Carol, your osteo was using cranio-sacral osteopathy. Over here many osteos use that instead of the old bone cracking method. It's very powerful. Stick with it and good luck!

1:52 am
still up and not sleepy....

I have a question. I am almost 5/8 of an inch shorter POP than I was in my BH (before hip) days. My OS said that he made my right leg 2 cm longer than the left to be fixed at my left leg's surgery. Question is who can tell me if there is a LLD?

Thanks now go back to sleep...:th_heehee:

Hope you are getting some  Carol

Carol, that treatment worked for me. It is very gradual and not so "earth shaking" as chiro. But it does work.

For my LLD I had a good podiatrist measure me. You need a physio or podiatrist who knows how to properly measure. This thread from the Library shows how LLD should be measure. If your OS is going to fix this with your second op you might want to wait before trying any lift in your shoes. I can confirm that my LLD did cause back problems post op. I have a bad back anyway and it got very mad when my balance shifted.

Hang in there Carol!

Carol,
Osteopath sounds fascinating. I am going to see if my insurance covers it and if it does maybe give it a go. You sound a little better, my friend. Hang in there maybe others will join our club, if not we're a group of two!

Carol,
Very interesting about the osteo.....thanks for all the info! Don't let the time frames get you down!! We all recover at different speeds but remember the tale of the Tortoise and the Hare.......hahaha.....we might be slow but we will make it across the finish line!!! Keep up the good job and thank you for all your funny, informative posts:)

Hi Carol
Just checking your post. Hope you are doing better with your sleep soon. I know things take such a long time. I am just starting to sleep longer but have not made it through a whole night yet. The bathroom calls me at night.
have a great Sunday.
Bea

Carol,
How is it going with the osteopath? Hope you are getting some sleep!

Hi Carol, just checking in with you hon... How goes it?

Hi Carol,

How are things going. Miss you and hope all is well. Please give an update when you can. Need a laugh.

Yes Carol, do hope you are ok?

Hi Carol,

Just want you to know I'm thinking of you and saying "hi". Hang in there, hon. We are here for you...:friends::wub2:

Hi Carol,
What do your household hockey fans think of the Kings winning? 6 to 1, don't see that kind of score very often.
Thinking of you and hope you are healing, slow but sure.

8:06 pm Week 15 POP<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

See? It doesn’t seem like 100+ days POP when you say it in weeks.

I have had a busy time since I last posted.

I had 2 osteopath appointments. I still don’t know if I should be having a result/change from it, except now nausea is my second best friend. But I have it narrowed down to bedtimes so pop a gravol with my pain killer and away we go. (Thank you Jackie Gleason.) I just watched a Jackie Gleason clip and I know what I want to be when I grow up. A really bad dresser. I swear I am going to buy some short golf pants and argyle socks. If that doesn’t lighten my mood I have no idea what will.

I haven’t had a chance to look for ugly pants to wear but there is next week. I think I will hit the second hand shops. I just think that having rehab goes better if you look silly.

I have been having a rough time for the past 10 days. I think I am going too far again in my search for recovery. I have seen an osteopath twice, chiropractor twice and an acupuncturist twice. I was doing OK but now suddenly they want to step up their treatment so that all the muscles, etc start to work properly now. So needless to say today I am in level 7 pain.

I see the surgeon Friday and to be honest I am terribly anxious as to what he will have to say. (I sure have given him a tremendous amount of power.) I hate going to see him all primed up to defend myself and the decisions that I made for my recovery (the withdrawing of PT and exercises as they were just giving my injury a real run around and the only result was more pain and no gain whatsoever.) Then there is the issue of the narcotics that I am taking. I hate confrontation about something that does not need to be fixed.

I saw my old PT today for a TENS treatment nothing more and even she was giving me the gears that I “should” be doing more to strengthen my muscles and I had to tell her that I would not be in this situation if it was not for the injury. I didn’t even bother repeating that it was her staff that caused my injury which is causing me the chunk of pain and discomfort I am going through. They don’t listen anyways and I’m sorry has never been said so the sooner I am out of their way the better. But I am using them to get water PT so I am getting some benefit.

I get so angry repeating myself to these professionals that I am not the blame for the slowness of my recovery. I got injured and that is slowing my recovery. I just hope that my surgeon will hear me on Friday.

I think I will also back off in the rehab. I am much better since I took over my own recovery----I just get lost a little when well meaning people get too aggressive in their treatment. I don’t understand making people cry as part of your treatment. Just not right even if you say you’re sorry.

I think that the fitness place will work---we have been doing upper body so far (very gentle and slow) until I get clearance from the surgeon for lower body.

I’m not having any fun anymore and it’s getting me down a little. :sigh:

Take care Everyone and be comfortable :ATT637464:

Carol, so glad to see you! I have been watching for you everyday.

Question - why are you doing osteo and chiro at the same time? The manipulations are the same except chiro is more aggressive. Surely that must hurt!

Tell that PT to stuff it! Sorry, but that type of comment is not at all helpful. If you could you would do more. Please don't beat yourself up about it.

Let us know how it goes with your OS won't you. We are all still here for you!

Oh Carol,

First and foremost, it is so good to hear from you! :thumb:Sorry to hear you are still not being heard at all of the places you are seeking for help. You have the most wisdom about your own body and what you are going through so hang in there and trust that wisdom. We live in a world where it can be difficult to find people who care and thank goodness we have this site where others listen and care! I wish for you hope, peace and calmness as you continue on this healing quest. And as Jaycey said we are here for you! Love and hugs...

So pleased to hear from you Carol, we were all getting concerned.

What a dreadful time you have had, but I am so pleased that you are driving your recovery. Tell that to your OS when you see him.. Tell him he did his job and did it well, but then the aggressive approach to recovery is not what your body is calling out for. I am sure that if he realizes it is your journey, your life, your future and that all you are asking for is direction, sensible direction... Not direction from PT's who make you cry.. Tell him how you feel, I am sure he would not be happy that his good work in the theatre that he took pride in doing is being hindered!

It is your recovery hon, you direct it, you tell them what you want and how you feel. Tell them 'you are upsetting me! But I am sure that is not your intention as a professional is it?'

I feel so mad for you, I love a good stoush, just wish I could be there with you..

Hang in there babe, you will recover. Get into the pool and have some gentle exercise. lol xx

Jaycey

You have made a very interesting point---whyam I going to both a chiropractor and an osteo. To be honest I never even thought about it. So now that I have I will let chiro go. What about osteo and accupuncture?

Thanks for the support, info and caring

I have been off line for a few weeks and have just caught up on you. I left off way back when I suggested the garden kneeler and you told me how you fell off yours :th_heehee: holy moly girl, you have been through the wringer lately haven't you? I'll bet you are shouting. "to the moon Alice"

You've brightened so many people's days by your wit and sense of humor. Now that you are feeling blue, I feel the need to try and make you smile with my favorite joke. Here goes:

A three legged dog walks into a saloon in the old old west and looks around and says " I'm lookin for the man who shot my paw :hysterical:

Hang in there, good luck at your appt on Friday and I'm sending some healing energy your way. Cathy
