I'm scheduled for RTHR on May 2. I found this forum a couple of weeks ago as I tried to make the decision to get it done. I tried to post a picture, but the error says the file is too big. I'm not even sure if I am writing in the right spot. Like many people, I've agonized over the decision and didn't want to have surgery at the beginning of the Summer, because I would miss playing golf and other outdoor things that I enjoy. I finally decided that I really can't do those things anyway. So I'm ready to get on with it.
 
Hi 51desoto, I am in your shoes, I also agonized over this decision, but as I can't play tennis, can't carry my grand children, can't enjoy driving my stick shift car.... Etc., I'm doing it! There are a tremendous amount of information here and best of all it is unbiased and truthful I've found, good luck! I hope your back on the golf course in no time! :bicycle1:
By the way I am on vacation at the ocean and don't feel strong enough in my legs to be able to come after playing in the waves... This is totally not on! After my surgery I fully intend to play and swim in the ocean in August!

You might like to use the picture above as your avatar. It is already sized to fit perfectly as I have tested it. Just right click on the attached picture and "save image as" in your picture files. Then hover your mouse of your user name at the top of the page and from the drop down menu select "Avatar". The click the browse button and find the picture in your files and double click it. Then click "Okay"and you are done.

Looking forward to your first post with avatar.
 
I just found your forum too. I'm having my THR next Monday, May6th. Scared doesn't even begin to describe how I feel! But I know in the end it will be worth it....I hope.....
 
HippityHop13, join the many scary cats :). However jokes aside, the amount of wisdom and experience in this forum is pretty staggering, I'm sure a moderator will be by and supply you with essential reading material, nothing like hearing information from 'the horses's mouth' to put your mind at ease. I am scheduled for my second THR May 14. Two weeks tomorrow! Yikes :)
 
My oh my! Look at all the soon to be 'hippies' good luck... We will be waiting for that all important first post surgery update :).. Deep breath, your new life is about to begin :)

New to this site. I'm hoping to find some much needed support. My surgery is scheduled for May 22nd. As the date approaches I find myself becoming more and more nervous.
 
Well, you are all in the right place, luckily you found it just in time :)

I'm somewhat frightened, but it hasn't completely hit, I need to take care of a million things at work first (and my boss is not helping spread the work to people to carry off for my time off, which I'm sure he's delegated to me) including the end of my 2 year long project! Then my family comes down (stressful enough too)... wwwweeeee.....

Time to get our hips ready for a busy summer/fall people! We got this.
