WooHoo!!!!!!!!! You made it through the first leg! :yay:
It is normal to feel like one leg is longer. I have read where Josephine says it is due to the tilt you develop in your pelvis when walking with a sore hip. However in your case your left leg is worn away so maybe that is part of it too and you don't want your new one matched to the bad one. At any rate your surgeon will match them in your next surgery.
So you have pain in your operated leg? Do you mean that it feels like the same kind of bone on bone pain or is it muscle pain? If you describe it in more detail maybe others who have had surgery will be able to comment. Remember to put on ice, elevate your leg and take your painkillers esp before physio tomorrow.
You sound good like you are thinking clearly and not drugged up. Is the pain medication adequate? What are they giving you?

Thanks everyone. Yeah randy62 my next post I will start a new thread over there.

bsilvers at this point financially I can't afford a laptop and can't think of anyone to borrow from. That's ok, I've been using my phone for weeks, takes some time that's for sure but I have a time surplus now.

It must have been difficult recovering after BTHR,wow. seamoose this was a piece of cake so far although I recognize the hard part is yet to come. Really though piece of cake. Knock on wood. Knock knock.

@goody2shoes the pain seems very similar to pre op. I know a lot has to do with the trauma inflicted during surgery. The incision pain at this point doesn't really bother me unless agitated. As far as pain meds no I don't think they're giving me enough. Pre op I was taking 3 thirty mg. morphine sulphates a day, sometimes more for the past 5 years or so I just hope they're taking that into consideration.

See ya all over there. Peace.

Hey marcopollo your at 6 weeks out?How does the hip feel?Did you have lots of pain before surgery? How was your flexability pre op and can you feel a differance yet?How was the surgery pain compared to the pr op hip pain?At 6 weeks out do you feel like your spirits and attitude toward life has improved? Are you glad you did it?Were you at all apprahensive before surgery?Peace.

Roofmaster, sorry I didn't respond before. Been away. You probably had your surgery...I hope it went well. You will probably already notice the pain being gone. It went away in the recovery room for me.

My hip feels GREAT! I had my post-op visit and the OS released me for work, driving, hot tub, etc. went back to work today...felt like a kid on the first day of school after having the summer off. Us I had pain before surgery, but probably not as bad as many people, including you. I decided to get my THR sooner than later and did not wait for so many years. I was feeling my quality of life diminishing...I couldn't do the things I used to be able to do: biking, hiking, dancing. My flexibility sucked. It is already better at six weeks. Pain went away immediately and I hardly had any surgical pain...more of a dull ache. I still have some stiffness at almost seven weeks...mostly after sitting or laying. But I am walking more upright with no discomfort. Quality of life is already night and day better....YOU WILL SOON SEE FOR YOURSELF!
