waiting game knowing 'all things happen for a reason and good things come to those who wait!. @ahipgma hope your tooth feels a big better and you can fully avoid horrid root canals. Are you up to anything exciting @Calgal and do you have any interesting updates to share. Hugs to all and don't forget to give me a shout if a virtual vacay is on the horizon at all :hiking:

Gosh thanks for the input @ChrissyW !
I guess this is just life, and so glad you didnt have any ill effects from your first frost? of the season!!! We're breaking records over here its 87 degrees!! Gosh yes! A virtual vacay!!! Something tall and iced and a pool boy!!!!

Oh! @ahipgma toothache is the worst ! I read somewhere if you apply ice cubes to the web bit of your hand on the affected side it alleviates tooth ache pain.. And you and @ChrissyW both with dental problems -ouch - I hope you can resolve them soon. I think they've changed priorities about antibiotics and hip replacements now in the UK. we have a different dental situation here don't we. ? If you're lucky we can get an NHS dentist and pay a minimal fee for Examination and treatment. If you can't get registered with an NHS one you have to go private. And you either pay into an insurance plan or straight from your wallet. we have an orthodontist who looks after teeth straightening and cosmetic procedures or Maxo facial disorders. But I've never heard of an Endo dentist what is that @ahipgma ?
Should you wish to runaway I am more than happy to accompany you !
we are in extremes of temperature aren't we? It's another fresh and frosty morning here! I'm not sure I could cope with 87° of heat but my bones might like it. Well done @ChrissyW for your imaginative use of the CD case, who was the artist? Vanilla ice?!

@Calgal this frost helps with damsons or slo I think - it's sweeten them up in preparation for them being turned into jam or gin - are there any in the hedgerows near you?

Well my plan today is to freeze this cold away by going for a long ramble in a nearby country Park.
I might treat myself to a breakfast and a coffee along the way And see if I can pick my friend up so we can go for a drive and a chat, well that's the plan! I've had a few days off now work and my head is clearer than it has been, so I'm going to do nice things until I return to work at the weekend .
Luckily my company have been extremely supportive of me and that takes the pressure off.
So I wish you all a Fabi Thursday and hope you stay well warm, cool, upright and happy. And I hope your appointments go well today @ahipgma
Xxxxx

this frost helps with damsons or slo I think -
Already got some on the go @mayhip! :heehee:. I used some from last year that I had in the freezer. It does the same thing for them and cleared out my freezer for new produce. The country park walk sounds great. I love autumn! Glad you're getting out and enjoying things while you wait. I don't envy @ChrissyW having to get up at the crack of dawn and scrape ice for her commute to work! Glad those days are over. Have a great week and hope our pals teeth behave.

Ortho appt--went great. Restrictions lifted.
Dental appt. Need a root canal.
Going for it today. This pain is worse than my hip!
Yes we may need a virtual trip!!!!

Good morning all,
Face hurting post root canal, he had to go after 3 roots as he showed my on the xray.
Also saw my hip xray yesterday too. Sheesh! I probably glow in the dark after yesterday!
@Mayhip8 are you? What are your next steps to finally get your matched set?
I needed to take 2 gms of Amoxicillin before this dental work yesterday, hopefully your spots heal so no infection risk for your hopefully soon to be double hip?
I cant see the dates people had hips done any more --@Layla do I need to adjust something?
@ChrissyW this is the most painful of my 3 root canals, I hope your pain is minimal till you can get yours done.
@Calgal how is your Pilates coming? PT showed me a nifty exercise to straighten my gait better, my OS said I didnt really need PT but I like to think they are strengthening and fine tuning my recovery.
Well off to see if I can sneak some breakfast past this sore tooth.
Love to all:wave:

@Mayhip8 the cd was.......(drum roll).....Christmas hits!! Well it is fast approaching so don't judge me! My tooth is holding up well waiting for its root canal (fingers crossed) work is getting intense as we are waiting an ofsted inspection any day so I'm producing report after report!
Looking forward to the weekend for no other reason than it being me and chill time so wishing everybody peace health and chillaxing . Has anyone any plans and what are we looking at for our next trip, I'm feeling ,I've we all need a positive reward for a whole range of reasons so bring it on!! Xxx

Where should we go? Someplace warm where you wont have to take your CD case/ice scraper, @ChrissyW ! :heehee:
Hawaii? Our hips should be shakin' in our grass skirts!!! @Mayhip8 if your undone leg hurts a little you could play the bongos or pass out leis!! @Calgal have you ever been?

