Man you people are an awesome support structure. If you only knew how much you helped me out these pat few weeks. This place is literally the only place I could turn to.Im so thankful to have you peeps here.Slept in this morning,or should I say layed in bed thinking.Getting up to go to the Marshfield fair with my son and grandaughters.Im not scared about surgery just worried everything will come out ok.randy62 yeah I remember the road marches, always wet, hungry, tired, angry.Same stuff I used to get me through that I used to get through these last 6 weeks of work.Rangers lead the way.I wasnt a Batt man I was tabbed. You folks are awesome. Thanks again.Gotta get up and get to my sons and start the day.Cant wait for monday to overcome this next hurdle.Be back later.Peace.

Roofmaster - That's what BoneSmart is all about. Getting through this scary journey with others who know just how you feel. Keep coming back the checking in. It does help! Have a great day!

Awesome, you're almost there! Best wishes for Monday!

Take it slow tomorrow, be sure you can reach whatever you'll need when you get home, buy some prune juice and ice packs, and be sure they give you the pain meds on time. See you on the op side!

Roofmaster You've been such an inspiration to me as I sit around feeling sorry for myself. I did go do a couple errands this afternoon, and it was hard and I am just flattened. Going to take a nap tor about an hour before I even feed my dogs.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers on Monday! I can't wait to hear how you feel afterwards.

So had a great time with the family today. My three grandaughters from my oldest son are a huge inspiration for this surgery. The oldest is 13 going on 20 and the youngest are 4 they are twins. The feelings I get when Im with them make me want to be better, stronger more competant to continue being theyre protector. They are my reason to want to live. They need me whole again. Its a tough world we live in and they need a tough guy around not a dependant.I will live for them if nothing else.Life is great.See you tomorrow, last day.Peace.

Roofmaster - you'll be chasing those grandkids before you know it! See you on the other side! All the best!

Yeah so here I am roughly 14 hours out from surgery and dont mind sayin Im a little nervous, not scared just nervous.Believe it or not its the spinal needle and needles in general that get my panties in a bunch.I have 18 tattooes that took hours for each one but do tor needles get me.Pretty pathetic when you think about it but thats the way it is.When I get blood drawn Im a basket case.Wish there was a way to avoid that part but whatever.I am excited about the rest though.Kinda wish I could stay awake throigh the rest of it to
ake sure the Docs doing it correctly.Ive watched so many youtube videos I'd like to give it a whirl.Ok peeps I'll be checking in one more time tonight then in the morning I'll shout out at ya for the last time this side of surgery.I'll be anxiouslu waiting on the other side tomorrow.Peace.

Roofmaster to tell you the truth - I was more worried about the spinal than the surgery. Honestly - it's a non-event. Hug a pillow and some very cold spray to wash your back. Then just a very light prick and that's it. La, la land. You'll be fine! See you on the other side!

Me, too. Hated the idea but did not feel it. They gave me a relaxant with an IV, then did the spinal while I was out. Woke up alert and fine.

I actually enjoyed the spinal... weird I know! It all happened so fast..

Good luck, we are here waiting... Do start up your recovery thread, it makes it so much easier in those first few days. :)

Eighteen tatoos! you won't even notice the spinal. I'd like to see photos of those. Do you have a Betty Boop? Names of old girlfriends?

Hey, I wanted a spinal, but was told with my back it would be a "challenge," and one does not want a challenged anesthesiologist, so I had general, and it was all good anyway.

I've been thinking of you today, and hoping you will be as satisfied with your new hip(s) as I have been with mine.
Today was 11 months exactly since my surgery, and I wouldn't think about it at all, except that I am still so amazed and thrilled with how normal, pain free, and strong it feels.

All the best to you tomorrow. Doesn't it feel great to know that positive thoughts, prayers, good vibes and coming at you from all around the world?

You sound like such a wonderful devoted grandfather. I am sure the memories you make with those three special little girls will be a source of joy and stability for them their whole lives.
Since you don't like having blood drawn either you must be like my 20 year old son. It's interesting how we develop anxiety about things that are out of proportion to the situation. I am like that with bees and wasps...not allergic but if we are eating dinner on the deck and one flies near me I am up and out of my chair in a split second while everyone else is laughing at me.
Thankfully you will be able to ask the anesthesiologist to put you out first. He is also a medical doctor who will have done this many times after years of specialised training. You have the easy job tomorrow. Just show up and have a nap......no roofing to work on either. When you wake up and are ready to update us, we will be here. I will pray for you and that's a promise.

Roofmaster, I was already out of it by the time they gave me a spinal. I don't remember anything and how your anesthesiologist administers the amnesia drug you might not either.. When I go give blood sometimes I almost pass out so I am right there with you about people draining me and getting nervous. It'll be over in flash and you will wake you and have that part of the hip arthritis gone and you will be amazed.. I know I was .. It was like night and day.. I can't believe I lived with that pain for so long.

Roofmaster tomorrow is a big day, but you need not worry. A little nervousness will be normal for anybody
going into surgery, but have faith in your surgeon and his team, just like your customers have
faith in you on your job, they know you are the best and won't let them down, right? And if you
come across a roof that needs more work than initially thought, what do you do? you deal with it,
make the proper repairs, and finish the job as a pro, just like you surgeon will do tomorrow.
keep us posted! and check in with us tomorrow from the other side.