Amazingly, @ahipgma no. I remember when you could get flights from LA to Honolulu for 50 dollars! When I was young we said Hawaii was for newly weds and nearly dead. :rotfl: I guess I now qualify. Ha! We can shake our hips at a luau wearing our grass skirts and coconut bikini tops. :yikes:. On second thought maybe not! But long tall drinks with umbrellas in them and beautiful sunsets sound great. I'm in!

Morning ladies

Popped in quickly as starting work shortly

New date October 16:happydance::happydance:

Will chat more later
But what will get me through the rest of the day until I do will be the thoughts of five metal hips and eight halves of coconut :loll::rotfl:

Hip hip hooray....she's on her way!
So happy to hear it's soon and the third time will be the charm, right?
Not even asking...just saying THE THIRD TIME WILL BE THE CHARM!

@Mayhip8

Hi everybody just checking in:curtsey:

It's been a busy weekend with me working and managing to find time to chill and to swim and to go back in that sauna .. Bliss ... :swim:
I Finally got round to ordering me a reclining chair and it should be delivered soon so I can spend time in the lounge with my family now and after my operation in 10 days time. :egypdance:

@ChrissyW I hope that your OFSTED goes well - I know how stressful it can be -when we have CQC inspection is it's all about paperwork and proving we do an excellent job!
@ahipgma I hope you are continuing your good recovery, and I was pleased to hear you had an outing the other day and continued to feel that you could walk around for longer than you had previously been able to. How is the root canal work going?
@Calgal - I love the thought of you enjoying your harvest and preparing for bottling and cooking - enjoying the fruits of your labour in more ways than one!

@Layla. - thank you again for your good wishes and your continued support towards me and my lovely friends I have met on this forum at the most unexpected and strange time in my life, one couldn't predict these things, but I am more than happy at the positivity and fantastic outcomes everyone is sharing,

So ladies Hawaii sounds fantastic!:martini:
Coconuts filled with rum cocktails?
Hula skirts filled with dancing ladies?!
Flower garlands
Chilling by the clear waters- a quick dive into the refreshing seas?.. Not for @ChrissyW - you don't like getting wet if I remember rightly?- will you sit beachside to enjoy the warmth of the Suns Ray's melting away all the stress of the recent months..The future is here ladies and it's there for our taking and to make the best of our new lease of life! ( yeah! Ok I know I've a few hurdles in the coming months but with you all by my side I know I'll be as fine as fine can be )
:loveshwr::roseshwr::loveshwr:

You're welcome, Mayhip. I've enjoyed supporting you and your buds. There was a thread several of us hung out on during my recovery and we had a few imaginary scenarios going on also. All innocent fun seeing us through the early rough spots of our healing journey. I hope you're hanging in there, not too miserably uncomfortable. It often seems that the last few days /weeks before surgery are either intolerable or not too bad making those people wondering if they're jumping too soon.
Wishing you comfort as you wait out these last few days.
:console2:
@Mayhip8

Thinking about you, @Mayhip8 as the week begins--- a countdown of sorts and we're all pulling for you!!! Cant wait to support you through your second recovery.....as you have supported me and others. Do you have a lot planned or are you going to backpedal a bit and just get ready for [HASH=7]#2?[/HASH] Or just join us on the beach as we watch the surfers and listen to the warm tropical music--- like Don Ho and "Tiny Bubbles". There. I've aged myself enough for one day!!!!!
Love and hugs.♥️

@Mayhip8 yiu remembered correctly...I don't do that getting wet thing!! I shall lay back (if I can get down in a lady like manner) soak in the sun and watch you all splash around before we line up and do a little thank you dance (or wiggle!) before enjoying a lovely meal. Hopefully that sun will drain away every stress, strain, ache or pain as well as any memory of a frozen windscreen. We shall have to consider packing and hopefully our coconuts will be laid out waiting(well you don't want that extra weight in the luggage. Happy evening my lovelies :mooncat::kitty:(Oooh just seen this cute cat and my cat does the same 'paddy paddy' move on her cuddly blanket) xxx
